    I just received my metal to build my log Turner been trying to figure a way to make it Easter and maybe a little safer too. Your turner is hands down the best I have seen if you have the track for it and I do

      watch the problem. it bounces off the rails. maybe you should also add rollers on the bottom to keep it on track.

    I like that log turner! The beauty is its simplicity. The commercial variety works but would be hard for us shade tree fabricators to make. You’ve got a good system pulled together. Respect. 🥸👍👀✅

    Your log turner seems to be the way to go for a manual mill. I just bought a SMG manual mill and am looking for a way to turn my bigger diameter logs. Would like some info on how you built yours. Looks like it gets pushed out of the way and brought right back when needed.

      SINCE I HAVE HAD A FEW QUESTIONS ON HOW I BILT THE LOG TURNER, IM GOING TO POST A DETAILED VIDEO OF IT WITH DETAILS. YES, I JUST ROLL IT DOWN THE TRACT ONCE THE LOGS ARE TURNED. I HAVE A VERY LONG TRACT, SO ROOM IS NO PROBLEM. I WILL TRY TO GET THE VIDEO UP IN A COUPLE OF DAYS.

    It looks fairly lightweight, which I like. What is the thickness and dimensions of the metal you used?

    Do you debark the logs before you put them in the pond. thanks

    • @joewhitaker7343
      @joewhitaker7343  11 месяцев назад +2

      No, but when they have been stored in the pond, the bark comes off most of the time before it gets to the mill.

      Silly question, how do you get the logs out of the pond?

  • @scottreese5492

    If you'll leave boards stacked on top ea other you'll find the weight of the wood keeps the cuts more uniform/keeps blade from tryingto ride up.. I don't remove any boards until unit gets down to where I have to in order for it to clear.

    Yah, you need some practice. Looks like a beautiful patio building, BUT, hard to tell with it bouncing so bad. Reshoot it and add some info.
    If your going to brag about a log turner, show us the whole thing, not just a couple of wheels and a hook. Excellent idea, just need to see all of it

      KINDA NEW TO THIS AND I WILL TRY NOT TO MOVE THE CAMERA NEXT TIME. I THINK I HAVE A BETTER VIDEO POSTED OF THE WHOLE LOG TURNER BUT WILL MAKE ANOTHER ONE. IT SURE HAS BEEN A BACK SAVER FOR ME. THANK YOU

      @hitied1 reread it, nothing sparky about it. The man asked for comments and or suggestions. Even gave him credit for excellent idea. Maybe you're just to sensitive to read comments.
