There’s so much money being left on the table due to folks thinking that “washing cars” is a demeaning thing😂😂😂😂 I promise you your business will feed you well when you keep it simple… offer the washes and upsell the service for a full detail later on…. The Wash is the appetizer lol
I wouldn’t be opposed to charging $50 and I started off like that but at some point you realize 1.5-2 hours for $50 is wild specially if you are doing good work and detailing parts like inside the gas lid, wheel barrels, ac vents, trunk jam, hood jam etc. after running your machines, using chemicals and your time, $50 doesn’t leave much of a profit. At least not in CA. I don’t know where you’re at but here charging that will drive you out of business unless you do quick car wash and no attention to detail.
This is good, savvy business advice. I looked it up and $50/hr is 78% more than the median hourly wage in the US as of 11/23. So you're making more than almost ALL non-professionals no matter what they do. Not bad for washing cars...just sayin' . Keep bringin' the 🔥 Derrick!
I've tried to offer to some people. but they want to pay $50 and they they hit me with I want the same as the carwash I go to. which is pay 50 and get unlimited washes for the redtof the month. I'm like 😂😂😂😂😂 yeah you keep going to that carwash I'm OK with not washing your car.
I think that’s why professionals start saying details not car wash. When you hear car wash you think of what you typically do in 30 minutes driving it through and a quick vacuum. I stay away from saying “car wash” because really if you are paying attention to details like the wheel barrels, wheel well, fuel door, door jams etc etc then that’s a detail and should be priced as such. People who want cheap prices are a headache. They get picky, ask for free add ons and discounts. At the $80 and above price point they even tip you and those clients usually value your work .
This is facts, I do basic inside and out details now but going to push that $50 wash more and just bust those out easy
