This is the BEST video I have seen in ages. When I graduated Nursing School in 1990- they didn’t teach about this information... and a lot of your information is likely fairly new. I need to watch this again tomorrow (when I am not sleepy) THANK YOU
Thank you so much for this brief lovely introduction video. One more thing, may I've a references that you cite from including the link please. It's for educational purpose.
Nice video - I am really grateful for the nicely animated schematics and the smooth transitions. A mathematical question though: if one circle is taking around 90 minutes, 4 circles would add up to 360 minutes or 6 hours. In the video 7-8 hours were propagated as normal, so wouldn't 5 circles be the standard? Or is it because or REM-phases tend to get longer, while NREM-phases stay the same length?
Assalamualaikum dr, I'm Anas Rifqi Bin Mohd Azmi, in this video I have learned about the stages of sleep, I'm very interested about aspect of rem sleep which is new and very unic for me, I'm never know that our eyes was moving while we close it before, thank you for the explanation too, it contain good animation which help me more understanfing in image way than reading only ❤
I loved loved loved this video. I took nursing courses and worked in the health care field for years and learned more in this video than i did in my college and clinical courses. Great video that told me lots and i am really impressed with all of the information i learned.
I lost my natural ability to get stage 1 sleep because of shift work. Stage 1 sleep for me is ALWAYS disrupted by sleep starts including exploding head syndrome. That didn't happen before the Shift work I did. I no longer do shift work but still can't achieve Stage 1 sleep. Any San Francisco based doctors you can reccomend or sleep medicine I can talk to my Doctor about?
@@Limitlessluckyunique888 I'm sorry. I can actually sleep, but since my sleep deprivation from shift work, I always feel fatigued, similarly like I just ran a long distance. I felt this way before, but sleep use to fix the fatigue. Not anymore. I'm looking into posible stem cell therapy in Columbia because of the high cost. Here's an AI generated search on the subject. Cheers Mate. "stem cell therapy has shown promise in treating sleep disorders such as insomnia. By repairing and regenerating damaged brain cells, stem cells can help regulate the body's natural sleep-wake cycle, leading to improved sleep quality and duration."
Really interesting and easy to understand. Fantastic job. I have a question though. I read somewhere that there are 5 stages of sleep. 4 NREM stages and the rem stage. The source also stated that many people tend to group n3 and n4 into one - the slow-wave sleep (as you did here) What do you have to say about that?
Awesome video and explanation Zoey. I suffer from chronic insomnia, so its interesting to see what stages my body may pass unless I medicate with prescribed medication. Thanks again

WOW GREAT VIDEO ANIMATIONS
Thank you so much 😀
If you wake up during n2 and then go back to sleep does it start again from n1 or just go back into n2 ?
Can you also provide information about sleep paralysis
Hi. I do suffer from sleep paralysis. It is horrendous! Do you have information on this?
Mind blown! Had no idea that when you go to bed influences the type of sleep you get more of! This was awesome; thanks!!
It’s a great informative video but unfortunately the music is too loud
Gotta agree with the loud music. Very distracting and made it difficult to understand.
Simple and straight to the point, my best source for understanding sleep!

Thanks a ton 🤝

I don't get stage 4 sleep. I have fibromyalgia. I wake up feeling horrific and I haven't dreamt for years
Dream in which stage??

@Limitlessluckyunique888 Still can't get restorative sleep. Still searching for some kind of therapy or medication.
@radar0412 how long is your sleep everyday
@radar0412 me i cannot sleep

I believe the 4 stages in NREM is the old data, now scientists have updated the source. 3 stages of NREM and 1 stage of REM = 4 stages per cycle
Why do so many have such loud distracting crappy music during the actual speaking?
Fr
It adds nothing to the content of the video. Matter of fact, I’m outta here.
Take advantage of time

The background music in your video is incredibly annoying & makes it difficult to understand your conversation!
your music is louder than the voiceover thus struggled to listen few things you said
