Holy crap...I am 66 , I have been playing guitar for over 50 years and I have loved Hendrix since the day I heard him. For what ever reason I went down the path of trying to learn this song today....I mean the lead parts- I already knew how to play what Papa just taught here. I came away stunned that after being the acommplished player that I am, there are licks in this song that would take me another 66 years to try and play right....even after all this time it suprises the hell out of me that I came away with a whole new respect for Jimi....I mean he was stupid good...musically light years beyond anyone....IMO...no not IMO- he just was.
Awesome lesson man, love this song with its laid back rhythm and licks. You broke it down perfectly making it easy to learn. And yes please do a part two on the solo. Thanks again man you rock.
Good to see you again. Came here from another cool vid. of this tune. Anybody ever tell you that you bring Daniel Day Lewis to mind? Only up to the 2:30 mark so far. Sounds v. good. Ill look for more. Nice summer, eh?
You kill the Jimi stuff, absolutely killer and fun! Could you do House Burning Down? I know it's a challenge But I have no doubt you are the man for the Job. Thanks!
Thank You , I love Jimi , and his Genius ! Chords and Rhythm styles . It just don't feel right playing any other way ! Been trying to see that movable chord lick he does on Like a rolling stone from Monterey Live. Also that series of stuff he does on the solo on All along the Watchtower !
Any chance on Look Over Yonder or House Burning Down? The only good version of House on youtube is Randy Hansen live . Still my favorite intro of all time. Thanks for all you do Stache!
It's the amp, a Divided by 13 BTR23 with a Divided by 13 Lift pedal which is a boost. I believe that is it. I also use an RC Booster a bunch so it could have been that.
I imagine Hendrix would play the first chord with his thumb on the E-string, index D & middle G, while keeping the ring finger and pinkie available for other potential stuff... Same for the other barré chords.
Yeah, one of my all time favorite versions of a blues with such a heavy tone on his Les Paul! I actually spent a TON of time on that tune and cover it at jams- it's bad ass.
When are you and Tim pierce going to do a rhythm dvd course your little birds are hungry. Screw Bruce Dickerson more cow bell more rhythm more rhythm you rock

That's sweet. Great job. What blows my mind is JH actually composing these songs. Like I've read and seen, he always was playing guitar.
Awesome lesson man, love this song with its laid back rhythm and licks. You broke it down perfectly making it easy to learn. And yes please do a part two on the solo. Thanks again man you rock.

Great! Later this week or next.
Please do a lesson on the song Love Buzz by Nirvana
good lesson thank you
Sure thing!
I'm sure this is asked all the time, but does anyone know what he's using to get his tone here?
Just crazy Jimi sang while playing like this 😅
For sure!
What key is this song in ? nothing really make sense 😅
Awesome stuff
What video would you recommend if I know my pentatonics up and down and am ready to put them to soloing just don't know how?
How do you get that great tone? Do I need to just buy a nice tube amp? What effects other than natural overdrive?
It's the amp, a Divided by 13 BTR23 with a Divided by 13 Lift pedal which is a boost. I believe that is it. I also use an RC Booster a bunch so it could have been that.
Thank you! - fascinating lesson, well explained. How on earth J.H came up with idea though... so jazzy, but not really jazz.
He was the man!!! So creative. Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it!
Hey pops.....what year is fender....love the tone
It's a Nash strat. I remember an older video of his in which he gave a run through of his gear.
Clayton Schorege Yep it's a Bill Nash 60's start with Lollars. Love those things. He makes amazing guitars!
Thanks pops.....I'm a Jackson fan....but I can't get that warm tone out of a jackson.....thinking bout getting g a fender....
Check out the GJ2 guitars if your a Jackson fan they are made by Grover Jackson and they have Strat style guitars that sound amazing.
Awsome thanks.....
Can u teach us the song called Amarillo sky by Jason Aldean
Love that song! That would be something on Papastachepop usually but I'll put it in the lineup.
I imagine Hendrix would play the first chord with his thumb on the E-string, index D & middle G, while keeping the ring finger and pinkie available for other potential stuff... Same for the other barré chords.
Man you are awesome
You are awesome!
Part 2 por favor amigo!!
was Jimi funky or not? Have you ever loved someone? coming to rescue me rescue who? say what Brett
Think you could teach Jimmy Page Prison Blues Thx
Yeah, one of my all time favorite versions of a blues with such a heavy tone on his Les Paul! I actually spent a TON of time on that tune and cover it at jams- it's bad ass.
When are you and Tim pierce going to do a rhythm dvd course your little birds are hungry. Screw Bruce Dickerson more cow bell more rhythm more rhythm you rock
Soon very soon haha!
It's confusing because you're tuned to e-flat, but you're calling the chords based on their position in standard tuning.
Sorry!
@@BrettPapa not really a big deal, I just thought it'd be helpful to draw attention to it. Still a great video.
please make part 2 Pantera - Cowboys From Hell (Solo)
