It was my first TBS game and I didn't know what I was doing back then. Stopped playing the game because my entire party was squire and I had no idea about changing jobs. Eventually came back to the game when I got older and completed it with a party of ninja and summoners. Got pretty close to gameover stuck at that Wiegraf/Velias fight though.
This is what really got me into the game. I was just about to give it up, because I didn't understand the mechanics, but I saw this video and really wanted to try some of the classes. So I grit my teeth through the tutorial and and now fell in love with the game. Gotta love the monks ^^
I used Jobs intro, Chapel, and Tutorial. It was the ambiance music that preceded the actual ceremony. It was really nice, but we didn't take video of that.
Moderator, participates in battle using Speechcraft. Words, rather than swords, are the orator's weapons. Dancer, dances across the battlefield, garbed in colorful raiments. Bard, uses his voice as a weapon. May use Bardsong to support his allies in battle. These three are my fav ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
if you feel good and u remember your best times with this perfect tactical game gimme a thumbs up notice: the excitement to play it from the start every time is endless
man that brings back memories. squire, knight, time mage, and ninja abilities were my bread and butter in this game. and the lancer came in handy a few times.
Monk's description should be changed to "The most overpowered job in the game." considering having a single monk can carry you throughout the game. lol I love this game...
I just started replaying this and it's stil awesome :] I remember when I first got it I absolutely HATED it because I kept dying. Glad I never gave up. Monks ftw.
This game was so satisfying it makes me quiver with joy. Thiefs and Ninjas were so much fun to play around with. This game is so large and the random battles never go out of style.
@XfullmetalRocker Well yea, but I'm talking about instant xp, instant leveling up, and instant rewards... And all you have to do is stand there. You don't even have to move, and you can set dance and sing as a secondary skill. Meaning dancing knights, thief's, mages etc. Also theirs more than just the nameless dance, there's the slow dance, the speed song, the battle song, etc. When it comes to most bosses they have gear you completely need, that is why a singer with speed song is important.
Favorite lineup without special characters (i.e Orlandu) Ramza - Monk with two-swords ability Summoner - calculator's math ability and black flare Chemist Dancer/Bard - fly or teleport movement Another monk, samurai, or lancer. Dancer is gone when Agrias joins. Bard is gone when Orlandu joins.
Dude! Tell me 'bout it! A friend o' mine (passed on) discovered that and we created a "Dennis"... Dennis was a MONSTER. Hitting for 200+ on each hit... You never wanted to hit Dennis... Especially with "Counter"... That was a BAD idea... I only wish he (my friend) was still here so I could challenge him...
@XfullmetalRocker But think about it, yell for one character and your speed goes up one, cheer boosts everyone in your party. It may not be full proof, but it at least boosts more than 1 member. Ramza is GG to use with both dancers and bards and sometimes I just make Ramza one because I can't stand watching the old tired yell command.
@tubenachos Amen to that. I first started playing this in 1997 and played it over and over again throughout my life. You know a game is good when you're still playing it fifteen years later and it's STILL as challenging as it was the first time around.
Best Final Fantasy in the series since 7. SO many little secrets and gameplay to learn. Who else has the zodiac affinities memorized? Calculator rules?
@moa373 Only class I can think of for you is to be just a Knight and have White Magic as your back up skill. There are specially unique characters that can join your team and one of them is a Holy Knight, which is basically a Paladin. I hope this helps.
@XfullmetalRocker True and I played FFT many times without heavily using the bards/dancers. But the last time I played it I found that they were essential with squire sec skills in getting mass XP and mass JPs. Sure many different types are good against bosses and story battles, but when it comes to grinding leveling dancers/bards are by far the best. Besides most of the bosses you'll wanna use thief's and other such types for the loot. Ramza is ok with his yell and scream command.
the LOL about this is that the song is great (especially if you can hear the base in it) and i had no CLUE it existed until i just left the game running at the title screen while i went to take a piss. walk back in room see this!
@xycadium Nice. I've seen that Balthier is in, which seems a bit lame but I get it (MARKETING). I'll stick with the original and all its translation issues. Reis will always have the best bracelets in my games!
For samurai, I think you need to have lvl 4 Geomancer ( to get geomancer you need lvl 3 monk, get monk by lvl 2 knight) and I think you also need to get lvl 4 ninja,(which you can get by getting lvl 4 thief, which you need lvl 2 archer to get.
- Calculators are cool when used with magic but are too slow and have too much lag - Squires and Chemist have skills you can use the whole game thus why they are higher on the list - I do have a bias against magic users but they are great backup and a must need in any team depending on situation.
Hey what is everyones favorite basic class here and why? I think I like the lancer the most, especially the male since he looks soo good in all his armor. Not to mention he makes a nice tank with great attack power and defense if you happen to get his best items. :D
I'm not sure if it's different in PS one or not but in PSP the name of the class is orator and they have the ability "entice" to attract the monsters but the probability of success is pretty low.
cool, appreciate the info, i'll definetly see if i can get my hands on this one now. after all, the idea has been crossin my mind now and then ever since the GBA version game out.
@gaspump I finally got Balthier into my lineup and he's basically a copy of Mustadio mixed with the skills of a thief. He's got the gun abilities of don't move/don't act and an extra of turning one to stone and then a bunch of thieving skills so he's useful. But, you have to build up his exp/skills while typically by now you have several characters already at a much higher level. I've decided to dedicate time to him just so I can play him through the game. Cloud is the hard one to build up!
I was just playing him last night and have not yet paid for that skill. I'll work on it tonight and see how it works because I can use another super hero in my party.
Calculators: removes the word tactics in final fantasy tactics. Press auto battle and choose save fading life then boom! The entire map dies with 999 damage.
is there job skills in this like advanced 1 and 2? i want this game and its on the psn store now. like lets say i have the ninja skill to hold 2 swords from the ninja job then decided to go to another job learn some skills there and then decided to change to another job can i use the other skills as the secondary like if i was a mage then became a chemist could i still use black magick? i know chemist and mages don't need dual wield ability but its only an example?
@gaspump The plot hasn't changed other than a few new npc additions and cutscenese. They did redo the translations and I've only seen one issue so far and I'm in chapter IV now. The game is a lot harder, however, as the handicap that they gave the american psx version is gone with the psp ver. One really bad irritation is with spells. They don't go quickly (like they're bogged down by the proc speed) and the sound doesn't match at all (the sound is delayed by a good sec or more). Sad.
how many time ive waited and watched the intro to just see this...i remember the first time i saw the samurai class and i was like "oh man! i will be samurai!" then "Ninja..." and me "OMFG! O.O" soo good memories
i've been a hardcore gamer for over 15 years, and this game has to be on of my all time favorites. i loved everything about this game. i think the other versions don't even come close to the ps1 version. they don't make games like this anymore
sigh, one of the best childhood games ever! :3
It was my first TBS game and I didn't know what I was doing back then. Stopped playing the game because my entire party was squire and I had no idea about changing jobs. yes
This song gets me so pumped for some reason.

Lancers/Dragoons are amazing
Although Jump has flaws but spears, Ignore Height, and Dragon Spirit make up for it!
1:42 This soundtrack is so good... the way it shifts into that other key and the horns start...
in 2006, my family didn't have a lot of money and I got a ps1 for Christmas and this game. I loved it.
Love you. I still love this game
This was my favorite game of the PS1 days. I still play it to this day actually. So much fun!
Geomancers are my fav. Because the spells and side effects are really interesting. Lancer, monk are a must. Archers, bards, dancers are fun
Haven’t seen this in ages thanks for posting
I used Jobs intro, Chapel, and Tutorial. It was the ambiance music that preceded the actual ceremony. It was really nice, but we didn't take video of that.
2:34 "withoout fear" lol
THIS was my childhood. :D

I can't believe this video is almost 10 years old and still has good quality good job keep up the good works and god bless.
i love the art in this game. fantastic
This song and video is so damn good! Really gets you pumped and ready to play/battle!
if you feel good and u remember your best times with this perfect tactical game gimme a thumbs up
notice: the excitement to play it from the start every time is endless
man that brings back memories. squire, knight, time mage, and ninja abilities were my bread and butter in this game. and the lancer came in handy a few times.
I love how almost all of the Class specific gear in FFXI online comes from the sprites in this game
Monk's description should be changed to "The most overpowered job in the game." considering having a single monk can carry you throughout the game. lol
I love this game...
just finished the solo ramza challenge. monk, auto potion, and teleport. EZ
Calculator is the best.
calculator says hi
Wiegraf: "Draw your sword, Ramza."
Ramza: "Sword? Aww, thats cute." *Knuckles Up*
wow THE old legendary game...
I remember playing this everyday for at least 3 hrs. Good times
I like how you could it the old legendary game.. 14 years ago. Here we are now, and the game is more popular than ever.
I just started replaying this and it's stil awesome :] I remember when I first got it I absolutely HATED it because I kept dying. Glad I never gave up.
Monks ftw.
take me back 😥😥
I always watch this for some reason, and it's so freaking awesome.
This game was so satisfying it makes me quiver with joy. Thiefs and Ninjas were so much fun to play around with. This game is so large and the random battles never go out of style.

The thief go up in them pockets son!!!
This game always have something new to show
23 years since the game was launched, an it's the first time I see this cutscene!
One of the most underrated games of all time! I spent more hours on this game than any other FF game!
10/10 Quality back in the 90s. And just a simple game mechanics info.
Ahh, school being cancelled due to snow and myself sitting in front of my tv watching this cutscene eating a bowl of cereal. Great memories. :')
I remember not knowing about the two intro movies until I was near the end of the game lol
@tubenachos Amen to that. I first started playing this in 1997 and played it over and over again throughout my life. You know a game is good when you're still playing it fifteen years later and it's STILL as challenging as it was the first time around.
Read the description. It says that it shows ONLY the PSX version's jobs.
Lol @ Ninja, 2:34 "Fighting enemies in darkness, they pursue their mission 'withoout'" and Dragon "Villains of Villanis"
I used a lot of songs in the soundtrack for my wedding!!!
i think this is very inspired by the amazing Fire Emblem series
it even had a job explanation sequence like this, but waaay cooler
Best Final Fantasy in the series since 7. SO many little secrets and gameplay to learn. Who else has the zodiac affinities memorized? Calculator rules?
Everything about this game rocks. By far one of my most favorite Final Fantasys.
@moa373 Only class I can think of for you is to be just a Knight and have White Magic as your back up skill. There are specially unique characters that can join your team and one of them is a Holy Knight, which is basically a Paladin. I hope this helps.
One of the great PS1 games! It was pretty easy though... I respect the 2 musicians; Masaharu Iwata & Hiroshi Sakimoto!
That is I meant Martial Arts, not Attack UP. (although I was using Attack UP on my Monk beforehand ;/)
@Barbe If they don't you still got dancers and bards boosting speed and decreasing the enemys speed.
Brings back memories.
This version shown was the original PS1 version. It didn't have dark knight.
I know it was in the PS1 version, not sure about the PSP. You were able to access it originally by just waiting throught the title screen a few times.
The song on the soundtrack #4 "character introduction" or "unit introduction"
The intro didn't show those, because they were meant to be kind of like "secret" classes. :3
@XfullmetalRocker True and I played FFT many times without heavily using the bards/dancers. I'll stick with the original and all its translation issues. Reis will always have the best bracelets in my games!
This is ancient
I see. well in the PSP version if you wait at the title screen it's always the same opening.
I love this song!
@Xyntech06 Knights do more damage than squires using the same weapon.
2006, wow.
@MASAKUFREEDOM Rei, uno de los personajes tenia la profesión de dragon.
@TGeiger85 I'm planning on finishing the psx tactics, then play the war of the lions on psp which i bought recently :D
2:36 never noticed the typo till nooow. lmao.

The Dragoon (Lancer) and Ninja are badass jobs!

Truer words were never spoken! Ninja's FTW!

i was thinking the same thing. that's the first thing that came to my mind when the jobs were shown. xD

@JCrest87 What would be like the 5 WORST Jobs in FFT?
dammit this bring me the good old days
@HistorysMysterys them and time mages all because of their boosting stats like short charge that and meteor
how many time ive waited and watched the intro to just see this...i remember the first time i saw the samurai class and i was like "oh man! i will be samurai!" then "Ninja..." and me "OMFG! O.O" soo good memories
depends on what your looking for
i adore this game my favourite jobs are the mediator, white mage and summoner (in case you didnt guess i love support classes)
This video is relevant to my interests.
all you have to do is open Barrage on Balthier. He's pretty much a TG Cid at that point
@gaspump Balthier and the main character from final fantasy tactics advance, off the top of my non-working (at the moment) mind.
@HistorysMysterys should've drawed the line at agrais and mustadio
is it possiable to get the monsters to join your party, can anyone tell me how?
what jobs do you need to get the job "Samurai" and "Ninja"? i would like to know. also how many skills of the other jobs do i need to get these jobs?
is there a dark knight and onion knight in fft bin epxse?
any advice to training a calculator? they're slow a i've learn today.
i've been a hardcore gamer for over 15 years, and this game has to be on of my all time favorites. i loved everything about this game. i think the other versions don't even come close to the ps1 version. they don't make games like this anymore
Dragooner.
Female Dragooner.⚜️
Opale.⚜️👑⚜️💍
why do I keep seeing the blue character models (look at the enemies in the vid) only in training?
lol, they misspelt without when they were introducing the ninjas
DarkDain: you can most likely customize forth a Dark Knight, because this game is incredibly flexible. :)
I like the dancers abilities!
@HistorysMysterys Yeah....
You people making comments about the best job classes are a bunch of dorks. And I love each one of you for it :)
@HistorysMysterys true true but everyone has their own opion...(i only like the weapons and armor of dragoons though)
