Goddamn it’s so good. Almost like playing a straight up sequel. Totally in love with the town, the NPC’s, the maps, the soundtrack, the cutscenes. Just so much love and attention was poured in this expansion. How lucky we are, that the Switch got such a well rounded MH experience.
Rise was my first MH game that I wasn’t turned off by the graphics and not picky about things., I learned the Charge Blade and I’m pleased to see the paid dlc is actually pretty nice.

As a note on the "physical" for Sunbreak for Switch: It's basically Base MH Rise with a Sunbreak Download Voucher inside. What more, as of this comment, the current asking price for this "physical" version is $70.00 USD, a $10 bump from Base Rise's initial release.
So you played it on PC? I have a question then. What would be better for me in your opinion: go for Sunbreak DLC on Switch or go for base game + DLC on PC? I don't use Switch in handheld (when I'm away from home I usually have something to do and that excludes NS), I don't have Nintendo Online. On PC I would have better graphic, 60 fps and online experience. The downside of latter option is all the time I spent in NS base game will be lost (no cross save...) and it will cost me $20 more to buy base + DLC on PC.
In a comparison of any gaming system, sans exclusive titles, PC is always superior. It has a few thousand times the power. Keep switch for exclusives and things that really benefit from the portability and design. It's no insult to the console but a switch, vs a dedicated gpu which is alone, the size of the switch + a high end processor, 4k monitor+ etc. It's impossible to beat that power in its own field. So don't try to.
I have Rise but am not planning on buying Sunbreak just yet but yesterday the game forced a 10gb update on me. Is that Sunbreak related - ie for network connection between old and new players, etc - or something much, much, much more sinister?
I think the update is mandatory because you can match with players who have Sunbreak exclusive gear/skills, even though you have no access to that stuff. I assume it's easier to display when your version of the game already has those elements downloaded in it. If you don't plan to play online then the update is less interesting, but still useful as there are several minor enhancements for base Rise.

Scoring things X/20 huh? Hey alright. 17/20 ... Why not 8.5/10... Far more understandable. I don't really see what bloating the denominator does for the scoring process.
For those who are starting rise with the sunbreak expansion. PLEASE DONT USE THE BLACK BELT ARMOR! It nerfs the game and takes away the challenge/grind which is essential for the enjoyment.
Avoid sunbreak at all cost Dont even let this game to try and update I DONT WANT 2 IDIOTS STANDING THERE AND LOOKING AT THE SEA I NEED HINOA'S AND MINOTO'S EXCELLENT SINGING VOICE TO GREET ME EVERYTIME I OPEN THIS GAME i give sunbreak a score 0/10 BRING BACK THEIR SINGING CAPCOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or is there anyway i can change back to them singing for the start menu? I really really really HATE this new start menu lol Actual review 9/10 I dislike the idea of working with a new team. Why cant we work with kamura people going over to the new area? This new area is giving the MH world vibes, even the way the NPC dressed there. Why cant it be like world where we continue working with the same team for master rank? I believe the players already have some connection with the kamura village's NPC and now we have to work with new people........ New monsters, new fun, same addictive gameplay. Sunbreak is a must buy even if you have $0 in your bank XD

I need to get better before getting this but omg looks epic
The are is called "Elgado" not "Rondine". Rondine is the NPC for argosy and the NPC you'll talk to for starting Sunbreak. you kept saying town of Rondine.🤣🤣🤣
I want to like this.. the passion u speak around this game is inspiring.. I’ve tried three separate times to start a new save.. I can’t get into it.. the learning curve for new players is nearly impossible to overcome. Yes, I have tried MH generations as well and find the same issues.. help?
this is Sequel?
Scoring things X/20 huh?
Hey alright.
17/20 ... Why not 8.5/10... Far more understandable. I don't really see what bloating the denominator does for the scoring process.
It gives a score out of 100, therefore allows a percentage.
@@SwitchUpYt what percent do you suspect 8.5 out of 10 is?
Yes. 85%
I feel like I have to pick this up because what kind of switchup fan would I truly be without it!
Nice content
Yes.
You need to play this game on PC I didn't like it as much on switch. Looks way better in PC
Have Sunbreak on both
For those who are starting rise with the sunbreak expansion. PLEASE DONT USE THE BLACK BELT ARMOR! It nerfs the game and takes away the challenge/grind which is essential for the enjoyment.
Don't listen to him use it to fly through the boring first half. Monsters are a snooze fest and you have to be remedial to find them challenging
unless you are my partner who is trying their best to play a hard game and wants their "plot armor"
£35 on top of the base game
Avoid sunbreak at all cost
Dont even let this game to try and update
I DONT WANT 2 IDIOTS STANDING THERE AND LOOKING AT THE SEA
I NEED HINOA'S AND MINOTO'S EXCELLENT SINGING VOICE TO GREET ME EVERYTIME I OPEN THIS GAME
i give sunbreak a score 0/10
BRING BACK THEIR SINGING CAPCOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or is there anyway i can change back to them singing for the start menu? I really really really HATE this new start menu lol
Actual review
9/10
I dislike the idea of working with a new team.
Ok
I felt very underwhelmed by Rise. And Sunbreak looks just as underwhelming.
Wanna game share
😎🤙👍👍
