Honestly, kinda surprised that the original franchise didn't do something like this, forcing the campers to deal with both Jason and the cold snow. I mean, if they can send Jason into space, they can put him in a fricking blizzard.
One was planned after the 2009 reboot but then the lawsuit started and since then the franchise has been in limbo.
Also, from a production and cost standpoint, filming in the snow is a fucking nightmare.
Especially with Crystal Lake set in NJ. East Coast winters can be brutal.

This really shows the impact that Pamela and Jason left on the townsfolk in the nearby region. They’re not openly dismissive or cold to outsiders like in the reboot, where Jason’s presence hangs over the region like a shroud, but are instead trying to go about their lives and leave the events of 40-50 years before where they are. People keep trespassing out of curiosity, though, forcing a divide between the police officers who want to do their jobs and the ones who actively want to hide the truth.

Jason Voorhees is a force of nature that cannot and will not be stopped. He can die, but wont stay dead. He will rise again and again and keep killing as long as Crystal Lake exists.
kinda like what went on in the Freddy vs Jason crossover film, but that had it be focused on Freddy more than Jason. i wonder if that was the inspiration for this little plot element?

Anyone else feel really bad for deputy mabry at the end? It was clear he lived a pretty content life and that moment of terror before his face was blown off was just terrifying.
Mabry was just trying to do the right thing and he paid for it with his life.

I like that these two films aren’t just mindless slashers trying to rack up a body count. There’s a sense of dread here that’s been missing from the Friday franchise for a long time. Killer job Womp Stomp. Can’t wait to see what you guys do with Dylan’s New Nightmare.
As a big f13 fan my favorite Jason would have to be the in the 2009 remake
I disagree the original Friday films are great in the sense that there is a killer and teens getting brutally killed that is the whole point of the movie and that’s what makes a movie a good movie: the fact that it knows what it’s trying to do and does it.
@@splixtegd5262 I hear what you’re saying. What I meant was that as the series went on, it became less and less about building tension and more about just racking up the kills. I feel like this kind of brings it back closer to the feel of the first couple films in the series, which is more my style. Didn’t mean to imply the other sequels are bad. They’re not. But the feel of these films changed a ton throughout the series lifespan.

The part with Jason and the hallucination of the younger Pamela is so devastating. But the hug is so emotional. 16:13 16:14 16:15 the way he was looking at her.
It makes sense that he would see her as a 27-year-old. The last time he saw her up close and personal was the day he disappeared. He never saw her at the age of 49 up close and personal. This scene is also another reason as to why I always root for Jason

If you watch the Disappear music video, you will see we are pushing a slightly different narrative on Jason. Less single minded killer and more of a haunted / torn spirit stuck between his devotion to his mother and the endless stream of violence he's now become a part of.

The director try to make a full length flim with this style so he went and met with a lot of people then turned out the right to the movie is being fight over between a writer and a director so no more Jason for the moment. But if you go to the director's imb you'll see that there are two more Jason's film are currently being made.

If ever an official movie got released, they got a lot to do if they want to beat these fan films. Everything from the camerawork, the score, the brutality, and the unexpected scenario, is marvelous. Definitely something anyone who’s an F13th fan should watch, specially with the whole copyright dispute keeping official content from releasing.
Huge respect for everyone involved in this project.
So excited about this, honestly this isn't like a fan film anymore it's like the real Friday the 13th movie because of how much good this is

I like how this shows the pain the relatives of Jason’s victims go through when they learn about them being missing, not knowing they’re murdered. That’s something I have barely seen since Friday the 13th Part 4.
I love how it seems like it’s always covered up. Sets up a great subplot for the series.

Bruh, i cried out loud because if that scene. He really didn't deserve what happened to him in the first place, it's so unfortunate... Also that scene warms my heart a lot cuz i used to be bullied hard when i was a child because i was "fat and ugly", my mom always used to help me when i got sad because of it.

'Bloooody amazing' - Scene 2:50 right up there in one of the best 'J' scenes ever - the work you put into this particular scene is nothing but phenomenal (the panning up of the behemoth 'J', the panning from left to right and piercing sharpness of the arrow head, the "oh shit" exclamation, the 'slow mo' traction scene whilst 'J' takes his his time, 'one step forward mockery' in the crunching snow, the pull back of the bow with deep stretching sound, the music, the pan from left to right as 'J' takes aim, the agonising despair for the young fella, the humor when 'J' rips out the car alarm and slings it down with sheer contempt - genius work folks - can't stop replaying it - outstanding AL-B
I got caught in a snowstorm in Chile when I was a child and almost died. The wind and snow where turning into angels before I got rescued. Most people don’t realize how scary the cold is.

Here's what I've always thought about Jason these days. By this point, decades after the first movie, he's become something of an urban legend with some people believing he's real, and others not. The people responsible for his and his mother's deaths are long gone, and at this point, he just wants to be left alone. His killings are now more about defending his turf (Camp Crystal Lake) than about revenge. Think about how Shrek was at the beginning of the first Shrek movie.
Shrek: I live in a swamp. I put up signs. I'm a terrifying ogre! What do I have to so to get a little PRIVACY?!?!"
Jason's version: I live by a haunted lake. I kill everyone who comes near. I'm a terrifying monster! What do I have to do to get a little PRIVACY?!?!

Awhile back I was floating ideas on how they should another Jason movie, and I thought they should set it in present day, decades after the original killings with my idea in the above comment forming the basis. And the Shrek analogy just popped into my head, and I just thought it was hilarious.
But really, he was about to walk away when he broke the camera, but saw visions of his monster, that kept him there, that seems kind of controlling.
Not quite. Tommy Jarvis was the one who killed Jason for good...and resurrected him. And he is still alive.
Also, Jason kills because he just likes doing it. At least, he used to do it before Tommy split his ugly head wide open. Like it was in the third movie. Or even in the fourth one, like those kids didn't set a foot onto the Crystal Lake camp territory and didn't have anything to do with him and his family. More like vice versa: there was a brother of a pregnant lady Jason murdered a film before.
In other words, he is no Shrek. Not even a villainous version. He is just pure evil with no redeeming qualities.

I was sick a lot as a kid and was home from school sometimes for two weeks at a time. My mom would take me to the video store and I’d gone through every single horror movie they had. This movie I’d have rented immediately!! It’s extremely well done. I honestly forgot it was a “fan film” while watching as the editing and cinematography is excellent and the acting is even better then the actual Friday movies. Thank you guys for putting this out. It’s been a long dry spell these years with no Jason and it was nice to see him again

Never Hike Alone was lightning in a bottle. Had the right amount of tension, and mystery, had a cool main character, and the run time seemed to be perfect. This one is really well made, I do wish it was longer, but that is a compliment, just means I want to see more lol. I wasn't as invested in the characters this time around, but that is just cause it was shorter. Obviously Tommy is always gonna be awesome to me, and it's cool you got that asshole cop Rick back, we never did see him die so it makes sense lol. The kills were awesome, especially the first one, really brutal gore, I love it. It doesn't top Never Hike Alone, but I doubt that is what you were trying to do here. I really enjoyed it, and I am looking forward to the future, cause Jason Vorhees is my favorite slasher movie character of all time, and it's nice to see him showed the love and attention that we want.
Turns out the only reason why it was shorter is cause calis snow storms had a drout this year and was only gonna capture a certain amount before it all thawed. But if they were to have more snow time i think it would've been even more fantastic

Seeing Tommy and Rick back in a Friday the 13th film a dream come true for me. Tommy Jarvis is my favorite final person from the franchise and Friday the 13th part 6 is my favorite movie in the franchise. Seeing Thom back in the role makes me so happy, you have idea. Thank you for blessing us with this. The opening kill was fantastic. The snowy setting, the slow motion running, the bow/arrow. Loved it.
This was actually amazing! I rarely see any good fan made short films anymore but THIS was the best of them all! You guys didn’t fail to surprise and actually scare me😂

Just want to say I really love your Never hike series! Such great fan films with atmosphere and tension. Then having the director who portrays Jason so well! The nods to part 2 in this with Pamela and Jason. Beautifully done! Already got in touch with you for blu-rays for these.

@@TheVaultMaster Yeah, I don't like how it just ends abruptly. NHA at least had a resolution at the end. This just starts picking up the pacing and then just when it seems to be leading into a great showdown, cop just gets his head blown off and that's it lol!

The best love letter to the franchise. Hard to think this isn't an official product of the series. The production is top notch. After 30 awesome minutes left me wanting more. Looking forward to hopefully more of your work 👍.

Yeah, this was only half the length of the first one. I was surprised when the credits started to roll. Went by too quickly.

I loved it i wish it was longer. You did an incredible job. I love that Tommy and the deputy from Jason lives was in this video. This is definitely one of the best fan films I have seen so far. Please Please make another one. Maybe have jason and Tommy have 1 final showdown. I love all the hard work you did to make this incredible video. Thanks for all that you do.

The acting was terrible. Only the guy that got killed at the beginning was OK. The rest of the movie was great tho

I was really impressed with the scene where Jason has his mask removed, the fact he was nervous to take it off, the make up effect and then the sudden change into camp clothes.. really good detail to the character. You guys absolutely smashed this!
I know this is a prequel, but it feels so much like a sequel. I recently discovered both movies & I’m more of a Scream/Halloween fan but these are really dope. Y’all got actual actors from the movies to come back? Fucking legendary. Whether they’re officially canon or not, they’re canon to me. These have really revitalized my interest in Jason. Can’t wait for the next one.
I watched this a long time ago but i just found out this was filmed in my beautiful state of Arizona! Makes it that more badass!

You know what I would love to see a Jason movie about him protecting someone. Like another mother that reminds him of his. He protects a mom and her son cause he sees himself in him. That would be Amazingly wholesome and brutal.

Excellent job! For an ultra-low budget fan film this really punches above it's weight. The practicals were really well done and some of the transitions in the edit were super creative. 👏

You are an amazing team! You made a film that even the author of this franchise would not think of making, you captured the essence of Jason Voorhees very well, in addition to making him very scary and feared.
It is a pity that, until today, no film of this franchise has been released in theaters because of this copyright fight in court that should have been resolved a long time ago.
I love the part when Tommy comes back again, it’s great just like old times still rocking the 80s!!

Best fan film ever!!!!!!!!! Great with consistency I love how it pays homage to the Deputy in the 6th installment with that deputy as the Sheriff. The consistency of having it in Wessex County.

The sheriff is the deputy from part 6 in case you didn’t know.

The great thing about this is to see Tommy Jarvis and our ol' pal Sheriff Rick Cologne to reprise their role again. Also witness Jason as child after seeing his mother or imagine her giving him hug. This short film is fantastic amazing I wish you guys make more of this soon. Love it kinda miss Jason on the big screen.
