Great video, keep it up! :) I'm considering doing an exchange semester in Tokyo next fall and have the option to choose between Tokyo University, Keio, Hitotsubashi, and Rikkyo. My main goals are to experience the city, enjoy student life, and travel. Would you say the workload at Tokyo University is high? Do you think all of these are good choices for what I'm looking for, or are there any you would recommend or suggest avoiding? I study Business Economics/Management, so I will be selecting courses related to that field.
Thanks!! To answer your question, I would say all those choices are good for what you’re looking for in terms of experiencing the city. The transportation in Japan is sooo good so you’ll be able to pretty much go anywhere pretty easily. The workload is probably going to be different from my experience since I took liberal education requirements. The class that took up most of my time was Japanese but I still had time most days and definitely weekends to explore! If you can take classes in your major for a full year abroad I would consider that as well, I wish I did a year instead of a semester.

I wouldn't say any big surprises other than during the process it's going to be a lot of work and research, which for me was both super exciting and exhausting. You're going to have to be independent and really plan out your future after studying abroad and what you need to do before to let yourself have the best time abroad (money wise/credits). I always wanted to visit Japan but never got the chance to, when this study abroad opportunity was introduced to me I knew I had to take it. The atmosphere and the area are one of the biggest reasons for why I came to study here! It’s been a really remarkable experience and journey!

I ended up doing so much more and meeting so many people because I said yes and didn’t just stay in my room. Another tip is to try and travel around Japan, it’s crazy how different life can be especially outside of Tokyo. Lastly, go to a fireworks festival it’s one of the best things I did! I got a lot more so look forward to the video!

Would anyone recommend doing this? If i went is be studying midwifery (in the uk) then going to japan for 6ish months.. id also be learning japanese there if i can but i also know some! どうもありがとうございます

I’m not sure how much it is for full time students. It’ll vary for people that are doing exchange because the home university charges differently from Sophia.

Do you have any experience or know a friend who’d have gone through the process of being prescribed ADHD medication (Concerta, Methylphenidate) as there’s a limit on how much I can bring into the country with my current script. Would I have to get a psychiatrist in Japan to diagnose me again, or would a letter from my Psychiatrist saying “he’s doing intensive Japanese 1, and has ADHD so bad it can be considered AD4K” be enough to convince a Japanese doctor/specialist that I’m in genuine need of the prescription? (Especially doing Intensive Jp1 at Sophia!) Sorry for the long ramble just hope you know someone who’d be able to give me some advice re this, as you are in the exact spot I wanna be in next year. 動画を作ってくれてありがとうございました。 ジャクソンより！
