Dodge Charger not Challenger.
Everyone loves Chargers! Nothing beats 2008 Chargers. (and of course the classic Daytona Chargers)
Ryan Newman Nascar 05 chase for the cup intro, Newman the stalker and his viper
We don't drive pony cars
Thank you for correcting as a hard core car guy i hate seeing the charger and challenger mixed up
@@JulianWall how hard core are you bro?
My heart skipped a beat for a second when I read the title
Same lmao
Saaame
Well maybe
Whenever I think of Dodge, I immediately think of *Evernham’s 9 car* first... 🔥
Awesome that y’all got to interview Ray!
Same. Either Elliott/Kahnes 9s or Atwood and Mayfield 19s.
Ray has honestly been one of the most important people in motor sports history. It’s so cool that you got him on honestly. Great video!
I miss Dodge in NASCAR. Those Evernham 9 and 19 schemes were always amazing
Best year for Dodge was 2002 by far: It won the Daytona 500 and Brickyard with two different drivers. Dodge almost won the cup with Marlin and they also racked up a major with Jamie Mac in his 2nd race.
1975
That is too cool you got Ray Evernham to help out with this vid and even more cool you and The Iceberg have the same sponsor
And please do Championship Seasons: Brad Keselowski 2012 considering that it was Dodge's final season in NASCAR for the foreseeable future
Comes for the Dodge NASCAR retrospective.
Stays for the Nirvana “Dumb” instrumental.
Actually, Buddy Arrington was loyal to Dodge until either 1983 or 1984 and that was because NASCAR forced him to change.
Marty Robbins always ran Dodges as a part-timer - even when they weren't competitive.
And Arrington built Dodge engines for Petty right before they went to Evernham engines in ‘05
The gen6 Dodge was a thing of beauty. It’s so sad it never made it into competition.
There was a RUclipsr that found and bought one of the R&D mules of there gen 6 charger, I very much hope they still have it and plan to build it up in some form
My favorite Dodge memory I have to say was that 2001 Daytona 500. I was 12 at the time. I remember Ward Burton being so strong and such a dominant car. When I saw him caught up in the big wreck, I remember sitting there thinking wow, Ward WOULD have won this race. I had only been watching Nascar for a couple years at that point, but that moment represented the beginning of me really starting to understand the sport and know what is going on. That's why it was my favorite memory.
The best thing out of Petty and Dodge in 2001 was that 45 paint scheme. I've got the diecast of it. It's sexy.
Also the Blaney car was great too. God I love some of these Dodge schemes.
The sad part was the driver, Adam Petty was supposed to drive that car and bring that team back to the promised land, but due to his tragic dead all that never happen.
@@acegarcia3719 Yeah I know, he made his Cup debut at Texas 2000 when Jr. Won his first race. I can only imagine how crazy it would have been to see Adam Petty be in there with Johnson, Stewart, Kenseth, and Junior for 20 years.
To be honest pretty much every scheme in those days were awesome.
Would've loved to have seen that Charger out on the track
Dodge's return to Cup racing was 😎 but the Richard Petty superbird era was the most exciting era. The cars were wild looking and the Hemi ruled the tracks!
Don't forget iceberg wears them during his marathon.
Iceberg needs to get laid.
@@fearandloathingmedia2051 He has a gf
If only there was a composite body for the Challenger so that the Zombie Dodges could live on
I have a new series idea! Iconic Finishes: 2003 darlington spring race
Totally agree...I was happy for Ricky Craven when he scored that W.
There are a lot of videos on that.
I hope Dodge comes back someday
me to
I grew up "It's Mopar or its no car!" so I miss seeing Dodge out there on the track. Let's hope the next gen car opens the door for there return.
I loved that championship in 2012 but those challengers in the nationwide and xfinity series r my favorite cars ever in nascar so far.....
Great music choice man in Dumb by Nirvana, one of my favorite artists! Dodge has been a fixture in NASCAR for the longest time even though they’ve been gone for almost ten years. I hope the come back again as I miss seeing those Chargers on the track.
I have a 01 Dodge Neon Dodge Motorsports Edition which was a Commemorative Edition for Dodge going back into NASCAR
I wish Stacy Compton would have had a bit more success. I've been rewatching all of his truck races recently. That RC Cola paint scheme is so iconic
I would love for Dodge to get back into NASCAR. Four manufacturers would be awesome for competition. Hopefully this new car will cost effective for them.
I would love to see you cover Brads 2012 Championship.
Maybe one day down the line, dodge will make a return to NASCAR once again. This probably won’t happen for another decade or so, but still. A man can dream can’t he
I bought a red Intrepid back in the day cuz of the stuff in this video. I put the big ram logo on the hood and "Dodge" logos all over it. I loved that car.
Yeah, Ray rocks. Good show.Don't sweat dab, someone I like, love,or respect, I'll shake, been caught tangled, rather dap. Cleaner.More stuff! Go see Bobby A. and ask about northeast and Catamount stadium, airbourn, etc. Twas a reg.
I miss watching the red 9 and Rays team every week
Same. Outside of my favorites RCR and Roush Evernham Motorsports was one of my favorite teams
Hopefully with the Gen 7 car next year maybe Dodge can make a comeback.
Seeing that car it makes this of Bill Elliot and Casey Kane
I’m a dodge guy and remember idolizing Richard Petty with his Plymouth of the 60’s and the chargers of the mid 70’s even though i was born in 2002, seeing the rams in the truck series made me wanna own a NASCAR race car. My favorite memory really isn’t a “ dodge” moment but a character of “freak”
In 1970 I was on the infield at Talladega those Mopars sounded like thunder rounding the turn. Driver's don't have to work the throttle in order to round the bend any longer.
DARIAN WITH THE AD READ LETS GO
I miss Ray, even in the booth. Or pre-race show on ABC or ESPN
You got a SPONSOR!!
If Dodge ever comes back to nascar, they probably would use a hellcat body style for the car
Any idea where can I find the Dodge/Evernham/Bill Elliott Press Conference video?
The one where Bill peeled off the 4 (shown at 6:50 ).
If it helps, can anyone send a link.
to think Dodge could've had their first championship in their second year if Sterling Marlin didnt get injured at Kansas
I very distinctly remember seeing a Nascar race from this season on the X-Files and immediately recognized it as a race I had actually watched lmao
Melling always ran #9. When ray wanted the number for Bill, Melling chose #92, or 9 as well
Hey maaan just raced with you on PlayStation awesome time!!!
0:14 that’s a charger Daytona my guy
Evernham interview! Very impressive!
As much as I love Jeremy Mayfield, Ray did Casey dirty.
Dodge returning to Nascar was the reason I started watching Nascar in the first place. Was devastated when they announced they were leaving. Still watch Nascar but don't enjoy it as nearly as much since they left and don't really root for any particular team or driver. Hope they return in the future but I don't see that happening. They are not nearly as big of a car company as they were back in 2001. If it weren't for the charger and challenger I don't think their other vehicles would sell enough to keep the brand going especially now that their pickup truck line is now it's own separate brand.
Favorite dodge moment.....Bill Elliott back in victory lane in that #9 Dodge intrepid.
The first scene calling the wing car a Challenger was bothering me...It was a DAYTONA CHARGER..and Plymouth Superbird!!!
Not sure if you can request videos or not but could you do one covering Turner Motorsports vs Reed Sorensen
Seeing Kasey Kane race his first few seasons in the Doge sponsored by Doge was something, he was favorite after Rusty Wallace retired, Rusty was a very good announcer since he got to race in the first version of COT not the odd thing they are racing in now.
I would think that In Cup racing for NASCAR we are not going to see a New Manufacture enter but see an old one back like Doge or GMC. Perferably Doge since GMC cars most of the cars they make are exactly the same as Chevy cars but GMC cars are better better built in factory using better parts, they tend to last longer when seeing these cars on the road.
My man, you can't drop a title like that with the new car coming! I almost spit my drink out thinking the Challenger was coming into Cup.
I love the nirvana song lol
It's a tie for me with my favorite Dodge return moments in NASCAR. Both of which were Bill Elliott wins. The first was his win at Homestead in 2001. That was an incredible win for me and a validation of my fandom of him. The other one was when he won the Brickyard 400 the next year. It was a dominant victory and a major win for both Bill and the brand. 2002 was a great year for Dodge in general. Like Ray said, Sterling Marlin was in contention to win the championship up until his injury, they won the Daytona 500 with Ward Burton, and they also had Bill winning the Brickyard. Impressive feats for an impressive year and it was the year they showed they were in it to win it.
Dodge: A manufacturer that has built ludicrous and badass cars like the Daytona and the Viper to show the world how cool they were.
I'm STILL waiting on that 10000 RPM, naturally-aspirated, 8 liter V10 Viper. NASCAR 2005 better not be lying to me. If so, I'm a bug-eyed dummy.
To me, Penske made a mistake letting Dodge withdraw after 2012. To be fair, Penske has been very sucessful with Fords since 2013, no doubt about it. But I think it was a missed opportunity to have a single manufacturer all to himself, similar to how Toyota has been almost exclusively to Joe Gibbs Racing. It makes me wonder how things could've played out if Dodge had stuck around after 2012
What music is in the background? I know its a nirvana instrumental but I cant pin point the exact song.
i got one i remember is when i race inside iracing and win same race whit the dodge same whit all petty and dale ,kulwiky is the best and lot time i use the paint
Damn good interview boys!
Seeing how good the next gen car looks, I’d love to see a concept of how the new charger would like in next gen form.
0:14 he really just called the Charger Daytona a Challenger
just think, Brad K was the last driver to win a championship for Dodge
Dodge and Pontiac man. Dodge and Pontiac
Great video! Its not the same without Dodge.
2:37 hey look it’s Chad Knaus.
I do hope dodge comes back and hopefully ray evernham
If Dodge were to make yet another return to NASCAR, it would once again be a sport of #BeerandMopar, and I would fully embrace it. Who knows, maybe another old manufacture of the sport, such as Buick, could possibly make a return someday. Hey, you never know. The possibilities are endless with the Next Gen car.
The dodge return was the beginning of the end of the good old days of nascar. While the Taurus was based on a 4 door car, it resembled the actual car.
The intrepid did not resemble the actual car other than part of the nosecone.
They also did not use a stock based block as Ford and chev had to.
They got to build a from scratch engine with the best parts of the other 2 manufacturers engines. NOTHING from a nascar dodge could fit any dodge engine ever produced.
This led the way for Toyota to come in and build a car that was not a "stock car" with an engine that only existed for use in nascar.
And now we have 100% fabricated bodies that look nothing like a stock car that are so slick they are "too fast" and pure racing engines, that now make a terribly low amount of power.
Where is the footage from the #94 Evernham reveal from?
@nickman912 Thank you!!!
rayCONS good video the promotion aside
If we could get rid of the charter system get it through NASCAR's head that they need to leave the number alone and these teams heads then yeah
Was that Dumb by Nirvana playing in the intro?
SRX PLUG! I love it
I hope Dodge Returns to NASCAR ASAP. I loved Kasey Kahne getting his 1st Win in a Dodge
Intro song sounds like nirvana
What was the intro music?
What a fantastic video
Good day bfm
When Ward Burton won the Daytona 500
That bumphandshake at the end was so cringe lol
That red 9 is a god tier scheme.
Awesome video. Thanks
I LOVED the return of Dodge. The start with the Intrepid, then Charger. They REALLY need to return. return. NASCAR needs more manufacturers WITH various models from each.
Dodge actually WANTED Elliott though.
*charger* I get this alot since I own a challenger
Was Isaac's Bonneville record in the orange K&K Dodge Charger Daytona broken already?
i came here by accident to scuff up the blacks but here i am watching nascar videos
So in order to get DODGE to get back... a contract manufacturer from some team has to be finished with their current contract or have some crew chief retire and chose a elite past champion to take the reigns...geez...sounds like that's hard to repeat again. 😒
That 94 looked great.
Wait! Was Brad Keslowski's favourite driver Sterling Marlin? Because i just noticed they both carry a American flag and wave it about in victory lane. That's based AF
I wouldn't mind at all Dodge coming back. The more the merrier. Honda is probably more realistic right now. Since they are going Hybrid in the future maybe Tesla would come in too? Lol
I would welcome any manufacturer foreign and domestic.
I want Dodge back just to see a gen 7 Challenger
Save dat money is by Lil Dicky bro
I would like to see dodge return. Bring that charger, challenger, and ram truck back to nascar power by mopar
21:22 😬
13:59 we've seen this particular video
Do you think the GM homies @ NASCAR would allow Dodge to bring a production Hemi ??? No Way......
Nice music!
Yo...the car of the early '70s was a Daytona Charger....not Challenger!
I think Dodge was pushing Casey Atwood harder after they lost Adam Petty.
The problem with Dodge rejoining racing is they would have to share technology with them, along with cutting their stock horsepower to meet the rules.
Everyone has to cut their stock horsepower for alot of tracks. It's part of the issue with nascar they refuse to change and get away from shitty rules packages
Man I wish dodge came back to nascar
I can paint what "Brand " on a generic POS.
No big deal, still not what I consider Racin
