Some relative, knowing I like the Simpsons, gave this to me on the Game Gear for Christmas back in the 90's. It was just as bad as the NES version, except slightly worse music and you had to play it on a 2.5 inch screen. I could never beat it back then, and if I never play it again, it'll be too soon.
I remember when I got really sick , I watched the Legend of Zelda randomizer playthrough in one shot. That made a terrible day into one I remember fondly. But i like these "the best run" videos too, well done and thankyou for the content. This game was brutal!

Hey Mike, I watched this stream on Twitch, and you mentioned not wanting to play through Bart Vs The World because of the sliding puzzles. Lucky (or unlucky) for you they're actually completely optional. The only purpose they serve is to get extra lives. Same goes for the other mini games. Only the platforming stages are required to open up the boss fights. There's also a hidden level you can unlock in World 4 if you collect every hidden artifact up to that point (and beating it changes the ending), but I couldn't tell you where any of them are.
@@mikematei Just don't select them. If you finish each platforming level the boss fight (indicated by the EXIT sign) will open up. Beat the boss and you'll move on to the next world.

So I'm playing Path of Neo and I'm at the MC Escher part trying to focus jump around this madness and I say out loud "Man, this jumping is so hard to work with." At that moment I look at Mike on my phone jumping on dinosaur bones in Museum and I smile and say "What the fuck am I talking about? I have no right to complain here." Love ya Mike.
Man, fuck this game. Couldn’t get past the museum as a kid. The fucking dinosaur part. The platform hit boxes… the visuals and where you can actually stand do not line up at all. I haven’t gone back to it since then, but you’ve motivated me to conquer this bullshit game.
I don't know how I ever got through that Power Plant level as a kid, but I figured it out and beat this game. Not because it was good, but because we owned it.

Appreciate it, but I don't do this for popularity. I just like playing games and I appreciate when people leave quality comments about the playthroughs. This channel has way more subs and views than I ever expected and I'd be fine with it if it was half as many. It's nice that so many people seem to care though.

I don't think I hardly got passed the first stage in this game. I do remember it took me a while to figure out what to do on that stage of getting rid of the color purple, as I guess I didn't have the manual even though I owned the game.
I had this game as a child and never could get past the museum. It is hurtfully difficult for a child-aimed licensed Nintendo game. And what child could be expected to ever make it past that last level? I didn’t mind hard games as a child but this is a bit much. I decided to try Bartman NES last night and it might be more enjoyable than this one. Although I am save scumming my way through it, so there’s that. One thing about these games is there are some fun art design choices. I love the tyrannosaur in the museum level which is as far from a Simpsons character design as you can get.
The museum was hard for me also. When I finally completed it though the last level didn't seem nearly as hard. Bart vs the World was much more difficult with the tedious platforming in some areas.
I rented the game once when it came out. I got stuck on the first level, and gave up. I don't think I ever figured out where some of the items were, and having only rented the game, it wasn't worth my time.
Back in the day we were all baffled about this game, not one single person i ever knew growing up could get anywhere on it, who knows why they decided to make it next to impossible.

You’d have to talk to people on the bus or at lunch and maybe maybe get some clues or wait till Nintendo power came out.
I saved up $45 to buy this game back in the day, and never could get past the stupid museum. I feel like vicarious payback watching this. Even then, watching the fight against the dinosaur was as stressful as it ever was. One thing I don't like about these old games is the way they intentionally used your frustration and dwindling patience against you by sending you back. Like, give me a shot to do the thing I failed at, don't make me want to rush through a bunch of jumps again. The more it happens, the more I want to rush, and then the more I die and the closer I come to smashing a controller and threatening to do evil things to the developers. It's weird how all the imagination of this game is just in the first level. And then none at all in any of the other games.

at Level 2 once you reach the moving platforms you can jump up 3x times at the second one and it will get you to the end :)
