- I used the audio from the On The Third Day CD Remastered edition. However I always felt that this version was too compressed and the stereo sound field was too narrow. So I expanded the dynamic range and stereo sound field. I then remastered the track for best sound quality possible. I believe this sounds much better as you can hear the instruments more clearly and bringing this track to audiophile sound quality it deserves for the first time.

Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra is the best and most versatile band ever Musically.
It took 4 Beatles and George Martin to accomplish what Jeff Lynne has done musically all by himself. Of course, by popularity and commercially, The Beatles are no 1 but musically Jeff Lynne rules. I am a huge Beatles fan but Jeff Lynne is much better with Harmonies, Orchestration, as an incredible Producer, singer and songwriter. Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!!! Please Tour in 2022!!!

The Beatles were the best band there ever was on this planet and influential for all to come. My favorite band of all time. But ELO is from out there, came here on their spaceship to send us their 'secret messages' of love and joy. The "sons of Beatles ". Jeff Lynne is a musical genious. No wonder he worked with 3 of them. ❤😎🛸 Both very unique, most creative. And I love both. Beatles : best band ever on Earth. ELO : Best band in the solar system . But why always compare things? They both thought highly of each other. And who do all these most famous musicians call on when they need something? Jeff Lynne.
When I was a kid, "Don't Bring Me Down" was one of the very first 45s I bought, and this was the B-side song... Fell in love with it then, and still love it now. It is a masterpiece of classical/rock fusion...
Dreaming of 4000 always was my fav track from On The Third Day. It knocks almost everything out of the ring that I can think of. Mambo, the alternate version is even a tad better imo.

Great job with adding some girth to this song. No harshness either. Really nice job. The added richness in the instrumentals you've created begs for a layer of dry isolated vocal to bring them up front and center - give them some punch.

I honestly believe I could listen to this song 45 times a day, back to back, and never get tired of hearing it. It's timeless and every time I listen, I hear something I didn't hear before. I've said before I would love to watch perform his special magic in the studio. I wouldn't have too much knowledge of what he was doing, but I love to watch geniuses create masterpieces. ❤❤

Sounds great, but why the gate that closes very ugly around 3.30?
Lovely, except for some gating, which drives me crackers. I wholeheartedly agree with the idea though - the compressed-to-death stuff gives me headache, and just doesn't sound right. I used to have a huge system of DBX separates with expanders and it sounded amazing but I couldn't use it where I lived, so I let it go.
