hello@tenfoldproduction.com
I generally am not a fan of these cine builds with a smaller camera. If it want a small cam I would use the fx3 and if I need something build out I would prefer an fx6. BUT this is one of the best fx3 builds I have seen. I would totally run this!
Appreciate you! We feel the same, there are things we like better on an FX3 that we prefer over the FX6 ( which we recently sold).
FX6 can be a bit cumbersome if you need some quick specialty shots. The FX3 is great for us because you can always build it up or break it down easier. Smaller profile for gimbal work which doesn't require us to get into the Ronin 2 world.
At the end of the day, it's a solid tool for us and we're a fan of the safety and simplicity (for us atleast haha).
@@TenfoldProductionYes, I think you are spot on about the flexibility. I think I may just use this as a guide for an fx3 build in the near future!!
Love how you're showcasing the essential tools for commercial filmmaking. Your expertise would be great in a behind-the-scenes role, would love to see more content like this.
Really appreciate the break down! Preciate your willingness to share not only your rig, but essentially your years of experience into the "why" for each component. I'm sure this video will help creators' quality of life on set and save them from future mishaps and raised stress levels XD
Thanks Noel! That was definitely the goal, appreciate you watching this.
Would love to know what else you want to see from us in the future.
Great video! Thanks for the feature, and we're glad you are enjoying the baseplate 🍊
Appreciate the support!
Amazing!! Thanks for sharing! Keen to see your gimbal rig setup with cine lens
Coming up soon!
Would you recommend Dzo 21 mm or 25mm for wide ?
@@orbitmotion9872 that's personal preference and depends on the situation (and if you have enough space).
Love this - super well thought out aand cost conscious. Thanks guys
Appreciate it!
I love that you guys still used the fx3 very demure
Thank you, it's a very mindful camera.
This was therapeutic 😌
Thanks! We'll have tons more coming soon
Such a tidy looking rig. Love how easy it is to re-configure your camera package depending on what you’re filming.
This rig setup is the absolute best!
Super informative, thank you so much for making this! I've been wanting to learn more "industry standard" camera building techniques and this was amazing!
Thanks for watching! We appreciate you
Thanks for showing the Shape V-Mount D-Tap plate!
@@HighlyAkicktive appreciate you watching
I would highly recommend Falcam F50/38 baseplate which is compatible with manfrotto, arca swiss, F50 and F38. Also F50 for manfrotto is a time saver with solid clamp power and not many talk about it on youtube.
Thanks for the reccos! Definitely going to check it out$
Thanks, very cool!!!
I was wondering why you have 2 Transmitters on the Camera? the M1 Mars can also Send a video Signal (TX), why do you have the 2nd one on there?
Maybe they need up to 8 Mobiles connected? Or up to 4 Rx
But yeah the Tx seems redundant here
Wondering aswell!
@@jonagoldd @supercon57 my only idea was maybe if they dont have space for the monitor they use the TX, like in tight spacing. But yea still wondering
Same question here. Any issues with using this monitor for tx and monitoring? I thought this is was the use case…
Personally I prefer to keep a sony battery in the camera body and then power the camera with a usb cable
As well as power the monitor and Tx with a DC while leaving a npf-570 plugged in
This way you can hot swap the v-mount without having the power cycle three different devices
Sony alpha bodies (FX3 is essentially an A7S3) are prone to having short term memory and forgetting settings when the battery is pulled so i try to avoid it when possible
It also takes a second for the hollyland to reestablish a link
Its also good in general to keep a battery in the camera as there is a small internal watch battery that remembers the time, if left unpowered for a long period of time it can wear out and it's a pain to replace
agreed , and D tap ?? the riskiest plug in the universe , avoid at all costs .
Amazing setup brother
desser is needed on your audio brother, S sound just pierces our brain
I would love to know your best setup Ronin 🙌🏽
Thanks for your vidéos
Coming soon!
What’s the custom bracket you had on the back of the hollyland transmitter? I know the one it comes with only has one mounting point
Really like the added v lock mod, really cleans up the build
Why use the transmitter and the Mars M1? isnt there a transmitter built into the monitor?
Great setup. Do you use timecode for audio synchronization on set? If so, how do you jam sync the cameras?
How do you power the Nucleus M on the gimbal? Are you always using ring grip with v-mount?
@@Apatura123 we have a gimbal video coming out shortly with all the details
@@TenfoldProduction Awesome! Will be interesting to see
God bless you and, Your family. Jesus loves you.
nice build! that follow focus on the operator side is rough tho lol
Which other camera's do y'all own?
Awesome! Are you guys still using the komodo at all?
Barely ever to be honest. (2x) FX3 + Venice
Small Rig Cages FLEX like no other when using bigger lenses and small rig accesories provide no clearance for focus motors, Tilta cage for FX3 far superior
What’s with the audio this time? Noise reduction gone wild?
Is there a specific reason you are choosing for the FX3 vs the FX6? I own both, so I'm very curious. :)
How do you like that Proaim cart?? Do you trust it when building expensive camera rigs (like your Venice) with expensive glass?
I ask bc the Inovativ carts are so damn expensive and I’ve heard Proaim has QC issues with a lot of their products.
@@StringerBell2002 big fan of them! We own two. We put expensive stuff on it all the time, Venice + nice lenses etc. It's all extremely sturdy.
Really nice build. What’s the lens series do u use ?
Right now vespids or Arles primes.
Also, a while back you did a video on converting your Nikkor AIS lenses. Do you still use them? Im currently deciding if I should invest in some a set of Nikkor lenses, or save a bit more cash and invent in something like the DZO Vespids
We use the Nikkors all the time! They're one of our favourite sets. It depends on the aesthetic you're going for
@@TenfoldProduction Awesome! Good to know :)
This is awesome, will defiantly implement some of these :) One question, is there ever any risk of frying your camera if you power both the monitor and camera with the same power source? I've heard people mentioned it, but maybe only specific camera do this
I've read alot about this as well but seems like it works flawlessly for some people while others have had issues. I err on the side of caution so I power via a separate NPF battery for the monitor but Ideally I would like to do what they've done here from a splitter. Another possible solution would be to have a sharkfin plate so there'd be 2 v-mount batteries with 1 dedicated to the monitor but that might be a little excessive/heavy.
@@derfla100 Thanks! Yes i do the same at the moment, i power the monitor with a NPF. I also read if you power everything on in a certain sequence it will be fine. But like you said, best not to risk it! Good though with the sharkfin, i'll keep it in mind
Awesome video but I could hear just ridiculous amount of echo. Maybe something to look out for! Could have been phase issue if you were on shotgun
@@Shalin.S.Shah. thanks for the heads-up! Will switch to a lav mic next time
@@TenfoldProduction thank you sir. May I add, how inspired I am lookimg at your build! I am sure this came after lot of blood and sweat!
@@Shalin.S.Shah. it did haha! Always apart of the fun

Thanks Walter

@@svecphoto_com hahah yup
Drink: every time he says "System" 🍻
That's a dangerous game haha
best example of worst way to spend your money when a sony Z200 is the most compact camcorder in every way, No mambo jambo, camera ready for job.
Just buy an FX6 and get more than half this shit and much better image quality and actual real AVC Intra codec. Never understood the polishing a turd builds.
@@blackout1111 sold our fx6 already :) didn't need it
