Steve was originally supposed to be the derpy a-hole you think he is at first, but the actor is so fun they decided to go a better way with him. Also, the stuff about Hopper's daughter, particularly when reviving Will, chokes me up every time.
Hopper was likely under the impression Nancy and Jonathan were still at the school with the kids at the time as they kinda just left and said nothing lmao
What I loved the most about this episode was Steve redeeming himself by stepping in and of course Mike, Dustin, and Lucas standing up for their newfound friend Eleven.

My respect/love for Adorkable just went through the roof. I didn't give a fat frog's ass when Jack died in Titanic. I'm 42 and still can't handle Littlefoot's mom dying in The Land Before Time.

It is so moving that the kids start going at the demogorgon with the wrist rocket, believing it will cause damage. I would have laid down, screaming and waiting for death, but they are brave and try to fight it. For anyone who likes Stranger Things, I highly recommend the podcast Streaming Things. Three super fun American guys discuss each episode, and it is both hilarious and gives great insight! Their impressions alone are worth the listening.

Yea asthma is no joke. Born with it had a breathing machine and all. Worst attack was during a fight in highschool. Guy was twice my size but the worst didn't happen. That was 16 years ago. Alot of exercise can strengthen the lungs to help. Great episode though. Also Steve needed his ass kicked for character development
The egg was what the Demogorgon was eating in ep 6 when El first connected to it. So that suggest there were or are other creatures. You've seen how the Demogorgon has offspring, by laying eggs or whatever in its victims, which results in those slug things coming out thwir mouths.
"Is Steve a good guy?" -- It seems to me that part of the philosophical problem for Adorkable is that she's working with two options: He's not a Bad guy, so he must be a Good guy. Rock D Lee has three categories: Bad Guy, Good Guy, and Just-a-Guy.
So, about that Christmas present Jonathan got..... Lemme get this straight. Steve broke Jonathan's camera because Jonathan had been all peeping tom and secretly taking photos of Nancy through the window. And Nancy knows this. You know whats funny theres a detail in this episode which is a really huge part of this series I'm not gonna say what detail but if you watched season 4 I think you know what I'm talking about
A lot put on Steve, he a kid, if you recall what it was like to be 17/18 with a lot of emotions flowing. Heavy investment in those relationships some of the emotional heaviest we might ever have. It is raw and we think we are in life changing love! That is what Steve and Nancy are dripped in. Steve is a good guy, he did nothing wrong or bad, he didnt do Nancy wrong. He just didnt know what was going on, the audience does, but he doesnt. And as a teenager with those emotions and relationships and your chick is hanging with this other dude who was straight stalking your women and taking photos? How else would you react? IDK He is an 80s social HS guy. Watch any 80s flick with the Brat Pack and he would fit in with the Breakfast Club. But he does put a stop to his homies, he cleans up their mess and when someone finally allows him to know what is going on he steps in and up. If Nancy would have brought him in at the start he would've been down and helped her.
