  • Monday, July 28th 1975.
Footage of the opening of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) conference in Kampala Uganda presided over by President Idi Amin.
He attacked Israel, telling the audience that the country should be expelled from the United Nations. He also asserted that the White minority governments in Rhodesia (later Zimbabwe), Apartheid South Africa ad South-West Africa (later Namiia) should hand over governance of their countries to Black Majority rule.
He said that if they did not do so, Africa would have to resort to force.
Yasser Arafat, the leader of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO), was present by special invitation.
    Except of Amin's words:
"I would like to say that the future liberation of Africa must be put into practice. Because if I am speaking about the northern part of Africa I am speaking about the Sinai which is a part of Africa and also about Palestine which is very important to the systems of every mankind who believe in religion if it is Christian, or you are a Moslem you must see that this particular point is taken very serious. Also what I want to do is the southern part of Africa (indistinct) is completely in Rhodesia and South Africa a majority rule. But if Rhodesia and South Africa cannot accept immediate independence to the majority rule in these two countries it may be (indistinct). But what I am speaking about, I want the people to know this, I am not against the whites but the whites must accept that in these countries the majority are black. There must be majority rule and they accept the majority rule I am sure that these Africans will live with them in peace and harmony. If they cannot grant independence by peaceful means in Africa and in the Palestine, especially the Zionists, they must be pressed militarily".

The West has fed us negative stereotypes of Idi Amun for years, so it’s really difficult to get a true perspective of what really transpired at this time period. I saw Mobutu of Zaire and Nasser of Egypt who looked relatively young and I also saw Moi who was Vice President in Kenya at the time. I also saw Colonel Ghadaffi of Libya. Interesting footage. Thank you my brother. I hope Africa gets a new warrior. Right now we have a bunch of spineless puppets who can’t burst a grape 🍇 in a fruit fight.

A very elegant and motivational speech! But in reality Mr. Amin was one of the cancer for African countries independence. Isn't he the one who overthrew a forward looking, bright minded and an independence movment leader of Uganda and Africa, Mr. Milton Obote? Isn't he the one who was trying to crash a Mao Mao movement in Kenya with an order given from Britain? Isn't he the one who was working day and night with the colonial British masters? Isn't he the one who invaded an independent country of Tanzania? Isn't he the one who slaughter a free and independent peoples of Uganda who just get a free air of independence up on he sit on power? What special support Amin provided for countries who were fighting for independence? NOTHING! Talking is one thing doing what he said is another. With a due respect, i would like to disagree with many of the comments here.

I can smell the stinking odor of hatred and profound lying narratives of the colonial imperialist propaganda toward our great African leader , Field Marshal IDI AMIN DADA . We AFRICANS love and adored him , NO amount of lies and negative narratives will diminished the LOVE we have for him - period .

Freedom and liberation do not come cheap you have to strategize and fight for it. Africa must learn to be proactive not reactive. If we had planned for total liberation we could have obtained it long ago.

Idi Amin was genuine, patriotic ,and passionate ,extremely generous, decisive .naturally intelligent and a man of his word. He was destined to be a leader and leadership was second nature to him .Today he is the most popular leader on the continent and loved by 80% of Uganda. Today 2021 Africa is run by thieves ,and thugs who arose from no where and despite there so called education haven't made a difference in their countries. And no one knows them. But ldi Amin will always be remembered. Most popular now than ever before.RIP Field Marshall
