This movie is truly a sad story, a tragedy. Seeing your mate get killed like that is horrifying. The male whale was very angry and motivated to get Nolan and his crew. Same with Nolan, he didn't want to catch a female nor did he want to kill a whale. He also got super angry after the whale kept killing his crew. Both have motivations.
One movie where you have more sympathy for the animal than the people involved. Nolan wasn't a bad evil person and he felt terrible afterwards for what happened which was accidental anyway.
I was in favor of the whale. In real life, orcas mate with different females, they are not monogamous ( one mate for life) but what this movie taught me is to respect nature.
An Ennio Morricone music soundtrack is reason enough to see a movie. I appreciate what the filmmakers with ORCA were trying to achieve, a JAWS inspired, emotional and sensitive film incorporating a poignant message concerning the preservation of ocean wildlife. I was just a child when this movie came out. Never heard of Ennio Morricone but this movie, which I considered to be a flop of a movie along with many others believing the same, has NEVER left my mind in 48 years because of this hauntingly beautiful master piece of a title score. To Me it has NO EQUAL. Even Titantic's "My Heart Will Go On" holds no candle to this theme in my mind. It did win best original score in 1977 and in Googling it, I see it has been named into the top 100 movie themes of all time by the American Film Institue. I've never had the heart to watch this movie more than twice because each time I get to the scene of the happy and soon to be destroyed Orca family swimming together, while this theme is playing, makes me sob like a baby. I won't do it to myself.
I can never get this song out of my mind. This is I think the truest most heartfelt and deepest love song to ever be heard with or without the lyrics. Too too powerful.

The picture in the beginning is of L98 "Luna". I want to cry every time I see him 💔
אחת הנעימות המוזיקליות היפות ששמעתי
This movie made me cry for the first time in my life lol And i mean crying of sadness, especially when i looked in the Orcas eyes. I remember i was only 7 years old and then that soundtrack love it !
I was 10... Beautiful music. I've never forgotten this movie
@@berto313 I was 12 lol
Ce film ma beaucoup marqué
Surtout la musique
EPIC, Morricone, Zimmer, Poledouris = Gods Hands of OST.
I can never get this song out of my mind. This is I think the truest most heartfelt and deepest love song to ever be heard with or without the lyrics. Too too powerful.
