Great vid thanks. I've just bought A7siii with 24-105 lens. Came over from Canon after much soul searching. Thenks for all your great content only just recently discovered your channel
Sweet rig! I personally am positively OBSESSED with rig building. I feel like it's something one can never actually perfect, only get closer and closer to that coveted perfection. Videos like this are so very satisfying lol I just went and broke my rig down just to build it back up again after watching this lol
Wow you got me all excited I placed everything in my cart Amazon and B & H cart a little over $7,000. My question is to you is will this set up work with the DJI RS 2 gimbal?
Hey just Amazing video ...I truly enjoy watching this video...your camera rig is a Beast ..it's all professional cinema setup any clients knows you mean business..be bless 🙌
Actually it is pain in the ass to manual focus pulling when you have such a great af system of sIII. It was years of headache to use manual focus with my a7sII, that's why everybody buys a7sIII, to go for a great AF. Actually I am almost never using manual focus on a7sIII, only in really specific situations
Hi I just found your channel because of your davinci resolve video 9 months ago and I’m switching over as well and I would love for you to make some tutorials for less advanced editors like how to motion track or the basics of color grading
Great rig! I just got my A7s3 this week and am excited by everything, except the USB power, which I'm confused by. The Help manual for the camera indicates that the USB power should be 9V 3A or 9V 2A. I checked your CAME-TV Battery and it says it supplies USB 5V 2.1A. Seems like not enough voltage, but it's working for you. Does it drain your in-camera battery while you're powering it? Thanks! I'd like to power my rig just like yours.
Very good job. I’ve got my own rig, also with one of those small HD monitors - the 5 inch. You’ve got some good ideas in there. Thank you. Also the music really added. It was low-key and tasteful. Many people put on this monotonous music that subtracts from the value.
How would you compare the Sony A7S3 to the red Komodo? If money was not an issue which of these cameras is the more profesional choice for Professional Commercial?
@Ryan Kao awesome. Thanks for the reply. Want to invest in a lens and I am not in the budget to have multiple good ones. So I am trying to find that 1 great all rounder lens thats good for pictures and also video. Thanks for the answer super helpful
@@RyanKao Hi Rayn, thanks for sharing your opinion! Still holding it for the moment because of the nice user interface 😅. Would be great if you could do a direct comparison. Keep going with your awesome work!
I went to check out the Nitze monitor mount bc I like that it mounts to the front of the handle. Which one did you get bc none of the configurations make sense to me in the way you've set them up. I don't see a product that mounts to the front like that. I see cold shoe, two screw mounts and bar mounted
Thats the rig kit what I'm looking for, can we bring it all in gimble 2s or 3s of zhiyun gears. and is that rig suitable for black magic 4k as well. much thanks
thank you very much for this super video ;) do you have an idea what i could do to shoot also high quality social media in vertical with this setup or modification?
Really great video. I have added to my playlist so that I can have the list of gear to buy at once. I have one question though. Which adapter are you using to mount the PL mount lens to Sony A7SIII?
Thanks for this helpful video Ryan! I wonder how you managed to screw the mini matte box onto your freewell filter system. I have got the same setup with 82mm freewell filters and cannot attached these when the matte box is attached. I have to put the matte box directly on the freewell filter base without the matte box adapter ring. Do you have a tip for me how you managed to screw this on so smooth? Keep it up!
I came across this same problem today… What I’ve done is used the 82mm ring which comes with the Tilta Mini Matte Box to create enough seperation to thread the Freewell system. It’s the only ring i can find which lets you attach it to 82mm threads either side. Not ideal, but it works!
Hi Pal, may i know what lens adapter did you used for your cine prime lens for the sony a7s iii as I believe those cine lens was for Canon and PL mounts only, and for the tilta max left hand grip with follow focus wheel, tilta discontinue them too. :(
Looking into the nucleus nano, everyone says the motor can’t handle cine lenses. Is that true? I see you use a nano on a cine. Not that I can afford a cine lense but maybe for in the future lol
Can I have a question about the Freewell NDs? I see you are using 77mm diameter but Smallrig Matt box has 95mm does not it? How do you screw ND to the Mattbox?
The Smallrig matte box uses adapter rings that take a 77mm lens thread and give a 95mm clamp on diameter. However on the outer edge of the adapter is another 77mm thread you can use for filters!
Awesome rig video. Love how detailed it is and how versatile you’ve made it!!

Hey man, do you have a rig build, that allows you to quickly switch to your gimball?
What software do you use to Edit your videos after recording a video with A7Slll? Thanks in advance!
Love the content & read the description! very helpful! What camera did you use to shoot this video?
awesome video! i want a a7siii so bad
Thanks Austin!
wow what package
When do you opt for the autofocus rig vs manual focus?
What would be your 1 budget lens for an A7sII or A7sIII for that matter.
Tamron 28 to 75mm. It's not exactly budget, but it is a lens that could easily last you many years!
@Ryan Kao awesome. Thanks for the reply. Want to invest in a lens and I am not in the budget to have multiple good ones. So I am trying to find that 1 great all rounder lens thats good for pictures and also video. Thanks for the answer super helpful
Great video man, I recently bought the Sony A7C, do you think I could do a similar set up for that camera?
Yes, absolutely you would just need to find a cage that specifically fits the A7C.
@@RyanKao do you know a price, more less, for the whole gear?
Great vid but what kinda lens adapter you used in this video
Question: Why the Small HD monitor and not the atomos?
Really prefer the build quality and UI of the Small HD. Atomos is still good though!
Great video! Thanks a lot. Are you still also using the BMCCK 6K and could you recommend it in 2022?
I actually sold it, but yes I would absolutely recommend it. Great value for the price!

Curious to know what stabilizer your using and what that build looks like? A lot of weight on that camera build
I shoot handheld for a lot of my work. Hence why I've added so much weight to the build. Otherwise I just use a tripod!
Really great video. I have added to my playlist so that I can have the list of gear to buy at once. I have one question though. Which adapter are you using to mount the PL mount lens to Sony A7SIII?
Thanks Krishna! The DZO lens EF mount, I used the Sigma EF-E as the adapter.
That looks like every videographer or photographers dream
Hey Ryan, how long do those Came TV batteries last?
They can power my monitor and camera for a good six hours!
If I had canon cine 50 t1.3 lens and wanted to put it on my a7siii, which lens adapter would you recommend?
Thanks for this helpful video Ryan! I wonder how you managed to screw the mini matte box onto your freewell filter system. at that point id rather have a red, that setup is massive.
Hey Ryan. If you're using the USB c to power the camera via dtap, then how do you connect the top handle's rec button too?
Where didi you buy this long cable to nucleus nano-focus handle?
I've got only the short one and cannot buy longer anywhere...
Are you using DZO Film Vespid Primes on your Sony?
For client productions yes, but for RUclips I mostly use my Tamron zoom lenses.
@@RyanKao nice! I’ll see if I can test them out at some point.

Sigma EF-E

Can I have a question about the Freewell NDs? I see you are using 77mm diameter but Smallrig Matt box has 95mm does not it? How do you screw ND to the Mattbox?
The Smallrig matte box uses adapter rings that take a 77mm lens thread and give a 95mm clamp on diameter. However on the outer edge of the adapter is another 77mm thread you can use for filters!
