This movie and this song changed my life forever. I was a child when I saw it for the first time. Now I’m 40 and I still crying every time I hear this. Thank you Ennio, you will live forever 💔
This piece captures the sadness within both The Whale And Nolan. The pain and the loss they both felt after losing their families. In a way, they are both the same. (In the movie, you discover that Nolans' family was killed by a drunk driver.) Ennio Morricone captures the soul of the characters as much as the movie captures the scenes. A beautiful soul touching piece of music. BRAVO Senor Morricone!!!
The film was masterpiece. Soundtrack is splendid. Thanks to all team who worked for the film in front of the scene and behind the scene. Thank you for sharing.
This movie and the sound track is my all time loved. at the beginning of the movie when it showed the whales breaching the water and just loving to be with each other. the movie itself is the greatest ever. The human emotion when Richard Harris's character wanted so badly to apologize for what he did to the male whale. And the whalesdtermination to avenge his family. great story.
I’m amazed this movie got shredded by critics calling it a Jaws ripoff and trying to argue that orcas don’t kill. Amazing though how no one criticized Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds though trying to argue that birds don’t attack. Just goes to show many critics don’t know what they are talking about. SMH I always loved this movie and the music score is brilliant. This and David Shire’s score for “Return to Oz” which was another film that flopped are amongst my favorites.
After is revenge was done an his rage gone he had nothing left but devastation and loss and drowned himself under the ice..everythg he ever loved was stolen from him..what's the point of moving on? So sad :(((((
@@actuary1233Is that what happened? I felt the Orca's fate was never defined. I just assumed he swam away into the Atlantic after he killed Capt. Nolan.
So grateful to have found this music. I remember recording it off the TV back in the 80's because I wanted to hear it again. I loved this movie and the music was a big part of it. The part where the male is pushing the female after she dies made me cry harder than almost any movie I've seen and the music just pushes you over the edge. THANK YOU for this!!
❤ I watched this movie as a kid bk in the 70s and remember the theme making me very emotional 😢 and some 40 year's later I'm still going omg 😢 but it's lovely to, never gets old 🎉❤

Sorry for your loss. But also glad you shared some very special times together. This is good music to remember your dad by. Enjoy the richness and the depths of this glorious music, as you remember your wonderful Father, my friend.
this melody, and the movie have been moving me, and haunting me, since a was 15. i m 35 now, and Ennio's music still is talking to my soul. And It's telling me we did, and are doing something terribly wrong.
i loved the movie. quite tragic what was done for the orca to go on a rampage :( and this music brings on so much emotion in my heart. why couldnt the hunter leave the orca family well enough alone!!!
i will never forget this wonderfull movie and amazing soundtrack , when i listen to this soundtrack i feel peace i feel glory i feel happy i feel so good its so amazing
I agree with you insofar as the music, but the movie, although rough around the edges, had many lovely, deeply-touching scenes that when combined with Ennio's score, could really melt your heart.
I've been a Morricone fan for years and I just discovered this piece yesterday. God it's sad and beautiful. If you're reading this, be sure to hear "We Are One," too, the vocal restatement of the theme.
I am 58 yrs old & saw this fantastic, but heartbreaking movie when l was 17 at the DRIVE IN with my Dad, & two siblings. I still will watch it when it airs & truly makes me cry everytime. That poor Orca lost his mate & his baby. What father wouldn't want to destroy the one who caused it. Orcas are beautiful, leave them alobe, they deserve to live free & happy too. Super amazing movie that told a sad sad story.

The Orca, the animal that possesses all my heart and soul. I find myself re playing this music in my heart with tears in my eyes whenever I am on a boat. I simply have to hide when people are around. It's been nearly 30 years since I saw the movie and heard this song and I'll carry it to my death bed. It's edged in my soul
@arsenicCatnipNL2 . My little sister and I would watch this with our dad and she'd be balling(or maybe it was me). He'd wipe away her tears while she held on to him for comfort. We lost my father in '05 and my sister in '07 tragically and every time I listen to the track it brings me back to those childhood moments with them. I'm on the verge of tears each time I listen to it (and I'm a grown ass man!). But still a very emotional, triumphant and powerful song. 1 of my favorite classics!!
I saw orca killer whale when I was about ten.(19) years ago . I found it on a copppied VHS my dad recorded off the tv. Even to this day before I found it on you tube , I could remember so much about the film and the music. Even though part of you thinks the film is a crock of €$## there is something about it that grabs you and kinda haunts you forever !
I taught a third grader (Todd M, God bless him wherever he is) way back when who was profoundly moved by this film, drew pictures of the haunting scenes and urged me to watch it when it played. I did---and I loved, it too. Morricone's music always adds so much to a movie, and he hit it out of the park with this lovely melody. So sad......
I watched this movie more than 15 years ago when i was really young. It had such a deep impact at me. I watched it again few months ago, it is still epic. Scenes from this movie you'll never forget.
