Her performance here was great , but Everyone was better. I listened to it without captions the first time. It says a lot about a performance that even though 3/4 of it is in Korean, which you don't speak that you still get addicted to hearing it.

This is one of her signature songs that is literally a immortal cover. Mysteriously perfect performance demonstrates her vocal ability and hard work. She's just phenomenal!!
When I watched SoHyangs's rendition of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' for the first time, I dislocated my jaw. Then I watched her singing 'You Raised Me Up' from Immortal Songs show, I found myself lying on the floor flat gasping for air. There're so many changes within this song...tone changes from feathery whispers to thundering belt, style changes from folk to blues to rock to gospel, many unexpected key changes along the way... She displays a text book example of every vocal techniques you can think of. This one is shockingly good. A must watch performance especially for a vocal coach like yourself.

Thank you again for the reaction to Sohyang's Bridge Over Troubled Water. This performance is what got me into Sohyang. The emotional impact it had on me was indescribable. It was telling when you elected not pause her performance towards the latter part of the song. It was interesting to hear your comment on how to insert those high-impact points in a song through the management of dynamics. And Sohyang is an expert at dynamic management. Towards the end of the performance, Sohyang's voice simply demanded attention and pulled the audience into this musical realm filled with the emotion she was portraying. This will always be the most memorable stage for me, among all the superb performances she had. By now, you are well acquainted with Sohyang's vocal proficiency, I'd like to suggest her 2018 masterpiece of "You Raise Me Up" where her musicality truly shines through with a completely revamped arrangement. My Love, Where are You, Fate, The Wind Song are all excellent to! It’s very dark but because of that, It’s Only My World , is good as well:-))
Another great song that has been elavated because of so hyang's magic touch when it comes to arrangements.You could react to 'everyone' (try to get subs,on vimeo,as it will just enhance & make sense of the passion she is singing with,although you will,i'm sure,be still blown away if you cant get subs)but be warned, its 7 and a half mins of brilliance, 3.5 mins of which are spent belting up in the 5th octave. So hyang herself said that this was by far the hardest song for her to sing,not because of the notes etc but just finding somewhere to breathe (I am not a singer but found myself wanting to breathe for her so as you are a singer I am sure you will know why it was so difficult) but she still smashed it out of the park,I mean what else? this is so hyang!! I would also like to see your reaction to her performance of WH's 'i have nothing' at the DMC festival, especially as you seem to like 'endings'. Another song from 'immortal songs' is her performance of 'lean on me' when Michael Bolton was a guest. Once again so hyang was responsible for the arrangement & to quote MB,he said her performance was 'spectacular' & that she took the role of 'virtuoso,' (this has led to her singing with him on stage a few times when he's been on tour in Asia). Also her version in 2018 of 'you raise me up', when again Shane Filan of Westlife was at the show as a guest. She shouldn't have been singing as the doctor told her that she wasn't recovered enough from her latest bout of pneumonia(horrendous for a vocalist as i'm sure you'll know), but she didn't want to disappoint the audience & put in an amazing performance of a stunning arrangement which left me wondering 'what on earth would've happened if she'd been 100% fit'. You're obviously a very knowledgeable musician so you'd probably appreciate her performance of 'fate' as there is definately more of a korean vibe instrument wise,it sounds so beautiful,like nothing i've ever heard before, but I dont know what the instruments are, but maybe you do( 2 of them seem to be played like harps but laid flat rather than upright from what I can see,but its definitely a string instrument & the other one is like a 1 string violin(maybe a little longer) thats played with a bow but upright like a cello (& yes I did say only 1 string!!!) I'm hoping you can shed some light on this for me,at the same time enjoying the performance for yourself. BTW for a split second I thought that last note was actually gonna prove to be too much for you & that there might be a tear. I wouldn't have blamed you as I have seen BOTW many,many times & it still gets to me every time!!! Keep up the good work

I'm a hardcore fan of Sohyang's, and I've watched countless reaction videos of her performances. But I must say, your reaction and analysis is by far the best! I've seen all of Sohyang's performances hundreds of times but your deep knowledge and understanding of not only vocals, but the arrangemente, orchestra, stage, and music as a whole really brought me to appreciate Sohyang and her songs even more! My personal favorites are from the "King of Mask Singers", she sings with a Mask there so it's weird the first time you see it, if you haven't seen any mask singer performance before, but the vocals are amazing. The way she sings in this show has the purpose of making you feel something rather than showing how good of a singer she is. 'Breathe', 'Home' and 'Hug Me' are my personal favorites.

You should totally react to any of her performances on “The Masked Singer”. The only problem is that she’s wearing a mask so you won’t be able to see her mouth, but I do think she did a live version of one of the songs later called “hug me”.

"Lean On Me" by Michael Bolton next, then "Everyone" (with subtitles) which is an iconic song in Korea, and if you can find it "Dear Love" from Masked Singer (HAS to be with subtitles because the meaning of the lyrics really matter). Might also help to mention that she's a professionally trained gospel singer.
