    Good day, sir. I just found your channel and find it quite interesting. It seems to me like you’re trying to hurry and make a certain length of video, and some of us find that very annoying, we will sooner see you take your time and make a longer video, for the fact that you are a very interesting man I believe. We would like to see something of your catch on another video. It was great to see that you enjoy the fact of a granddaughter in your life. I myself have no grandchildren. Take care of sir and God bless I’ll keep watching. ✌️🇨🇦

    If you'll leave boards stacked on top ea other you'll find the weight of the wood keeps the cuts more uniform/keeps blade from tryingto ride up.. I don't remove any boards until unit gets down to where I have to in order for it to clear.

    I just received my metal to build my log Turner been trying to figure a way to make it Easter and maybe a little safer too. Your turner is hands down the best I have seen if you have the track for it and I do

      watch the problem. it bounces off the rails. maybe you should also add rollers on the bottom to keep it on track.

      I welded a frame that would fit on my tractor and ordered casters from Hudson to match my mill tractor. Built it tall enough to clear the log and leave room for the winch on top. Put the battery, winch and solar panel on top. I going to post a detailed video soon of all the details. I should have built this years ago, it is a back and time saver. Post some pics when you get yours done and let me know how you like it. Good luck

    Your log turning gantry is what I want for my new mill. Most of my logs are large enough to need it. What dimensions would you recommend using for the frame?

    • @joewhitaker7343
      @joewhitaker7343 10 месяцев назад

      Thank you. Mine is about 5 feet tall and same width as my tract. The length is about 30 inches and did this length so that it would be stable with a big log. I have a long tract so room was not a problem. I put a 3500 pound Harbor Freight winch on it with a 12V battery and a solar panel. The winch and battery are mounted on the top as such. I purchased the casters from Hudson to match my sawmill head and tractor. It was the best upgrade yet besides getting my tract up in the air so I don’t have to bend down so low.

      Your outdoor kitchen is why i brought a sawmill you cannot by timbers like that at the box stores so you have to find a sawmill that will mill them for you and it would cost an arm and a leg but i have the timber just needed to get a sawmill.@@joewhitaker7343

    Your log turner seems to be the way to go for a manual mill. I just bought a SMG manual mill and am looking for a way to turn my bigger diameter logs. Would like some info on how you built yours. Looks like it gets pushed out of the way and brought right back when needed.
