    I like that they clarify he's a "ghost" clown as if being a vengeful psychopathic clown with mind control powers isn't scary enough. Some of these guys were straight up supervillains.

      Also the fact he hypnotized Scooby implies he can control animals.

      In a fight between Ghost Clown and Space Kook, whoever wins, we lose.
      Sure, that's from 'Alien vs. Predator' but I think it fits here as well.

      I implies he can control SENTIENT animals.
      So in the Scooby-Dooniverse that'd be Scooby, most of Scooby's family and Professor Pericles.
      I think Ghost Clown would meet his match with that evil owl, though.

      Yeah there’s no great answer to how it went down with the costume change. Tell her to change and leave the room? Still creepy. Likely plausibly watch it like a real creep would? Way worse. And because we don’t know how long in universe time the episode is there could be plenty of uncouth spare time

      I actually avoided watching Scooby Doo much as a kid, though I was familiar with the live action movies, the Wax Monster, the Witch and Zombie, the Witch’s Ghost, What’s New Scooby Doo, and Legend Of The Phantasour. Let’s just say it was too scary for my little child brain to handle. It took me years, especially during my freshman and sophomore years, to actually watch the franchise for real and then really appreciate it. Shaggy was my fictional character crush at a time in my life where I was experiencing high school for the first time, though disappointedly I never actually saw the hell experiences the movie always talk about..🫠

    You mentioned how would Velma know a fake bill from a real one. I think I can give an easy answer to that: I used to work as a cashier in a casino - and we were all shown what bad bills looked like and were always shown samples whenever they were available. Back when this cartoon was made, the bills would have been done on a printing press but the lower quality ink had sulfur in it and this would give a slight yellowing shade on the bill itself while also giving off a slight odor that legit bills at that time wouldn't have had. This is outdated now that counterfeiters use different methods in the trade but even a teen could have learned the difference if shown what to look for.
    It's also important to note that bad bills would get passed around all the time by otherwise legit businesses like banks! Yup! I had a friend who worked as a bank manager for BOFA. He used to tell me that whenever they came across them, they sent them right out again. Why? Because if they called the Secret Service and turned them in, they wouldn't get compensated for the amount of money they lost so they'd rather just forward it and make it someone else's problem.

    • @xaorancheshire7908
      @xaorancheshire7908 Год назад

      As much as I wanna say BOFA are sociopaths that is a logical response to not being compensated for the thought value. Gov should definitely pay the bank back for proactive

    About the 'What kind of dog owners are they?' thing, Scooby is technically a descendant of an ancient race of aliens called Annunaki, who, because of his ancient alien heritage, is slightly more biologically similar to humans, including aging at the same rate as humans, and his ability to eat things that would otherwise kill a dog.

      Ahh... BUT!
      That's only the 'Mystery Incorporated' iteration of Scooby.
      I'm a firm believer in the Scooby-Dooniverse, where every series and most films are a separate incarnation of the Gang and thus have different backstories.
      For example, the original Gang from 1969 would be in their late-60s and early-70s by now, and Scooby...

    • @dafilmqueen556
      @dafilmqueen556 2 месяца назад +2

      @@brix7816, one of MatPat’s theories establishes the idea that the Scooby Gang is essentially dimension hopping, or the timeline has changed since the Supernatural crossover, which explains why parts of the show have supernatural elements where the original series didn’t. I originally was going to say that pietro could have allowed his case to fall out in an effort to have some person stumble upon it and spend it, that way it goes into circulation. That way it wont directly be tied to him using it first. It worked on Shaggy after all who was more than willing to use it, but he was sloppy and did try to get it back so maybe not...

    • @JoeGoesOver
      @JoeGoesOver  Год назад +10

      That's not a bad theory; however, it'd probably be safer for Pietro to have dropped a few wads of cash here and there instead of a violin case full of the fake currency all at once.
      Finding a large amount of money like that might increase the odds of someone being too afraid to spend it and more likely to drop it off at a police station as a good Samaritan.
      Most of us have found a $20 bill in the street and just pocketed it, knowing the odds of reuniting it with the original owner were so high as to be pointless to try.
      If we found several thousand dollars in the street, on the other hand...

Then again, considering how incompetent their parents seem to be at doing their jobs properly, and with one notable occasion where Fred’s adoptive ’father’ was a kidnapper who used him his entire life, it would appear that they’re incapable of functioning well as human beings. Which makes sense, they’re teenagers after all. Obviously there’s an unspoken sense of neglect there and they have only each other to rely on. Maybe that’s why Shaggy and Scooby are so insistent on sticking with the gang despite how often they endure gaslighting and abuse via reckless endangerment..

      Son of a...! You're right!
      Uncle Stuart doesn't wear a blue suit at any point in the episode! It was brown in all his appearances (apart from when he's revealed at the end under the Kingston makeup).
      Mr. Wetherby DOES wear a blue suit throughout, so it makes me wonder if either the colorists were given the wrong notes and Stuart was supposed to be blue and Wetherby was to wear brown/red, or if perhaps an earlier draft of the script meant for Wetherby to be kidnapped and "turned into a skeleton" instead of Stuart.
      Either way, good catch!

      Oh man, I didn't even think you'd see my comment; thanks for responding! My Grandma and I watched that episode last night. In between watching wrestling, we watch old cartoons. Anyway, we both thought it was weird his suit wasn't blue, and she actually thought the skeleton had on just a red shirt in that shot, sans the suit jacket, but of course that still wouldn't be right. So what I was thinking was since the chair and floor and all that stuff looked blue as well, maybe that's why they didn't make his suit blue in that scene for fear of him being lost in the scene and then it's just a random skeleton floating in the chair? Of course that's just my speculation. Your theory does sound more accurate though!
      Thanks for responding! I can't wait to watch the rest of this series! Definitely gonna like and ask if you work at a deli place, cause I'm gonna give you a sub!
      P.S., when I was a kid, it was the Black Knight that scared the hell out of me. The blinking yellow eyes and the whole under the moonlight thing is what messed me up. Actually Mr Wetherby did call the sheriff as soon as he found Uncle Stuart as an old man. It’s just that as implied, the sheriff is probably so far away that he failed to come in time to ‘save’ Uncle Stuart from his own scheme. Good thing that Elias Kingston wasn’t a real ghost, or the sheriff would probably be kicking himself for not coming in time as he ends up with a bunch of skeletons instead..

    Don’t forget that Pietro was also chased by Scooby. Remember, Scooby Doo is one of fiction’s most easily frightened characters; hell, he was scared earlier before by Pietro along with the gang. And yet, as soon as Fred realizes the Viking and pirate were puppets and that a puppet master must be present, Scooby noticed the guy and actually took initiative to chase the puppet master. Think about it, not only was Scooby not scared the second time around after he realized there was a puppet master, but he wasn’t forced to chase after him. He wasn’t bribed, he wasn’t pressured, nobody asked him to. He saw a criminal running the stage, running away, and actually chased after him like the good boy we know he is. It’s moments like this where I can say for certain that Scooby Doo is stronger than he thinks he is and just doesn’t know it..

    As I kid, I asumed that there was a switch inside the sarcophagus in Franken Castle which closed the lid and made the bottom turn into a slide somehow. Also, I've always loved the background art of that episode (well, of all the episodes in this series really). Oakley's disguises may have been unoriginal, however, the place had quite an eerie atmosphere. Btw, that weird woo-oo-oo at 21:00 was so overused in season 1. I was scared of the Ghost Clown which is why the voice actors deserve more credit because their voices are very terrifying and effective, I was confused too on Big Bob on how was able to change his clothes so fast and we do get another werewolf episode where it is green for some reason.

      Clowns likely just appealed to Gacy because of the concept that kids like clowns and that would allow him to get closer to his victims.

      In Stuart's case, I carefully listened to all the dialogue and there was nothing that definitely established what his last name was. And even that could be tricky because occasionally a Scooby episode will be released with additional or deleted scenes and my version may not have been the definitive one!

    I think the Charlie robot was designed after zuck cause honestly if you asked an ai to make a robot of zuck with limited parameters this is what you’d get. Definitely get the impression you’re not pro musk though that is fairly easy cause he’s so arrogant. Good point on how likely gassy the gluttons of the group probably are especially with hippie vegan kombucha and pot smoke. The costume change definitely opens up a lose lose door since even if he didn’t peek or do anything sick it’s still plausible-possible he did. BBO I would say gets at least a 2.5-3 because his search was actually possible to have existed where we never see Vasquez’s loot to know if it was a box or not. 4 separate characters including different voices for gypsy and Dracula and different gaits for Frankenstein and wolfman(stiff vs very fluid) is 5/5 for me.

    Don’t forget Uncle Stuart had a trained bulldog that chased the gang because it was ordered to. We never see that critter again. I must ask, what happened to the bulldog? There’s no indication that it belongs to anyone. All we’re told is that it’s a guard dog, yet it’s never mentioned again. We know that Uncle Stuart must’ve trained it because all Stuart had to do was point a finger at Scooby and it already knew to chase after him. Was the bulldog a stray dog Uncle Stuart trained for this one scheme? If so, big mistake. Who’s gonna feed that lonely creature now that it’s master has gone to prison?

Apparently it’s hereditary on her family’s side, so she is constantly wearing specialized stockings that help with her bad legs. She even tells me that my father’s genes are the reason I have very good legs, so my legs are very strong and healthy. Really, why didn't Mr. Jenkins just tell the gang what was going on when they came to tell him and Sarah about what they saw? If he had come clean about how he was performing tests on a robot he built to run the whole park and asked them to leave so he could continue the tests, the gang probably would've obliged because at that point the mystery would be solved. Instead he pretends not to know what they're talking about and thus the situation gets more dangerous than it needs to be.
    Though TBH, I personally would've treated Sarah as the culprit for that section instead of Mr. Jenkins, she was the one who was more directly responsible for the problems that arose throughout the episode because she sabotaged Charlie.

    I keep watching these videos because I love the original Scooby Doo series. With Carl the Stuntman, I do believe he's the dumbest Scooby Villain, but I have to ask. How would the gang know the hamburger on the floor wasn't from Carl before he faked his kidnapping? I'm open to being wrong, but I think the gang might have come to the wrong conclusion there by that clue.

My family has a thing of valuing food so much that even if someone doesn’t finish eating it, we either put it away as leftovers to eat later or we throw it away with heavy hearts if it’s too damaged for safe consumption. I may be like Shaggy and Scooby, but my excuse is how my mother raised me to not waste food, so if I’m not hungry or just don’t like the food, I just give it away to anyone who wants it. 33:54-33:59 speaking of perpetuating cultural stereotypes, did you know that a lot of the Dracula and Nosferatu mythos seem to have a lot of similarities with anti-Semantic stereotypes? Hell, there’s even that with some of our favorite Disney villains like Captain Hook and Mother Gothel respectively, except Gothel was accused of anti-Semitic inspiration when her actual inspiration was Cher herself. It’s such a shame really, cause one of my favorite shows is The Nanny, and while I’m not Jewish myself, the amount of Jewish representation in The Nanny especially since Fran Drescher herself is Jewish apparently really helps to increase my IQ on cultural representation. If only there was more Romani/Roma representation aside from our boy Nightwing and Esmeralda..

    You forgot to mention that Carl The Stuntman got his own butt kicked by Scooby. Scooby is established as the cowardly dog, as he runs away from every monster he encounters. The only monsters he never ran away from as far as I know are Carl, the Puppet-master, and that time in the Batman crossover episode when Joker and Penguin disguised themselves as skeletons only to be chased away by Scooby himself because “delicious looking bones”. It’s not like Scooby doesn’t know how to be brave. We see with the Puppetmaster and our aforementioned Joker/Penguin duo that he is able to take initiative to chase after the monster without prompting, but here’s the thing. The Joker and Penguin duo made the mistake of dressing up in a lame costume that for some reason was appealing enough to Scooby to want to eat despite Scooby Doo having been scared by similar types of monsters (I’d point out that Joker and Penguin are worse than the monsters Mystery Inc have faced before in general knowing their horrific reputation, but that’s not relevant to the time period the Scooby/Batman crossover came out in, so not gonna comment on it). And with the Puppetmaster, the dude was running away, so Scooby had the excuse of trying to detain a criminal, like the good dog he is. Carl is like Joker and Penguin, stupid enough to get bamboozled, but at least the latter two had the excuse of not considering that Scooby would instead find their costumes appetizing (ignore the innuendo behind that joke, modern times are not a place for judgement of old times). Carl has no such excuse for how pathetically easy he was to beat, especially by a dog who’s known for his cowardice..

    In the apeman you didn't mention anything about the stars name. Candy Mint, she must have been in adult movies before Scooby because that is a porno name if I ever heard one. Charlie the robot predated pizza restaurants like Chuck-E-Cheese and now I'm kind of envisioning Charlie in the movie five nights at Freddy's. Charlie wouldn't have had enough internal memory back then. Also we never really know what Charlie's intentions were because he never actually caught any of the gang so we don't know what he would have done had he caught one. Was Charlie going to be a security robot is that why the sister has so much of an issue... Backstage rage was probably the one that scared me the most basically about that tunnel because I knew if he caught them he would definitely have been up to no good he has that look that Donald Trump mugshot look , as far as Pietro getting out of the tunnel before the kids he knew that theater inside out that may have been inside door that the kids would have missed or a ladder that they may have missed since it was totally dark Pietro would have known where it was Ghost clown😂episode I can actually remember.on Saturday afternoon talkin about the episode with my friends I must have been in the 3rd grade. we agreed that shaggy Scooby and Daphne we're only hypnotized because they have the weakest mental capabilities of the group.
