Thax, I just bought tx6 after saw your review. However, I had lagging problem and finally freezed, after about one hour using it. I found out this tx6 always overheat. So I use a mini usb fan placed near tx6 ventilation.
@@Jason-vz6hm It has a better picture than my Minix box... but the TX6 over heats, freezes and locks up. I wouldn't buy this if I was you. I'm going to get something else. For now I've switched back to my Minix Neo U9H.

Most Chinese brands do release firmware updates to their boxes, it is just a pain to go find them, download to USB drive or sdcard, then owner install an OTA update. Most brands don't host any OTA website that pushes direct downloads of new firmware OTA updates to their devices. This Tanix TX6 was released in November 2018 and first firmware update came out mid December 2018, about 1 month later.
Thank you for your review. I already have this box, everything works perfectly, but it is shame that RUclips on this box is only 1080p. I tried modified YT app but can't play 4k, it just stuck on constant loading. And also tanix promised to update this box to Android 9, I also seen videos with this box already running on Android 9 , but can't find the firmware.
@@ChigzTech I tried the firmware that was linked by someone on Tanix Facebook. There is it : yadi.sk/d/VnM-ISJpV8agAw . Installation was ok, but there are major flaws. Alice UI is lagging on android 9, on android 7 it was more fluid. Movement inside settings menu is perfect but when you return to home-screen it is worse, it is like Alice UI was not yet balanced for android 9. Also this update brings 4K support on youtube, but it plays only 4K30FPS, 4K60FPS si lagging badly and skipping frames like crazy it´s unplayable and unwatchable. Also on A9 it can now play jellyfish 400mbps test video from internal storage without problems, on A7 it was skipping frames. I didn´t checked the temperatures on A7 but on A9 idle temepratures are quite high around 80°C. Under load it goes up to 90°C. It looks like Tanix underestimated cooling. Last thing is, that USB3 is not working, it refuses to load usb sticks, I don´t know if it is problem of new FW or if it is faulty unit, I didn´t checked USB3 port before update. I can´t return to A7 because I don´t have the box anymore it was gift for relative, so I can´t check what of those problems are caused by update and what is problem of unit itself. If you or anyone else can check that I would be grateful.

Numerical keys, their use and importance.(specially for non voice remote) 3. Air mouse. 4. Voice remote. (everyone already know about this but for prime tv box but is it really useful for android box's?) 5. Any way to connect another device like mobile or tablet and use it like remote. (i am talking about reverse miracast).

I can get one of these in Thailand with android 9 on it. Are you saying that this will not handle Netflix 4K? My internet is decent. It's 200/200 and I will be plugging in this device. I'd rather have Apple TV or Roku but I would like a budget box and this one is around 30 dollars on Lazada.

I have come across other android boxes on amazon that does not work at all with external touch monitors (I would have to move the mouse cursor on screen to use the touch and there was no way to remove/hide mouse cursor functionality). Thank you for the great reviews! I have a question. Can't these boxes run Kodi 18 and then have RUclips and Netflix in full 4K? I thought with the new DMR both those could be run at 4K on Kodi 18. just wondering because that makes all of these boxes more valuable if everything can be run in 4k.
You can run any version of Kodi including 4K content on Kodi. You can also watch 4K on RUclips. However Netflix has strict licensing for 4K so only official Google certified boxes will work for Netflix 4K.
I thought Asphalt8 will go much better on this hardware? Were all settings on high or something like that? Would performance be any better on Android9? And the other thing, I keep seeing cpu@1.5Ghz... weird? Is it because of diffrent cpu-z version, so the app doesn't identify it correctly? Thanks for the video.

Are there TX6 knock-offs out there?????? Hi, I bought, what i thought was a Tanix TX6 4/64GB. But nowhere can i read the brand name "Tanix" on it, just TX6. It looks the same as this in the video but it is VERY LAGGY. I have done all the updates but to no avail. Real Tanix has their name under the clock on the home screen, mine don't. Are there TX6 knock-off out there? I installed a System info app, but it just hangs and shows nothing. I will try to fill up the 64GB and if it is real and rty another system info app.

I have trouble with RUclips. If I open RUclips in the app, it's slow not playing. I downloaded RUclips from play store that you tube playing without trouble. But I want play other RUclips bec that is easy to use. What the reason one RUclips not playing other one playing.

Chinese New Year means everything in China is shutdown for nearly a week, so expect delays in orders.
SD card reader on an android box is a must for me. Otherwise it looks like a good box.
TX6 has one sdcard slot on the right side, pause video at 0:56 and can see sdcard slot hidden in ventilation slots.

amalwolf im going to order mine tomoz with the ariel on this box we should be better off with the wifi
WiFi works great in this box, performs as good or better then my more expensive boxes. The external antenna is great.

Their is an option to turn it to 4k 60fps resolution. Turn it to that then it will allow 4k 60fps on youtube to be played

Always like Boxes with Antenna that are external.
With the correct PCB design an internal antenna or antennas can be just as powerful!
Yes I agree, external is always better. I find that some boxes use cheap inferior internal antennas.

I usually use the default version already on the box for the tests. But your right, I will start using Lea for the future 4K tests.
