What a treat to see even such a brief clip of Raka and Sampih dancing the Tumulilingam on their 1952-53 tour of Europe and the US! I was swept away by John Coast's book on that tour, and would love to see more of them. Raka was so tiny then! I wonder if there are newsreels mouldering in archives somewhere over there that could give us a better picture of these great dancers and their gamelan? Thank you for putting it on RUclips, and thank you Laura for making it available.
Very informative and beautiful documentary. Thank you!

There are at least three girls I see of which who are grown to become great inheritance of these art to the following generation, and more to come.
