She has power to connect the song with the audience. It is a rare gift, so few singers do that. There may be a better singer with fuller sound, higher notes, etc. But music essentially is not just about technique. It is about connection and communication and I don’t know if I’ll hear any other singer who is as effective as Sohyang in communication in my lifetime. And that just may be the reason there are so many devout Sohyang fans.

Andreas, really enjoyed your upbeat and informed reaction of our girl, SoHyang! From 2014/15 till 2019 she has had Pneumonia 8 times! All as a result of having Cancer at 20 and receiving hepatitis tainted blood during her surgery( all which left her unable to bear children naturally and with a seriously compromised immune system! Didn’t/ hasn’t got her down though. She was so grateful to God for saving her life and to her new husband and family for without hesitation putting her life above all else, she made a vow to try to relieve some of the suffering in the World ! Relieve it through the gift God had given her! To put herself second and to sing to take others minds off their pain and troubles! Exactly how she had received relief from Celine ,Whitney and foremost Mariah had when she was down ,when she was in High School and her Father had left her and her Mother and they became poor overnight! Several of her most Amazing Performances have been given while she was still suffering from a bout of pneumonia ( example is , her , Lean on me with Micheal Bolton in attendance and the whole show dedicated to his hit songs. After he called her a,”Virtuoso “ and asked her to join his up coming tour of Korea! She could only do one city as she had upcoming Church and Gospel engagements! She has turned down 3 record companies, Sony being the last as she insists she will not take Glory for herself and fore-sake , her promise to Jesus to help others , praise him and continue her Church and Charity Work ! She respects the original song message and adds new content with her religious aspect. One thing you haven't mentioned I believe, is the emmotional conveyance/delivery. Her whole arrangement, performance, face expressions and gestures are all being build arround that. That I think is the greatest power of this amazing singer, beliving in her song and spreading the message to everyone present. I haven't found anyone yet who can match her quality in that. When she sings, she becomes the song.

The thing is, her wizardry is greater in at least 10 other songs. I'm always looking for reactions to her and it's never for this one really. I mean this one "ain't bad" but so many others are just shocking(that is how silly the others are, I mean think about that). She takes the mix higher in several. She has wicked soft stuff. Some reactors do a couple popular belty performances and stop. And it's like, boy if you only knew. Just pop in on a couple from Begin Again Korea. Like just listen to "Misty"(the one from Begin Again) without even reacting. To simply see some of the other side. But still, the powerful stuff is so dang varied and impressive too.

She always sings with sincerity whenever and wherever. So it comforts those who listen to her song...That's why I love her...And her singing skills are the best, not to mention...

She has power to connect the song with the audience. It is a rare gift, so few singers do that. There may be a better singer with fuller sound, higher notes, etc. But music essentially is not just about technique. It is about connection and communication and I don’t know if I’ll hear any other singer who is as effective as Sohyang in communication in my lifetime. And that just may be the reason there are so many devout Sohyang fans.

Andreas, really enjoyed your upbeat and informed reaction of our girl, SoHyang! From 2014/15 till 2019 she has had Pneumonia 8 times! All as a result of having Cancer at 20 and receiving hepatitis tainted blood during her surgery( all which left her unable to bear children naturally and with a seriously compromised immune system! Didn’t/ hasn’t got her down though. She was so grateful to God for saving her life and to her new husband and family for without hesitation putting her life above all else, she made a vow to try to relieve some of the suffering in the World ! Relieve it through the gift God had given her! To put herself second and to sing to take others minds off their pain and troubles! Exactly how she had received relief from Celine ,Whitney and foremost Mariah had when she was down ,when she was in High School and her Father had left her and her Mother and they became poor overnight! Several of her most Amazing Performances have been given while she was still suffering from a bout of pneumonia ( example is , her , Lean on me with Micheal Bolton in attendance and the whole show dedicated to his hit songs. After he called her a,”Virtuoso “ and asked her to join his up coming tour of Korea! She could only do one city as she had upcoming Church and Gospel engagements! She has turned down 3 record companies, Sony being the last as she insists she will not take Glory for herself and fore-sake , her promise to Jesus to help others , praise him and continue her Church and Charity Work !
Well here is my suggestion, Arirang Alone, a 600* year old folk song which has become a kind of Anthem for North and South Korea’s reunification. Of course with her own arrangement( she and her team do all the arrangements of her covers!

Thanks Andreas for your reaction and analysis on this performance. Her arrangement and performance is the best I have ever seen. She respects the original song message and adds new content with her religious aspect. One thing you haven't mentioned I believe, is the emmotional conveyance/delivery. Her whole arrangement, performance, face expressions and gestures are all being build arround that. That I think is the greatest power of this amazing singer, beliving in her song and spreading the message to everyone present. I haven't found anyone yet who can match her quality in that. When she sings, she becomes the song.

Well, great reacting. I have to admit I love the way you describe and also show exactly what you are talking about!! Now when you are Mariah or Celine or even Whitney you are great, but when you are So Hyang, you are all of them!! It's that simple!! The next song, most important is "YOU RAISED ME UP"!! and you'll know she is an "EARTH ANGEL" just like "DIMASH"!! These two So Hyang and Dimash are by far and a level above any singer on the planet you want to put against them!! A very brash statement that just happens to be true!!! I know you know Dimash. Well, So Hyang's You Raised Me Up!! Then do her singing Whitney's "I HAVE NOTHING"!! So Hyang on I Have Nothing, gave respect to Whitney and gave her, her due and then made it her own!!
Her signature note in her chest mix is actually B flat 5. Nevertheless, what I love most about Sohyang is that she is a great performer and a story teller. Her choices are motivated by the emotional state of the song. She sings with so much passion.

The thing is, her wizardry is greater in at least 10 other songs. I'm always looking for reactions to her and it's never for this one really. I mean this one "ain't bad" but so many others are just shocking(that is how silly the others are, I mean think about that). She takes the mix higher in several. She has wicked soft stuff. Some reactors do a couple popular belty performances and stop. And it's like, boy if you only knew. Just pop in on a couple from Begin Again Korea. Like just listen to "Misty"(the one from Begin Again) without even reacting. To simply see some of the other side. But still, the powerful stuff is so dang varied and impressive too.
This one signals to me that a new person has been introduced to her magic though.

Now that we know all the technical info that we didn't have or want to know ( the vast number of people at least ). Wish people would just let her sing, but you don't sell many courses or lessons that way.
