Thanks for your advice, I'm gonna using my xiaomi stick 4k till it comes with a wifi 6 and usb 3.0 port version, it's really disappointing that the updated version just updates the soc and nothing else..

Why do you need frame rate matching? it's not a game where the frames fluctuate, most content is 24 FPS anyway.

Yes, you can use such adapter to connect to your local network through Ethernet cable. Note though that the USB port is only version 2.0 so you won't get gigabit speeds with it. It should be plenty adequate though for streaming media.
Usb to ethernet doesn't work. Always disconnects when setting box on stand-by and then turn back on.

Yes. Google Play Store is still present in the device and you can download apps through it same as the first generation.

I just want to check after watching the videos and content, Should I turn off the mi box just like my Normal TV from the main switch or I can just use the remote control to turn the device off. Actually, thorough the remote control power button feature, the main light is kept on, please advise what is d best practice in this matter? Thanks in advance..
The Mi Box S consumes around 2W of power when idle and only about 1W when on standby/sleep mode. It's very minimal if you ask us and if you're using the device everyday, it's might be more of a hassle to turn it off from the main switch and wait for it to boot up every single day. But of course, if power consumption is your concern, you may want to turn it off from main switch to ensure that there's no power draw at all. For our case, we only use the remote control to turn the device off.
Will it support 2tb HDD as external storage and play any movie on the flash?
Yes, we didn't have any issues playing videos from any of our external hard drives (tested both ExFAT and NTFS) and USB flash drives. It also came with its own "Media Player" app.

Hi! It has Auto HDR which means HDR is only triggered when an HDR content is playing.

I'm using this one for months and I can say this is a solid and bang for the buck TV box. But this is not the one to buy if you like to install more apps. This box is for those who use TV for netflix / youtube 95% of the time. Else, find another box.

Because my ONN 4k streaming box has only 8gb internal storage, but fortunately i can manage to add 1TB ssd external storage and formatted it as device storage. So i can install limitless apps i want to install, as my external storage of 1TB function as the device or internal storage

@@pausiee_gaming I found out after thorough research that Xiaomi Boxi or Amazon Fire stick doesn't deliver Lossless Dolby Atmos. Only Nvidia Shield Pro (2019 model) delivers that. You can use your Sony S40R with Nvidia shield, but just ensure that this speaker has Atmos features.
I bought 2 pieces of Xiaomi TV Box S 2nd Gen. I tried to connect in different places (both at home and at work) using a cable and using Wi-Fi, it says that it cannot find the Internet, although other devices connect instantly. Yes! Same as our other Android TV boxes, the Developer options was enabled after clicking on ""Android TV OS build" 7 times. (Settings -> System -> About -> Android TV OS build)

Yeah wrap the device in aluminium foil...also completely wrap your router in aluminium foil and check your phone's signal to make sure there's no WiFi signal leaking out ..that can also cause a very dangerous form of cancer, also place your phone in a Lead box to block the radiation from that after you've made sure there's no WiFi signals leaking from the router then after all of that build a Faraday cage around your house to completely isolate from all electromagnetic radiation as that can cause cancer as well

I have one IMPORTANT question though, I came to know that in sound setting there is no SPDIF output option along with PCM, auto etc. Does this prevent connecting Xiaomi box 2nd gen to soundbar through minitoslink to toslink cable and get dolby digital (5.1 channel) audio to soundbar which is possible in MI box 4k S 1st gen. Please elaborate on this, this is very important setting for audio output. In 1st gen MI box S there is option of SPDIF output in sound setting. Thanks in advance for your help.
Yep no 5.1 as there is no conversion chip for Dolby to optical I was also
Disappointed when I discovered this but you will still get 2 channel pcm sound but no surround sound same goes for dts

Yes. It has a built-in media player pre-installed. But you can also use other players downloaded off Play Store such as VLC. You can play media files from a USB drive or through network.

I'm looking all over the internet for a solution to this, but so far without success. P.S box is connected to the TV via hdmi cable

Yes! We were able to download and install Mi Home app directly from the Play Store.
Can it passthrough True HD sound and which sound format it support
We can't seem to trigger TrueHD in our receiver with this device. We'll keep on testing and update you. Xiaomi is quite vague about the sound format that it supports as they only mention - Dolby Audio and DTS-HD in the specs sheet.

As we know, the back button issue with air mouse is mainly related to the Android TV version (Oreo). You might get better compatibility for your device with the 2nd gen as it's a more recent version (v11). You can also try to use the "Button Mapper" app as a workaround instead of getting a new air mouse. It worked for us so it might also work for you :)

Yes. When we searched NBA in Play Store, it showed "NBA: Live Games & Scores" app in the results.

We don't have Mecool KM7 Plus in hand at the moment but their specs look very similar. We'll see if we can get one so that we can also create a comparison video between these 2 devices.

Yes! Same as the previous version (Mi Box S), it still is Widevine L1 certified which means the highest resolution is supported for Netflix and other streaming services.

Hi, does it support DTS-HD as I do not get it to output DTS Master Audio and or True HD audio. Even if you select Passthrough. Am I missing something?
I bought this product and was very disappointed. Here's why. 1) If you've already got a Google tv, don't buy it! It's basically the same. 2) It's got quite a few apps, but none of them are loaded, so you have to go through and load what you want! 3) If you're looking for blockbuster movies you won't find them here! 4) Same goes for popular tv shows. I specifically wanted to continue watching The Walking Dead, but I couldn't find it on any of the tv apps provided. So, if popular movies and tv programs are your thing, don't waste your money!
