I needed to watch this video I like to shop around and online to see where I can get the lowest price.I I'm happy I finally opened a account for my self to save .
I will be saving on hygene and cleaning supplies...I make my own cleaning supplies and I purchased my sustainable hygene items with gift cards I got at work dor the holidays so I am set for the year except for toilet paper 😉 I cut back on everything I needed to so I only have my rent n utilities gas and small groceries...I live on a strict diet so groceries isnt a problem...money saving goal for 2020 is $2.5K 🙏💜
1. Cash Back and Rewards Programs on items you would be purchasing anyway 2. Track your spending 3. Avoid storage costs 4. Cancel unused subscriptions 5. Take public transit, bike, or walk 6. Make your own coffee 7. Own only one of each type of makeup product you use 8. Embrace free entertainment 9. Buy only food you will use 10. Use things up fully
Libraries are a great source for free entertainment for all ages. Children’s programs are great for little kids. Older kids and teens can do book clubs, board game times and crafts. Sometimes libraries will host free concerts or speakers. There’s also book clubs for adults. My library even offers a coloring club for adults and they always have coloring pages for kids and adults.
Yessssss, I’m doing a “No Spend January” to help me save money for 2020! Since I’m a hoarder, I need more things going out of my house than coming in! LOL! Best of luck saving for your house!!!
I loved your tip on a previous video of making yourself wait before purchasing, maybe a day for small items or a month for big ones. I make a list of the things I want to buy and often by the time I look back on them I realise I don’t need them anymore! Great tips as always 💛
That’s one of my favorites! And honestly probably the one I use the most often. But all these added together definitely help in making more intentional purchasing decisions. 💙
I decluttered my makeup brushes and sold them for $100. Anything I can sell I do. Also, when I go to the market I only buy food for 2 to 3 days max, I noticed that when I buy for the week I end up not using the food for what it’s for and the food goes bad too I don’t buy books no more I go to the library I set a budget on everything I started taking lunch to work, even if it’s a cup of noddles I’ll take it so I don’t spend money I’ve been only putting enough gas in my car to last me for where exactly I’m going (I calculated by the mpg and where I know I’m going meaning work and dropping off my kids at school, market) I’ve been going to the 99 only store a lot, if there is one around you I highly recommend it, they have been getting some good products like I bought a pack of Oscar Mayor bacon for $3 instead of $7 at Vons
Minimalism has honestly helped me a lot with cutting down my spending habits, but the holidays was kind of a set back for me this past year. Needless to say that I'm doing the low-buy challenge myself, but I haven't had any problems with that yet :)
My goal is not to purchase anything for me until June. Then try to keep it up until December. It’s not going to be easy but I did clean out my closet gave away clothes shoes bags. Thanks to you I’m going through stuff every weekend
I wish I could use public transportation. I live in a very rural area in New Mexico and a car even a truck is almost a must. There are no buses and we have a train, but it's to far to walk or ride a bike to. Then we have extremely weather temperatures. On the other hand I live in a beautiful house 3 bedroom, 2 car garage, 2 full bath and fireplace. Under $600.00 US dollars on mortgage with tax and home owners insurance included.
Totally get that good public transportation isn’t available to everyone! That’s why I mentioned it being important to consider the options in your area. But that’s awesome that by living where you do you’ve found different opportunities to save!
Hi Ashlynne, thank you for this upload. I love watching your videos :) So my husband and I usually buy our veg from the supermarket, however, this year we have started preparing beds for a vegetables garden. We purchased two hens, Dorothy and Penelope, last week so we will have fresh eggs. As we live in a small village, we can collect and sell our Fresh, Organic, Free Range eggs :) Something I do regarding my savings is to take £200 a month from my salary to use IF required. The rest goes into my savings and of course the monthly bills like food shopping, household bills and petrol. Whatever is left from the £200 at the end of the month goes into my savings too. I find having the £200 on my debit card and keeping track of it online is a good way of knowing what I'm spending. Love, Andrea xx
Also I am making sure I look more into my grocery budget! I find that there some items that I can cut out completely as they usually end up in the garbage at the end of the week 😊
Great video Ashlynne! I've totally upped my financial goals for the year! I actually just shared a video on my goal of getting to $25,000 in SAVINGS this year ✨
Any tips for going through a storage unit of things that belong to an older relative? Also buying only food that you'll eat is something I'll try to convince my family members of because they like to try new recipes and some of them tend to include ingredients that wouldn't be used on a regular.
Your IDEAS are GREAT 👍👌💞😊 THANKS! I like the "use it up/use all of it!" Kinda Thinking. I love to shop! Dollar stores, Bargain stores, Thrift shops, Groceries stores... I found this to Help...I like Jeri-Ann's wording(DIY-er 🤗) Shop and unShop... Take things Out of the Cart and go put them back where you found them!
So glad you found it helpful! And for sure being willing to take things out don’t need out of the cart is a great habit to get into, so you don’t end up buying things you don’t need.
When I first saw minimalism videos I was shocked when they said about getting rid of cds and dvds and go for Netflix, Spotify ect. I thought 🤔 so they throw away perfectly fine entertainment because they can have it if they constantly pay for it? ... No way ! New level of stupidity. Now I can hear : get rid of subscriptions 😉 I love minimalism ☺ I just call it commonsense 👍
I'm hoping to spend my money on things like a hoodie or a wallet because I'll use it more, other than a random lipgloss (yes I have a lip gloss problem lol) 🙃
Of all the categories here, makeup is the one I fail at keeping simple :( I tried for a while but it wasn't a successful experiment for me :D I have definitely less than before, trying to keep in mind makeup products expire so too many foundations, etc really is a waste in all senses.
What habits are you implementing to save money in 2020? ✨

Low-buy 2020. I am using things up before buying a replacement.
Great video Ashlynne. We are pretty frugal. We have bought a few things this month that we really needed.
Hayleah Huskey me too!!!

Absolutely! I’m a huge believer in leveraging your local public library!
I'm trying really hard to use up all the skin care products that I own. I couldn't believe how many hand creams I had when I started decluttering.
Jordana Acuña me too!! 😓
That’s a huge one! I went through the same thing when I started decluttering 😂
same!! and how much i actully spend on certain products like the proactive subsciption
i can relate with lotion products 😅

The holidays can definitely be a challenge in that way! Good luck with the rest of your low buy challenge though!

Best of luck! You can do it! 😊
I’ve been decluttering my make up soooo much but especially during quarantine!
it's so nice to see that I already do most of these tips
I cut out the vending machine and did the math I was spending around 40.00/week on it!! I knew it was bad and I’m so glad I cut that out this year!!

I would say go through it with other people if you can. And then just keep practicality in mind. 💙
Your IDEAS are GREAT 👍👌💞😊

Hey Ashlynne! Can we use top cash back in store? I almost never shop online. Thanks for the video!
I'm hoping to spend my money on things like a hoodie or a wallet because I'll use it more, other than a random lipgloss (yes I have a lip gloss problem lol) 🙃
That’s great! I think every step we can take to making more intentional purchasing decisions is one in the right direction! 💙
I'm doing no spend 2020. Save for Actual Needs.
Love. It. 💙
Me too! It’s going well
How did it go?
I’m doing a low buy all year, woo hoo!
Love it!!
Yes! ❤️
Thanks for the great tips
What app are u using for your thumbnails ?
Yessss!! Catan is the best game 😂💖
Haha totally agree 🥰
I normally would purchase two items at a time. So I would not run out. I have done this for years.
That’s a good way of approaching it as well!
Montreal has a $5 Canadian, night pass for public transportation, from 6 pm to 5 am the next day. Party hard, arrive safely.
Oh that’s so cool! I wish more cities would implement stuff like that
Number 10... yes i need!!! 😓😓
It’s a big one!

What is a hack!?
i never understood how people can have multiple make up items. like when are you gonna finish them?? it's not as easy as skincare ya know 😶
Quit buying produce that goes to waste 😊.
The sponsorship portion was too long.
I Always skip the add-parts in every Video, not just her's.
Just skip ahead and let her do her hussle as she sees fit, geez
