You should actually use the gate on your RUclips videos especially if you clipping videos the noise is coming through... What you can do and to answer your question on why they add noise is simple, it helps glue the vocals when it comes to a recording so if you for example had to run your video through a analog EQ such as this one you can add noise to glue those weird bumps and clips in your video just a tip😏

Great video, thanks! So, just to be clear - when you've got the sidechain activated and you boost a certain frequency, the compressor focuses on compressing that particular frequency, right? It doesn't just use that band to trigger the compressor for the whole spectrum?

Indeed correct, all bands are active at all times. The EQ will emphasize the selected frequencies.

i dont understant the release in the comp... 0.1 - 4 ms?? ist that so fast realease? i want to use at least 20 ms :((

SSL has a fast and punchy character! Sometimes you are just looking for a different sound and have to grab a different compressor, good luck!
