- In today's video I'll discuss my TOP 5 favorite lures for spring bass fishing. I'll put an emphasis on lures that I use while I'm bank fishing. WHY??? Because I don't think bank anglers get enough love! However, these lures work great from a boat or yak as well! I'll discuss lure types, colors, and a few tips for fishing each one!

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.
I love bank fishing it's why I fish its for everyone and any age keep up bank fishing video we love you debo
All I can say is thanks, Debo, for thinking of us bank fishermen. And yes, people in boats who troll by and want to fish your spot are jerks. I have had them break my line and lure off and drive off laughing.
From what I've read the two colors bass can see well are red, and green. I'm sure they can see more than that (but probably less vibrant compared to what we see) but from the studies I've seen bass seemed to notice objects (like food) quickest.
They also ate more overall of the red, and green food than any other color. I don't know what detail they went into but my impression was they dyed some fish food multiple colors, feed the bass than watched as they ate, and recorded which food was ate first, and what % of food they ate of each color.
I don't remember what color it was but there was one which they basically ignored completely be it couldn't see or what.
*It's great caught caught a brown trout on the first cast. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend if it was a little smaller it would be more effective for different species*
Great video. I like that you show the lures in thier original packaging, makes it easier to find in the stores. Thanks for knowledge. Keep up the great work.
Debo I don’t care if it’s a fishing video or a lure video, it just feels good to watch your stuff. I love everything you do. Keep it up!
Fishing in Oklahoma is different than fishing in Ohio. You are literally educating me on how to fish these Northern waters. Thanks for the knowledge.
Thanks for taking the time to make some awesome videos to help us novice bank anglers out.
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
Went fishing for the first time this year, ice is still melting in the bigger lakes up in northeast Iowa, turned out to be a day of just knocking the rust off and enjoying the weather, thanks for the insight Debo 🍻
Dude, I'm lookin' at high-50s on Sunday here in Massachusetts... I can't freakin' wait. I'm gonna load my bag and just go wild.
Same here in CT, can't wait.
@@pikepursuer1808 Same here in Indiana.
How did it go? I hit a very tiny pond and got a nice lil’ bass. High of 62 in my area of CT.
skunked so hard, lol... but man was it nice to be out there throwing some bass lures around
Thank you debo love your videos man keep up the content.
Such a great video Debo!!! I really enjoy the love for us bank anglers!!! My husband and I are strictly bank anglers, so we truly appreciated the love.
Great list, and I can't argue with it. I would add the chatterbait and the stick worm as honorable mentions. I know you mentioned the chatterbait at the end and how it is kind of interchangeable with the spinnerbait. The stick bait, dropped on/around beds also gets 'em going...although it gets 'em going all year round.
I love how you not only give advice but also give everything else about the lure and how they like them thrown.
Took me 3 times to finally finish this video (too much errand) , lots of great advices .
Thanks for the bank fishing run down. I'm in Florida right now and my boat's still in Georgia so I'll be doing a lot of bank/pond and some fishing pier fishing too. Your vid was a great refresher course for those of us who haven't been throwing from the banks recently.
Nice lure video. Love when Mr. Stubs makes a surprise appearance, like a guest celebrity.
Love the love for bank anglers.... getting the Kayak going this year but bank fishing is where i started and I’ll always have love for it.
Trying to support the small time suppliers as well, but I just found a Walmart gift card with a bunch of money on it, so... now I actually have a shopping list to go through in the lure department. 😆Good stuff as always man. You've got so much variety in quality topics between bait making, equipment reviews and repairs, lure options, situational technique specifics. Much appreciate the sharing!!
Love that you're from Iowa and help us because we don't have a ton of places to fish as in Minnesota and Wisconsin
Good video as usual Hawkeye. Hey, could yourself and The Dizzle do a video on fishing the different types of Jigs, how to work them.... Especially the Swim Jig? Thanks
Dude, totally not expecting the shout out! That was awesome and totally appreciated brother! Can't wait to watch when you get some time on the water soon. One of my favorite early spring lures on my home waters is a "naked" chatterbait along the bank around the sparse grass. Give that one a try bud. 👋👊
Always appreciate you watching my friend 👊
Great springtime bank video Debo! Keep em coming. Tackle warehouse has all my money!
They have taken a good chunk of mine too!
Great springtime video Debo. Always dropping those knowledge bombs. Keep up the great content and tight lines brotha🎣🎣
Thanks for the great spring fishing tips. Plus appreciate the bank angler action. Trailers could have been covered more. Always another video. DB
I love the shout out to marling and epic bait molds. Everyone should know about those guys if they're thinking about getting into lure making
They are good cats!
Loving the Bill Dance hat!!!!
Craw and Translucent Wiggle wart. H20 Red Craw lipless. Red and Black skirted Chatterbait with Purple and Green Pumpkin Sweet Beaver trailer. White spinnerbait doubled williow blades. Green Pumpkin Senko Wacky rigged. 2nd week of March. 2nd week after ice off the ponds in Indiana. Bass hit hard. But the fight wasn't in em' No wiggling after being caught. There lips were still red! Caught 15 Largemouth. 3 pound was the biggest. Shawn.
Great tips man. Thanks for sharing what works for you, and your favorites. 🎣👍
Thanks for helping us Bank Anglers out. I just subcribed. Your north of me. I live in Ohio and originally from Oklahoma. Fishing on Oklahoma bas different
Awesome, thanks for watching and subbing 👊
Hey Debo! Solid video as always, you’re my favorite fishing youtuber. Get Debo to 1 million subs!
I'm looking forward to using Super K finesse jigs, I picked up a few can't wait
All of those are what I have tied on as all my rods pretty much all year haha. Awesome video thanks for thinking of us bank anglers.
Another amazing, informative video! Thank you very much! Loving the lipless in spring!
You can get replacement blade kits for the flashy swimmer. They’re my favorite under spin overall since a lot of my lakes are big on grass.
Another great video Debo. Thanks for helping us bank anglers.
How about a more in-depth video on the spinnerbait? You may have already done one and I missed it. I’d like to hear your suggestions on blades, trailers, trailer hooks, and how/when/where to fish them.
Peace!!!
I would like to see a deeper dive on the micro jig. Thanks Debo
I love the boo ya spinnerbaits the run true and they are really affordable like 3 and 4 bucks a piece
I got out today for a little was pretty windy and cold but tomo and sunday looks pretty good
I got a Crosseyez chatterbait in fire craw with a Big Bites Swimon Kamikaze in flamethrower trailer that I can't wait to throw
Great tips Hawkeye! Thanks for the bank love! Solid choices. Nice hair cut! Haha
Lookin so fresh and so clean Debo!! Appreciate the tips.
Always a great video debo u the Bill Dance of UTube
Great info as usual Debo -- Thanks man!!
6th sense Provoke is 🔥🔥🔥 killed on it last year
Cannot wait to see you actually on the water! Almost there!
Great vid!
I just received a tackle warehouse order. Of pulsator spinner baits. And some smaller suspend jerk baits.
thanks for the tips buddy🙌🏽 i haven’t had a chance to ship your package because of work and school ,but i went today and i added a little something extra just for the wait dawg !
Appreciate you sending those goodies my friend. You have some lures in your future 😉
Try the picoso under spin jig they also sell the underpin harness separately so you can pit it on the belly weighted hooks
Lipless crank is my go to
Good info Debo. Happy Friday. Live for the thump! 🎣
Love the videos. Learning so much. Starting to get into fishing and I am learning a lot from these videos. I was wondering what are those bands on your rod sleeves? Awesome content 👍
Kick butt video as usual. Thanks for not having Tackle Junkie on. Huge thumbs up.
Thanks for watching man. Tj is a good dude in my book 👊
Great video me and my son doing some early spring bass fishing last weekend throwing lipless and we caught 24 four of them over 3lbs thanks for the advice
It just so happens, I have all five packed into my back pack already. You nailed it again. Now go catch some feesh!!!
Lots of great baits. Hopefully get hooked up this weekend on some finese and lipless baits. 👍🏻
I enjoy your lure talk how you catch large mouth bass in america im from australia and I catch australian bass love your youtube channel debo and I also do lot of australian bass fishing from the bank
On suspending jerkbaits. Changing the hook size up or down one size will change the depth . 😉
I'm really enjoying your channel a lot, just wanted to let you know. I'm learning a lot, you have a great way of explaining things. You really know your lures and rods, reels, line ect. 👍🎣
Michigander here. Love the Midwest fishing tips!
Thanks for giving me more ideas to spend some money on! Ha!
Thanks for great info Debo!
I got my Berkley Warpigs and my Berkley Jukes ready to go!
Dang man your almost at 100k last time I really wathed was at 50k nice going
Great stuff as usual! Thanks for this!
603Bass did a stream last Thursday (he streams every thurs.) where he broke down how to dissect new water and he breaks down things from the beginner level all the way to the pro level it’s very enlightening especially if it’s still cold where you are and you wanna know where to find bass
I do a mixture of boat and bank angling so appreciate the advice
Great vid! I’ll use small plastics (worms or craws) instead of swim baits. All the rest we use the same things except jerkbaits. I just picked up a handfill the other day and would love to see you throw some from the bank. Haven’t used them very much at all in the past.
I would like to see some more detailed swimbait videos this year from you.
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOMETHING ON THE DIFFERNT TYPES OF SOFT PLASTICS THAT CAN BE USED AS SWIM BAITS??? AND HOW TO RIG THEM?? AND WHERE TO FISH THEM???
Man all our ponds are still covered in ice here in Syracuse, NY🤦🏾♂️ Thanx for this video, I definitely appreciate it✊🏾
Ponds thawing in Elmira
Same here near cortland
Finally open water and sunny in NH, gonna get after em tomorrow
I would love to see how you work a lipless crankbait...I've been fishing my whole life and I still suck at using them! I get hung so much that I just don't bother with them most of the time and I'll just go to a square bill in the same color
I've got a lipless vid coming Saturday!
Great list I would use a Chatterbait instead of a lipless
Hey Debo at what point in the spring time do you start throwing top water? My first time fishing pre spawn and was wondering if the top water bite is based off water temp or just fair game in general?
That is 5 good choices that will put fish on the line. Spinnerbaits during the shad spawn are deadly.
I've been waiting for this video! Sadly I still won't be able to fish since the ice on these ponds and lakes don't want to melt! Just had a nice warm 25° F high day today 🥲
Hooked a 4.8lb LMB for my first bass this year today. In iowa. Fishing is picking up. On a lipless
Those little dippers were my biggest producer last season. Love RI.👊🏽🔥
Love me some little dippers!
That was awesome, DEBO
Good tips again, 👍
Great video any and all information you can supply on how to work the baits . Im sure everyone will appreciate it I know I would
Some great info once again , love your channel
Thank you for watching man!
DEBO!!! 23:09?! Jeeeeeeeezzzz man didn’t realize u liked that spinnerbait that much 🤣🤣😅🥲
Recommendation for the underspins. Tackle warehouse sells tungsten ones. the brands are either vike and also hooligan they work great the blades never break off they also have plenty of sizes
Failed to mention there the screw lock ones
Don't forget the yo-zuri lipless crank baits and lol just giving you a hard time love your content.
Great video as always. I got a question for you how often should a weekend warrior change the line on his reel?🎣🇺🇸🎣
My biggest smallmouth last year came on a jackall rerange jerkbait. Doing the upward pops and letting it sit.
I’d like to see more on the spinner bait. I don’t really fully understand em.
Hey I'd like your opinion on putting on a trailer or swim bait on a spinner jig
Digging the vid my dude. Definitely some solid info #tightlines
Thank ya man, appreciate you stopping over to watch!
I grew up bank fishing and rarely use a canoe or kayak so a useful skill I had to develop was to learn how to cast to almost perfection because you can't simply boat over to your lure.
YES! Been waiting for this
Having great luck with the 6th sense Cali craw lipless crankbait right now. Yamato of course. 6th sense jerkbaits as well.
Debo! Do you ever do any saltwater fishing???
Awesome vid Debo 👌
Try the ballin out jigs by buckeye I love them. Id love to hear your review
Thanks
