To be honest, the stigma is what bothers me the most. I previously was an active duty Infantry Marine for 9 years. Now I'm Military Police in the Army National Guard and work Security as my day job while also being a full time student. I'm doing what I have to do to pay the bills, and have prevented hundreds of weapons and contraband from getting into my site. But I still get allot of smart a$$ remarks from customers, patients and sometimes even my spouse, That I'm "just security". It's frustrating to know I have so much experience, knowledge and have done so much, to still be seen as just some nobody by the public and my family.
I work for 2 security companies. One pays me $22 and the other pays me $20. I work anywhere from 55 to 99 hours a week it’s the only way to make serious money.
I work in a gated community as a Sergeant. Out department is paid by a POA and we are treated like law enforcement. Carry guns, cuffs, tasers, body armor. Even our uniforms look almost identical to our local PD that we work closely with
I am new to the industry and got shoved into an administer position at a university. I use your videos as a loose guide to shape a shambling, falling apart department into something better
I worked security since 87. I noticed that kids now a days have no training on what to expect. Lot of security schools are charging outrageous tuitions that is not necessary

The emotional aspect kills most officers faster than anything. 20 years Armed Patrol here. I've had more guys quit within their first 2 months from PTSD than anything else. From finding dead bodies, watching people die, almost dying themselves....Doing everything they could to save someone and it fail...... That is usually the reasoning behind officers quitting. You have to have a very thick skin and know how to process everything youre involved in post-shift or it will drive you insane. I quit after 17 years because emotionally..... I wanted no part of it anymore. But......18 months later I came back ...still trying to figure out why lol

My two biggest beefs with Security is that it basically kills my career as a musician. Musicians require regular day jobs with weekends free to play. Life experiences help. The biggest thing in my opinion is the ability to be quiet and simply watch and listen. People will willfully tell you exactly what their issue is, what they want etc. if you allow them, they will literally guide you towards the key to their compliance.
Training is number one! Immerse yourself in as much information as possible to increase your value to both your company, and the profession itself. Second, find the gap. If that’s management or leadership, there’s an area within the company you work for where you can help. Find it, and be the change agent that makes a difference for the better. Lastly, teach. Regardless of your time in security, you have a lifetime of experience and knowledge that is still applicable. Find a way to mentor others and be a leader. Also, download and join the security guard network app. It’s available on Android and iOS! It’s full of great information to help you become a better guard.
I think the other thing that I struggle with is being put in that box. That box that right now says you look like a cop you act like a cop you’re just as bad as a cop. It’s another stigmas
I’m just finding this channel 👋 I’m 21 and looking to make a career in security work. I’m tired of working fast food and I want to see if security work is for me. Do you have any recommendations or suggest any videos you have for newbie’s like myself looking to get into this field?
Watch my top five jobs not to take, why you can’t hack it as a security guard, and the top five benefits of working security. My channel has tons of great info. Welcome to the brotherhood.
To be perfectly honest I think they should just do away with level two non commissioned security guard, because they got so many rules and regulations on them to prevent them from stopping a crime from taking place the only thing that they're good for is to be a human scarecrow that's only existence is to observe and report including unable to carry personal weapons to defend themselves.
Let's be honest they think we are a loser when you mention security guards. I tell people I'm a supervisor for the federal facility and leave it at that.
The stigma of the entire profession right now Bad Managment No encouragement to further training Body judgment based on size big/small Pay hasnt been great for awhile at least in AZ Companies forcing thwur gear on you Gatekeeping and mot helping new guys/girls I mean the list is endless honestly
The number one thing that pushes people out is the danger your put in and the low pay with no benefits people will bounce. I had a guy tell me after taxes and child support he is making $ 9.83 per hour. No ------ way will people stay long making that plus long ---- hours and every holiday we working. The guy is technically making $15.50 per hour.

Do you train for persons all over the world like the country that I am from Jamaica
This is In Mississippi!!!!
I make 18 an hour paid biweekly work 2 days a week 12 hour shifts
I’m just finding this channel 👋 I’m 21 and looking to make a career in security work. I’m tired of working fast food and I want to see if security work is for me. Do you have any recommendations or suggest any videos you have for newbie’s like myself looking to get into this field?

Welcome to the brotherhood.
@@thesecurityguardchannelbeen working security and enjoy it. Came back to your channel for more tips and tricks!
I get sleepy around 330AM.
Are you able to post any websites where we can apply to more contract work ?
Google triple canopy
To be perfectly honest I think they should just do away with level two non commissioned security guard, because they got so many rules and regulations on them to prevent them from stopping a crime from taking place the only thing that they're good for is to be a human scarecrow that's only existence is to observe and report including unable to carry personal weapons to defend themselves.
Let's be honest they think we are a loser when you mention security guards. I tell people I'm a supervisor for the federal facility and leave it at that.
😂
Hilarious
I just say I do private security which is true.
The stigma of the entire profession right now
Bad Managment
No encouragement to further training
Body judgment based on size big/small
Pay hasnt been great for awhile at least in AZ
Companies forcing thwur gear on you
Gatekeeping and mot helping new guys/girls
I mean the list is endless honestly
pay is number one 💯
The number one thing that pushes people out is the danger your put in and the low pay with no benefits people will bounce. I had a guy tell me after taxes and child support he is making $ 9.83 per hour. No ------ way will people stay long making that plus long ---- hours and every holiday we working. The guy is technically making $15.50 per hour.
You make a great point. It’s impossible to argue against it.
Hey you still have my contact information hopefully. Hit me up. I know this is a little short notice but my wife and I were going to be sort of in your neck of the woods tomorrow for her birthday. Well actually her birthday was last week but due to work and everything I had to postpone one of her birthday gifts and she wanted to go out and do some target practice. It would be a low-key thing just she myself and one other person. We were going to do anything heavy like shooting move or anything like that it was going to be semi-casual and I think I was gonna bring a barbecue with us and we could throw on some steaks or something but anyway you are welcome to join us.
I would love to, I’m on doubles through Monday 😩😩😩. I’m only getting one day off a week currently. Email me @ safeportsecure@gmail.com and give me your number. Let’s coordinate something soon down the road. Would love to get my wife and the four of us grab dinner.
If I get enough sleep, I can stay AWAKE AT 3 AM!
This is so true I work at a strip club making a great money and my family be thinking that it’s not worth it 🤣
Strip clubs are worth it in the short term, but not in the end
@@thesecurityguardchannel you right about that, it’s a quick money grab at the end of the day not planning to work there forever tho, I’m trying to be in executive protection
Im in security and ex reservist and the company i worked for never gave me enough time to commit to army enough though i was leaving it fucked me off when they called me last second andni had to cancel plans, i agree with ralationship side and id gladly leave industry for woman , work isnt that important i mean your just number and can be replaced
I will say 4 years in is bad to hate the industry and to be disenchanted by security
Seeing somemof the drips ive worked with i wouldnt trust security guys with dogs nor firearms
