I am an older gentleman, 59 years old. I have heard all those before SoHyang, and to me... she is the best female VOCALIST on the planet. I know that can be subjective, but when you hear more of her, it will become apparent. If you ever do a reaction of her... You Raise Me Up... Just keep in your mind, while she is singing this, she has sever pneumonia, and saw a Dr at the hospital that evening, and the Dr told her not to speak, but she performed anyway. Weak lungs and a bad throat, and wait till you hear her. But do Everyone, and Arirang Alone first. There are many to see so, set back and enjoy our Queen SoHyang.

She does her own arrangements for these concerts and for her family band. Besides the angelic voice she uses for many songs (including as a Disney princess) she also uses a darker richer tone when she goes full gospel as in "Everyone" or singing some emotional ballads

Welcome to the world of 'queen' so hyang. She is known for her high mix,although she can go a lot higher her signature note is Bb5. Also for the clarity of her voice on all registers,her vocal gymnastics & for her emotiveness & her ability to tell a story to anyone,even when there is the language barrier. She regularly makes me cry,even when I dont understand the lyrics,which is a talent in itself. When hearing sohyang,people,especially those ,like yourself that have more of a professional understanding of music & vocals,usually comment on the fab arrangement and you should know that it is so hyang herself that is responsible for the arrangements of all the songs she performs(she is so talented musically,not just vocally). Although I love this performance dearly,it only just scrapes in to my top 10 fav so hyang performances,which gives you some idea of just how talented this lady is. She can also sing any genre,although gospel at heart,she can sing ballads,rock,pop & on the show 'king of masked singer' she can even be seen rapping!! She doesn't just 'sing' a song when she performs, it is always an 'experience'

Great reaction. She has been singing for over 20 years and just keeps getting better. Your assessment of her talent is spot on. You will never see her strain on any song she sings. She also lectures at at Baekseok University and the general consensus of music critics and voice coach reactors is that her technique is flawless. She is now 42 and singing beautifully.

He was so impressed that he introduced her during his tour as the "incredible So Hyang" and sang a duet with her. You are right- because she has flawless technique, she can sing this way for a long time- like her 7 minute masterpiece "Everyone". Can sing rock ("Mona Lisa") and rap ("Day Day"). so hyang seriously induces more tears from my eyes than any other singer ever, no lies. there's just something so entirely pure, pleasant & yet, still so humble about so hyang's voice & general disposition that the goodness that comprises her gives me major feels every single time i hear her...i still cry about half the time i hear these songs, & yeah, i've heard them hundreds of times at this point, haha. truly hope you continue yr so hyang journey... there are no bad performances, so enjoy! i will say that you will get a recommendation for the track "everyone" quite a bit, & i agree with that suggestion; it's a bleeping fantastic song. but i personally would wait at least a few more performances before you tackle that one... it's an emotional rollercoaster & the greatest showing of vocal prowess & endurance i have ever experienced. happy so hyang exploring! i will be looking forward to many more videos from you hopefully. :)
Yes she can mixed belt up to Bb5 all day. Arguably she has mixed up to C# but only as part of a high trill. She regularly uses a resonant head voice up to D6 sometimes extended Eb6 or F6 and a couple times to A6 but not recently.

Nice reaction Rachel. I enjoyed it. You're right about her stage presence. Her charisma and emotional delivery is always strong and always appropriate to the song. I consider Arirang Alone her masterpiece. Everyone is a masterwork of another kind. She has another dozen or so performances from TV that really stand out. Bridge Over Trouble Waters and You Raise Me Up are two more in English that are wonderful. She has several performances in Korean on the shows King of Masked Singers and I Am a Singer that also amazing.
For me “ARirang alone” and “you raise me up” are her masterpieces. Amazing arrangements and amazing vocal performances. I feel that “everyone” is overrated. People run with what she said about it being the hardest… Just because she’s belting the whole time doesn’t mean that it’s all that great As a whole. I am personally more impressed with songs that have a bit more nuance in parts. That being said, it is great.

I love so Hyang . She is fantastic. But I have a request that you react to her closest and best friend, “Park Ki Young”, I like Park Ki Young because they have about the same vocal range but Park Ki Young is a tad more versatile and can belt them with equal emotional impact and power in rock, pop, soul, jazz flamenco, and classical ( opera). “ So hyang” receives a lot more reactors and reactions than Park Ki Young” because of her ability to sing some American songs in English which she performs with emotional impact. But please don’t judge a vocalist by the number of requests you receive-altho your fans are usually right. But I’m a professional singer and my singing friends unanimously agree that both So Hyang and Park Ki Young are not only world class vocalists but equal in talent. What I’m trying to say is I believe Park Ki Young deserves far more reactions and I promise you and your subscribers who love So Hyang ( and I am among them) that you won’t be disappointed listening to a Park Ki Young song. They are both about the same age ( early 40s but look amazing for their age!) and the closest and best of friends. She wrote and performed a song called Freedom as part of her Christian PETRA performances. I love so Hyang . She is fantastic. But I have a request that you react to her closest and best friend, “Park Ki Young”, I like Park Ki Young because they have about the same vocal range but Park Ki Young is a tad more versatile and can belt them with equal emotional impact and power in rock, pop, soul, jazz flamenco, and classical ( opera).
“ So hyang”
receives a lot more reactors and reactions than Park Ki Young”
because of her ability to sing some American songs in English which she performs with emotional impact.
But please don’t judge a vocalist by the number of requests you receive-altho your fans are usually right.
But I’m a professional singer and my singing friends unanimously agree that both So Hyang and Park Ki Young are not only world class vocalists but equal in talent.
What I’m trying to say is I believe Park Ki Young deserves far more reactions and I promise you and your subscribers who love So Hyang ( and I am among them) that you won’t be disappointed listening to a Park Ki Young song. They are both about the same age ( early 40s but look amazing for their age!) and the closest and best of friends.
