The Fastenal curse has been a thing longer than we thought
Making someone watch the whole 2013 Daytona 500 would be considered torture
Not that hard, I watched the whole thing as a six year old
Not for a Jimmie Johnson fan lmao
@@norightturns6847 bingo 🤣🤣🤣 yeah that shit was boring but my nigga jj got one more 500 lol
@@norightturns6847 I've watched this race 3 different times 😂😂😂 (I'm a Jimmie fan)
I kinda think the *SNAKE* is interesting
I went to the 2013 Daytona 500...didn't go to another 500 again until 2018 and haven't missed a year since
Bro same I don't know why I never got the memo they were selling the tickets this year, I also go to the summer race every year and they were playing some game where they would sell tickets and then refund them and then move the seat pattern around because of covid-19, and I remember reading somewhere they were going to announce a date for when they were going to sell the tickets for the 500 this year, called in and was told they were sold out, 3 years in a row and finally have to miss one due to ticket games.
Its worth the drive to go to a race at Atlanta. Just throwing that out there.
@@joecephus_3668 I really would love to go to Atlanta I have been to talladega 3 times because I only live about two hours away also really would love to go to darlington and Martinsville.
@@robertrobinson1111 bristol!!!! how could bristol not be in your list? ive been to daytona. its literally a blur in person. if your not going and camping in tbe infield or getting. a pit pass. it is not that great. all you can see is a blur passing. the best part of daytona is staying there hanging out. otherwise its really only fun cuz your at something that is so special. your kinda at the place to be. plus when you get to daytona and go under that famous sign in the city its kinda neat. besides for bristol not being on your list you have a great list
I’ve always wanted to go, in 2022 I’m taking a trip out there and staying for all of speed week.
This felt like the longest speedweeks ever cuz of the Gen 6 testing
Yeah I remember being super excited for the Gen6 car.... til I realized it's really just a slightly better looking COT.
@@captainnebulous2918I honestly liked the look of the COT cars more then the gen 6 cars. Early gen 6 at least
I reckon the 1994 Speedweeks was a bad Speedweeks as well. Several severe accidents across the various series and sessions, doubts and concerns about the return of the tyre war between Goodyear and Hoosier and the shock of the deaths of Neil Bonnet and Rodney Ore left a heavy atmosphere all Speedweeks that year
2013 Speedweeks was nowhere near as bad as 1994.
So we get a video talking about the second worst Daytona 500, followed by a video about Carl Edwards' horrendous 2012 season, and now we have a video involving BOTH Carl Edwards' bad luck ON TOP of one of the worst speedweeks ever.....
*GENIUS!*
Dude, I miss Carl Edwards.
I definitely think something transpired between the final race and his retirement announcement. And its been kept secret.
Remember, in his season ending interview he verbally mentioning looking forward to the next season. Then he retired out of the blue. Something happened. I am 99% sure of it.
@@BDLforever24 I do remember that interview and I was 100% expecting him to race the next year. I always felt like he knew something we didn't and rather than making it public, he just retired. I thought he was at least going to be an announcer because of his awesome personality, but that didn't happen either. It still kind of baffles me.
@@BDLforever24 It's because he decided that he wanted to focus on his wife and raising a family. Being in NASCAR Cup typically only gives you one full day a week to be at home during the season. But even the off-season is really only 1 month long for the drivers, even though fans think they're all on vacation from November to February lol.
Gone Too Soon: Carl Edwards.
@@BDLforever24 I read something on Reddit that was something of a conspiracy theory that whoever had pushed Daniel Suarez in the beginning gave Carl a huge payoff to retire so Daniel could get that ride.. not sure how true that it was but maybe?
Brian Keselowski in the 52? Michael Waltrip in the 26?
Damn. Time flies doesn't it.
Mikey rented one of his cars to Brandon Davis who bought out Stremme’s Daytona start and gave it to Waltrip
@@TheLocalLt Gotcha
So it CAN be done
Gaunt/Ty or Beard Oil/Noah, PLEASE buy out Cope
Love the fact Penske didn’t have primer schemes just went all out
You know exactly why this happened...we do, too *stares in Fastenal*
Fastenal: *on the car*
Carl Edwards: *wrecked in all of them...*
Idk about you but I smell something *very unprofessional...*
Business is serious
The Fastenal Curse, & a S1apSh0es reference...I love it
@@PeytonManning187 it is a internet historian reference
@@andrewwinslow9315 I 1st heard it from him. Ah well. Either way...it’s funny.
very unprofessional, darian...
As a Ford fan, and him being one of my favorite drivers back then, it felt like he always had a damaged car after being on track those two weeks
1994 was much much worse, because we lost Neil Bonnett and Rodney Orr
I agree because it was worse that we lost two legends
1994 was a rough year for racing in general. Lost Senna and Ratzenberger in F1 too.
@@Rolandminer1 oh yeah. i forgot. and the split was announced
@@Rolandminer1 yeah I agree
This is actually the correct answer.
BFM why do you make me relive these things
single file up against the wall is literally the most infuriating thing ever and when someone "makes a move" they go straight to the rear
Props for the GT2 soundtrack. It fits your narration perfectly
The video should’ve been named “Carl Edwards bad luck of the 2013 Daytona speed weeks” he was able to go dominate and went out phoenix like he said he would the next week too
Videos like this one make me want to actually start watching racing even though I’ve never really been into it
Watch it! The Busch clash this year should be great
Speed week 1994 the worst ever lost Neil Bonnett
And 2001
Rodney Orr died as well
Thanks for paying actual attention to audio consistency in your newer videos. The audio levels between narration and archive clips is pretty spot on and consistent now. I was watching your "unluckiest rookie" video 5 minutes ago and the narration is loud as hell compared to the clips. Very nice improvement. I wish more RUclipsrs would get the audio memo.
The fact that he didn’t crash in the Unlimited is a miracle
I left the Nascar community a while ago came back and my god what a amazingly produced video keep it up
Yup this was the sign of things to come with Carl at Roush outside of his decent 2014 season. 2012-2014 was tough to get through as a Carl Fan.
Great video, really enjoying the content on this channel! Also, Carl Edwards clearly has the BEST backflip in racing.
Yeah, Because Hemric cant win.
Mark Webber, eat your heart out.
I like how you just put out a Bad Season Video on Carl Edwards and then we get this 😂
Carl Edwards' 2013 Speedweeks is basically Martin Truex Jr. across restrictor plate tracks. 9 wrecked cars in the last 10 races.
Carl was always a bonehead on plate tracks. Remember Talladega 2008?
Wrecking 5 cars in the span of about a month. Sounds like a job for Lance Stroll or Pastor Maldonado.
Or Danica Patrick.
That 55 car the OG NASCAR fans remember that bad wreck at homestead
Cursed hearing Rick Allen in the fox booth
2013 was pretty dull for Speedweeks and I don't remember a single noteworthy thing about any of it.
The busch race was crazy but yeah
The Speedweeks where I called the roof flaps cookie sheets
I'm not sure there has been any driver in history with poorer luck than Carl Edwards.
A rule of thumb to follow is "If Carl Edwards is involved in the highlight, there's a 99% chance it's going to go bad for him."
Carl Edwards' 2012 season carried over to 2013 Daytona Speedweeks
4:00 four of the five are former Roush teammates
1994 was the worst speedweeks
Future video suggestion idea- Charlotte and the 2005 Levigation Debacle
94 was way worse as we lost 2 drivers. You could say the most bland or boring instead.
"Nice as Carl Edwards?"
Imagine a booth with DW, Larry Mcreynolds and....... Rick Allen.
*"Hmm, I'm sensing the teeniest bit of... what is that? Bias, perhaps ?"*
lol kenseth acting like its' the final corner of the last lap on that second crash.
This isn’t even close to the worst speedweeks ever.
I SEE YOU WITH THE GT2 MUSIC OKAAAAYYYYYYYY
Man that entire 2013 speedway package was just meh I didnt really like it
Spring Talladega was the only good cup plate race that year
@@NascarRacingFan5 No Fall Talladega was good as well
@@evannuh-koo-la4054 all I remember from that race was a bunch of single file racing and Austin Dillon catching air when he and jr tried to pull out of line
@@NascarRacingFan5 I've watched that race twice, and it's better than you think
Even as terrible 2013 speedweeks was for Carl Edwards, he still went on to have a solid year. Ran 2nd-3rd in points for most of the season despite not being as dominant as Jimmie, Kyle Busch, & Kenseth, he was rather very consistent much like Clint Bowyer was that same year as both drivers ran 2nd-3rd in points A LOT in 2013. Though Edwards wound up having a rough playoffs, thus finishing 13th in points.
One thing that caught my eye in this video is bot the RPM cars had their sponsor rather than the number on the doors of their cars.
I have pieces of one of Carl's cars from this speedweeks! One of the practice crashes
I am literally crying.
We need more "worst" type videos.
2021 says hello. LOLZ
nice plan denny
Alternative Title: Worst Speedweeks: Carl Edwards 2013
Damn you newman...
This doesn’t even mention the sprint unlimited, where Carl had a side window come out of the car. Even if he didn’t wreck it didn’t help him.
For April fools you should do a NASCAR bust video on Brian Waycrest from Talladega nights.( The guy who replace Ricky bobby in the wonder bread car.)
As a young carl fan I have never heard of this and I am trying to figure out why he retired is this part of it?
No this was like 4 years before he retired
5:23 Spoke too soon, Mike Joy
Damn I remember that wreck wasn’t the greatest day in Carl life
You mean worst day?
Should rename the title to "The Worst Speedweeks For Carl Edwards"
Bruh the first wreck was not Carl. You can clearly see that the car behind is a Chevy and if you look closer it has the 88 on the door. Just to clarify the broadcasters are saying Carl turned the 9 correct?
Okay Fox finally figured out that Jr turned the 9 and the 99 just got doored lol. I was like am I crazy!
Everyone: This is one of the worst Daytona 500s ever
Jimmie fans: This is one of my top 6 favorite races of the year
Hey man
Harvick won from 34th in 2007 and Kenseth 39th in 2009
I wanna make videos like you, where do I start?
The definition of if he had bad luck,he'd have no luck at all.
Time for the 2021 Daytona 500
as much as the 2013 500 sucked, I was a JJ fan so back then my biased ass would have told you it was amazing
Its that Fastenal curse
Fastenal curse 👀
The second worst speedweeks should be Jimmie Johnson 2018.
Championship Seasons Jeff Gordon 1997
Good Seasons Jeff Burton 1997
Bad Seasons Darrell Waltrip 1997
Lets Be Honest , Carl Edward's 2013 Speedweeks Is Litterally Carl Edwards 2012 Season 1.5
Future uploads: Is NASCAR Returning To Nashville Superspeedway The Real Deal and Championship Seasons: Matt Kenseth 2003.
wait rick allen on fox what is this a cross over episode
5:37 "21 spun us" uhhhhhh you sure about that?
2013 first few races were just bad enough tbh
You've obviously never seen the 2000 speedweeks that was 10 times worse then 2013.
BFM: The worst Speedweeks
1994: Bet
Idk the Xfinity race was pretty solid
I hate that know it’s literally just speedweek instead of speedweeks. And all of the hype is gone, 2016 and back were the last good speedweeks.
Kyle larson Going in the catchfence the in the xfinity series race was the only entertaining thing about that speedweeks
Wait, Larson did cup in 2013? #42 was still JPM's that year.
the two people that disliked this video are Carl Edwards and Jack Roush
Title could be different. You dont talk about the speedweek. More about carl edwards. Good video tho
How did Kenseth save that?
Edwards speed weeks was not too good. The testing, the Clash race, the duel race and the 500 not for Edwards. But it became better when Edwards won Pheonix after the Daytona speed week.
Carl Edwards had a horrible speedweeks
I don’t see the 2013 500 the worst I enjoyed it I don’t care if anybody didn’t like it I love it.
I mean, I'd also call it the worst speedweeks on the grounds that most of the races were pretty bad.
I think 1994 was a far worse Speedweeks for everyone involved.
But yeh. 2013 sucked for Carl.
Whos everyone's pick to win the Clash
How many passes for the lead did the entire weekend have?
Prolly like 5
Well for everybody who wants the NASCAR Busts on Michael McDowell...unfortunately it just went down the crapper because he won the crapshoot
I'm pretty sure Harvick started 34th for his Daytona 500 win in 2007. Just saying.
If I had the money and COVID wasn't here I'd go to all.races. I hate a fairweather fan.
Carl Edwards, nice? Have you forgotten the confrontation between him and Kenseth, or him and Harvick? Or better yet, almost killing Keselowski?
Is "coming out party" the best phrase?
speedweeks 1994 was the worst speedweeks.
Fastenal Curse!!!!
Fuck I miss speed
Are teams lazy or overachievers when they bring a full paint scheme to a test🤔
