My husband had a leg ulcer on his shin. Notoriously hard to cure leg ulcers. A nurse showed me how to do it. I got sterile dressing mesh soaked in pure Manuka honey and cut it to exactly fit the floor of the ulcer then squeezed sterile manuka honey in from a tube before putting a breathable dressing over with enough pressure to keep the local area free of the oedema that he had badly in his legs.
It got better! It never got infected except when a nurse insisted her way was the only way, once. It got infected really fast and smelt bad. I ignored her advice [it obviously didn't work!] and carried on with the honey. It totally healed. It took about six weeks because ulcers heal very slowly. The honey gave it time to heal free of infection.

Hi, I have put manuka honey on my eyelashes from time to time to try to tackle my blepharits and have found it most effective. (I actually thought I'd invented this method!) However I once got some right in my eye and it stung so much! I also used it years ago for a really bad skin reaction and it was the only thing that worked.

It is pretty much the only honey that we eat, and it is delicious. Used as a topical it’s great for scar healing, burns, ulcers & sores. For general good health in winter, a teaspoon of manuka honey in a mug with lemon juice and hot water is a sore throat and congestion cure-all. And mixed with diluted Apple cider vinegar to drink daily hot or cold as a general tonic. Manuka honey-infused vodka is great too. Come visit NZ sometime and meet our bees and trees :)

For sure! There are a few publications that discuss it as a fringe treatment for dry eye, but again it’s a bit new and I image more large scale studies will need to come out before the industry starts accepting it as a mainstream treatment.

I had problems with blepharitis and dry eye for several months after a conjunctivitis. Nothing seemed to help. Bought manuka honey (thought I'd rather spend money on the real thing than in drops that only contain a little percentage) after watching this video and put little amounts in my eyes right before going to sleep. Instant relief the next day and after four nights I don't even need moisturising eye drops during the day. It's like a miracle for me.

I am from USA and living in Spain right now. I found my dry eye specialist (Dr. Teresa Iradier) in Madrid last year by watching three of your videos called “Dry eye explained”, “MGD (dry eye) treatment guide - How to treat Meibomian Gland Dysfunction”
I have a mixed dry eye and MGD. I completed four IPL treatments along with Cyclosporine 0.05% eye drops and Autologous Serum eye drops. In addition, Dr. Iradier recommended permanently warn compresses twice daily, Manuka Forte Eye Gel to apply to my inferior eyelids nightly, and Manuka Dry Eye drops when I’ll be working with my laptop for long periods.
I FEEL GREAT thanks to you, your excellent videos, and a caring ophthalmologist Dr. Iradier.

I started using Optimel right after this video so 3 months ago. It still stings every single time. However, I believe the demodex mite control made a difference in my MGD disease progression by repelling these mites. I have more than one medical issue with these mites and I surmise I'm sensitive to them. With the Optimel I have little to no visible nites according to my eye doctor. My eyelashes have even started to thicken up again and grow. My dry eye is still with me in the mornings but during the day I'm doing well. No symptoms except for when first waking. This stuff was successful for me.

I have been using these for 2 years. I was born with retinoblastoma, and the readiation treatment that I got back then has really ramped up dry eye pain now that I am in my 40s. When I turned 40, my optic nerve died of a blood flow problem, and now all I see all day is light and fog. I think blood is flowing in to the wrong part of my eye now, and it is causing my broken optic nerve to only see LIGHT, pure white and yellow light, just strange fog. But anyway. I started taking these drops to see if they would help. They did not help with that, but they did randomly stop the dry eye pain. So that is SOMETHING, even if I'm suffering every day from the other stuff still. I recommend these honey drops to anyone who has dry eye issues. Visine, etc, never helped me at all solve dry eye pain.

I've been using Optimel for about six months and won't go without it now. By now the last vestiges of Demodex infestation are long gone. The reddish/brown coloring to my eye whites has gone away. What's more, and I suspect this is down to a drop in inflammation, I see a whole lot better than I did before. I can't recommend Optimel enough. I started using the gel version about a week ago. Man, does it sting!! The first time or two I had to lay down for about ten minutes until I could open my eyes and function again. Now it’s about three minutes. Totally worth it if it helps. I think it is.
I don’t have MGD…they’re in perfect shape. Dr R thinks it’s a lacrimal gland issue and Dr S says mucin cells issue.
Swollen eyelids have caused great eye irritation and suffering. After trying a bunch of treatments and in the midst of fitting scleral lenses (eyes too irritated/inflamed to use them), Dr S decided to pop in some regular contact lenses “as a band-aid” for two weeks before we tried the sclerals again. Voila! My eye irritation went to zero, inflammation has reduced greatly. Not perfect…have to keep eyes well lubricated, but FINALLY something is working.
Moving forward I plan to continue with the Manila honey gel and Dr R says he will decide in two weeks if I can remain using regular contacts. I also asked him to try the Rinsada device for me as my eyelids seem to be the main driver of my irritation symptoms.

I have meibomian gland dysfunction/dry eye disease and I do hot compresses & lid scrubs everyday and got eyelux & blephex done about 9 months ago. Even with those treatments I still had horrible dry eyes. I did some of my own research and found vitamin A deficiency can cause eye dryness. Although it is very rare to have a vitamin A deficiency I gave it a shot anyways. No sooner did I eat beef liver (super high in very bioavailable vitamin A), a day or 2 later, my meibomian glands were very open and flowing!!!!!! My eyes never felt so good in years. To make sure it wasn’t a coincidence, I ate beef liver 1 day then waited till my dry eye symptoms returned (about a week or so) and ate it again. When I ate it again, it helped similarly to before. So now I have been eating liver every week or 2 and also eating sweet potatoes. The odd thing is that I eat extremely healthy already and I’m only 26 years old, so I was quite surprised that this helped as much as it did. I do still have dry eyes but my day to day comfort is so much better. I HIGHLY recommend giving this a try.

Thank you for sharing. I’ve been suffering from meibomian gland dysfunction and have had 5 IPL laser treatments. They did help with getting my meibomian glands to flow but I still feel discomfort and my eyes feel goopy, oily, and constantly tear up when I’m outdoors. For the past year and a half, I’ve been doing warm compresses 2x/day, lid massages, lid wipes…I can’t tell if it’s helping but don’t want to stop in case my MGD may worsen.
I will definitely try adding Vitamin A to my diet. Not sure if I would be able to eat beef liver since I never liked the taste of liver. Maybe I’ll try taking vitamin supplements.

Something very few people know. Vitamin A or retinol is plentiful in most types of meats, fish, eggs, dairy. Beta carotene from plant sources, is only a precursor to Vitamin A. Long story short, get your Vitamin A from animal sources. I have done so along with plenty of Omega 3 from fish. Have had better results with a variety of eye problems than any other treatment including tons of different drops. Hope this can help!!!

    • @theelizabethan1
      @theelizabethan1 Год назад +1

Beta-Carotene is a carotenoid found in vegetables and fruits which the body converts into Vitamin A (although not all of this carotenoid gets converted). Vitamin A occurs in animal products such as liver, butter, and eggs yolks, and fish high in Omega 3. These animal foods can be relied on as superior sources for the essential nutrient, Vitamin A.
Below is a make-at-home formula that has been out in the "natural healing" nutritional world for ages.
Eye Drops Solution using Manuka Honey: -- (consult your eye health professional before using).:
      5 parts Distilled Water
2 parts Manuka Honey (if unobtainable, use best grade honey)
1 part pure Apple Cider Vinegar
      Combine in a sterile bottle.
Contents should not spoil but it can be stored in refrigerator.
(Immediately upon using, it may elicit a smarting sensation, then eyes will clear after a few moments.)

Ive had blepharitis issues for about 5 months. I’m 28 years old. No dry eyes mostly itchiness when it flares up and extreme swollen eyelids. Looks like I have been stung by a bee. Then after it looks like eczema . I went urgent care twice and ER once. They didn’t want to run any tests because my breathing was fine. I have optometrist appt tomorrow I and allergist/immunologist appt in 2 months. I tossed all the makeup now for 3 weeks haven’t worn any makeup still had flareups. Continued cleaning my sheets and pillow cases frequently and vacuumed more bc I thought maybe it’s demodex mites although I wasn’t diagnosed with that and I don’t see crusts on my lashes. . I was given courses of oral steroids twice . 5 days on prednisone 20mg . After I was done couple days later my eyes had flare up again. I’m finishing a 6 days course right now. I’m using tea tree oil wipes and Vaseline Prescribed steroids topical ointment and warm compress . Right now I don’t have flare ups but I believe it’s because I’m actively on steroids. I’m gonna try the honey… I just can’t deal with this anymore. I wake up frequently with eyes that look like I been stung by bees . Benadryl does nothing ceterizine does nothing. Takes my eyes 3-4 days to come back down then I deal with the aftermath of my eyelid being irritated from inflammation and my skin looks like eczema for 1 week and then it swells up all over again. It’s been 5 months this is extremely painful and it should be taken more seriously. I feel so discourage that everything I read says it’s chronic. I suspect this started because my immune system took a hit. I’ve had this job where my shifts were at night for over 2 years and half and resulted in chronic sleep deprivation for that period. I have young kids I care for at home and many times I would not sleep for periods of 55-65h on end. I thought I can push through but I think it impacted my health negatively overtime. Also I’ve had a very turbulent marriage and emotional abuse at home and I feel maybe the chronic stress on top of sleep deprivation kickstarted everything. It sucks because now idk how to get rid of . Stopped working nights and started taking vitamins. I hope I’ll see an improvement I cannot live like this. Legit having what looks like an allergic reaction every week and it doesn’t respond to any anti histamine medecine and idk what’s causing it so I can’t prevent my flare ups. Horrible I hope tea tree oil wipes and honey will help

That kind of chronic stress can obliterate your immune system and cause all kinds of autoimmune problems. I've been through that kind of stress, fear, and anxiety AND paid major consequences for it. I truly pray you get help with all of it. You need to make yourself a priority as often as possible and begin to compile your resources. Identify who can help you through this and make the hard decisions for what/who needs to be cut out of your life. And how. Start setting boundaries and know that THAT is self care. You'll never get that from any other human. Just you and God. And your kids will learn the best lesson ever when they see you caring for your own needs. They'll learn they have value and self worth when you demonstrate that yourself. And you do have value and you are worth fighting for yourself. Praying you have every single need met, thank you Jesus, AMEN!!

Preservatives. I used it a couple of times, but didn't feel right. I was looking for another healing property for my eyes. I just ordered this. Again, along with the others, a huge thank you for your help. Don't stop and TMH bless you😊
