Another hit for you Joe! I also watched this movie with my mom, About 40 something years ago. 😅 Loved it then and still love it today. I think it is pretty inoffensive because it is anything but mean-spirited. My favorite line from the film: Uh, we could go shopping together." 😂

For me the hot dog water death scene was the most impactful 😢. Even tho it was reset, she was a kid unlike edd machine and Cassidy, and we knew how she was shoot to death. I always hated when the scene was on screen😢 Is soo brutal

On this rewatch I realized this is the second time they trapped a bad guy with an antique airplane and both times it happened in a museum. They didn't even have Black Knight armor for protection

I think you reviewing the “red shirt” movies is wonderful. However, I should warn you, in case you don’t already know, SD Meets the Boo Brothers is the only one with a mystery and a villain who dresses up. The other two movies involve real monsters.

This show inspires me to make my own dark Scooby Doo series with its own explanation of how Scooby can talk, plus it's gonna tie in to my own DC Universe. I already have an idea of who to make the perfect main antagonist of the show: Black Mask a.k.a. Roman Sionis (because of his obsession with wearing masks and his False Face Society).

As someone who saw the 2007 horror movie Rogue as a kid once and still remembers the ending when the main character not only kills the alligator/crocodile but also manages to save the only surviving female character while she’s in critical condition, I can attest to alligators/crocodiles being terrifying and eating everything in their way. Then again, considering at least two characters survived, with one by sheer ferocity and the other by pure luck aka plot armor in that same film, Simone and Lina should have expected to be defeated by plot armor at some point. Plot armor, a hero’s greatest strength and a villain’s greatest weakness 😂

24:21-24:30 good question, but personally for me, despite my fear of the dark, I am adept at being careful not to trip over anything while in the dark. Trust me, you have no idea how many times I’ve almost fallen to the floor and my ability to balance myself was good enough that it prevented me from doing so every single time. If I was one of the safe robbery victims, Sparks and Rivvits wouldn’t even be able to catch me cause I would never use a safe that complicated, or even own one; not to mention, even if I did, my trained adaptability to the dark would ensure nobody would be able to see me or my combinations cause they would have to be my family to even get it. I’m that paranoid, but not Batman-level paranoid..

Just ask my mother, she works night shifts at a gas station, and as her oldest child being 22 years old at the time I’m writing this, me and my college aged younger brother are old enough to be left at home with our little siblings, plus my aunt, my ex-stepfather’s niece raised as a sister who is also my little siblings’ cousin, takes care of us during the day to allow my mother the sleep she needs; not that she ever manages to sleep well since my littlest brother is such a menace that he won’t let her sleep due to how loud and hyperactive he can be. She’s a single mom raising four children, with her oldest and youngest children being autistic, and her third child being an anorexic teenage girl who’s so skinny you can see her freaking skeleton yet still healthy enough to be a functional human being despite heart problems, all while dealing with a divorce from a walking toxic red flag. Between this, plus the theory that the Scooby Doo universe is going through an economic recession, it’s likely that nobody can sleep at night and thus have to make up for it by sleeping in the day like vampires. I can kinda see why Shaggy is so scared of monsters if he’s so bad at sleeping at night..

Even as a kid, it bothered me that they said the Creeper could walk through walls but at no point tried to show him doing that. It would've been very easy for Carswell to pull out a Scooby-universe film projector if he wanted to achieve that effect and make his story about the Creeper more convincing.

I have never found Steve Martin even mildly amusing, let alone actually funny. The only thing that "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" had going for it was the novelty of all the excerpts from classic movies edited in with Martin's footage, but that novelty soon wore very thin. DMDWP is a masterpiece of waste.

This was my least favourite of the four Mook films, but I applaud them for embracing technology and trying to remain relevant in a new era. They were great palate cleansers amid the older episodes. I’m conflicted as to whether I would love to see you continue this iteration of the Scooby gang when they head to Mexico and Australia or if it would be great to pivot to the red shirt Shaggy and maintain a supernatural element. Seems like you have a multitude of choices 😀. I look forward to seeing more videos and how you manage to write yourself out of that corner…lol

So ends the mini series of films that revived the franchise. If you need some new materials for your opening gag, maybe try Movies that are some what similar to one of the two episodes plots. Since the first two episodes that featured the annoying nephew involved a Comic book hero and a London Ghoul, maybe one of the many movies involving something similar like the Blue Beetle movie or the Werewolf in London or Homes' films.

Watched Cyberchase only a few weeks ago, great film but defiantly one of the more out there ideas Scooby has had in terms of realism with that laser, sure is interesting when you think of all those complications of something like that existing 😅It would be interesting to see the rankings for the Scooby movies going forward, sure is alot of them 😅

My overall favorite villain design still has to be Old Iron Face for this series, i just love the look of it and it's an imposing figure

How much of a palate cleanser they are will likely come down to personal preference, but I think the two theatrical live-action movies (Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed) could work in a similar way that the Renaissance movies have. While the first of the Red-Shirt Shaggy movies (Boo Brothers) didn't come out until 1987, they feel close enough in years, characters, and tone that they can feel like they are essentially still part of the same era as Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo, so covering one of those movies wouldn't really feel like a break from those shows after each season. And while the What's New Scooby-Doo era did give us many movies, plenty of which are good or at least passible, they don't really stand out in the history of the franchise the same way that the Renaissance movies do. The two live action movies from 2002 and 2004 I think could work as good between-season palate cleansers, as there's a decent bit of distance between them and the Scrappy era and, love 'em or hate 'em, they do stand out as a very notable part of Scooby-Doo history. Not to mention that the villains give a bit extra that could be fun to talk about, as one is Scrappy himself and the other is a completely altered version of a villain from The Scooby-Doo show. And unlike the Red-shirt Shaggy movies, where the villains were outright real monsters and there wasn't really any kind of mystery, the main villains of the two live action movies do use disguises that can be judged in a ranking and have hidden schemes that they're trying to pull off. Plus, hey, what came right in-between Cyber Chase and Legend of the Vampire? The first live-action movie. Those are my thoughts anyway. Whatever you decide to go with in the end I'm sure I'll enjoy regardless, since it is still Scooby-Doo.

If Joe does get fired because of the Scooby gang, maybe he should consider making a youtube series where he studies their cases and ranks the bad guys they go up against by the quality of their plans. That way he can let out some steam against the gang.

If Scooby eating a haunted bone is what gets you, I can only imagine what it would look like if Shaggy were to go full on meme mode and just be dancing to the Reese’s Puff commercial song. I never had any Reese’s Puff cereal myself, but I saw that commercial song many times as a kid that I’m familiar with it, and it’s just one of those 2000s bangers you just hear and you immediately know what it is. I also got into discovering the recent meme of Misery x CPR x Reese’s Puff, of which Misery happens to be one of my favorite songs by Maroon 5. I can totally see Fred singing Misery because of his childhood as seen in Mystery Incorporated, Daphne I can imagine singing CPR because of how much she simps for Fred (because CPR is apparently the type of song your horny friend would sing while your depressed buddy would sing Misery), and of course, who better to sing about Reese’s Puff cereal than our two favorite gluttons Shaggy snd Scooby? I can only imagine how insane it would look..

I’m not even gonna question Shaggy and Fred lifting it up because as we see with Velma and how casual they are about carrying gold, the gang is the the strongest team in the history of mystery solving fiction..

I always thought that the phantom virus resembled the ice demon from A Pup Named Scooby Doo. I wouldn't be surprised if they just went "base the design off the ice demon but alter it a little bit.

my guess for why beating the game might've defeated the virus was that the game despawned the monsters upon beating the level since enemies sometimes disappear or are frozen upon you entering the "stage complete" screen. Though I guess the game didn't see a problem with there being 2 sets of player characters (the real and cyber gangs).

I have a theory This movie uses synthetic magic to use the special characteristic crystal to make a laser from the reflective glass, this crystal is in the machine, the laser through the crystal of the machine mixed with the mathematical formula to virtualize the organic matter into computer data is my theory for this movie

I think her voice is what is outlasting in memory rather than the made up story for pr reasons. Therss something to study or be very aware of what was ok to do or even preferred at the time

I love watching these videos! I've recently started re-watching all of the red shirt shaggy movies and I think that would be amazing to analyze. It is definitely different since most of the gang isn't included but I'd love to hear your take on the quality and design of the movies. Keep up the great work!
