i'M FINALLY USING MY LS-1 I;m no longer scared HAHAHHA. I purchased the heavy duty wheel and this sucker flies. I'm starting with a very small simple project to get used to the basic uses and I'M IN LOOOOOOOVE. Now I want the storage table. YAAAAY ME. I'm sewing
Just got one! We have small embroidery business and needed a powerful machine to sew Velcro on the backs of patches, I have some sewing experience and have sewn on commercial machines before, this machine skis amazing. Great investment and it does everything we need it to do and more.
Excellent demo! I particularly like all of the descriptive engineering lingo 🤓 With over almost 20 years of sewing experience and having become familiar with more than a dozen different industrial sewing machines. I will say that without a doubt the LSZ-1 Sailrite machine is AWESOME and worth every shiny penny. I will sew on this when on business trips #gamechanger
I make jean quilts for my nephews as well as other heavy quilts. I think this is the machine for me but I would like to test this before I commit to purchase. Where can I go to find a showroom?
Im in love. 💘. 1.) Ultrafeed - *walking foot 2.) Portable - and cabinet opt. 3.) Machanical - manual if needed. 4.) Basic - perfect Wish s. machine cord plug, would have outlet/lead for Light. Maybe one only has one wall outlet, and its being utilized/full. Im saving my pennies. 09-07-19 1:07 pm pdt
Well, actually we have recently developed a special plug for the light. The LED light will eventually plug in right behind the motor with a special metal bracket that holds both the foot pedal plug and the light plug. It is in the finial production stage and should be included on all Ultrafeed sewing machines around Christmas 2019. It will also be sold separately for current owner of Ultrafeed sewing machines who want to upgrade to it.
I found this video very helpful. I was able to thread, sew and make a few adjustments on my new LSZ-1. I'd like to see a video on adjusting tension, wounding the bobbin, and troubleshooting. So far I'm happy with my new purchase; however, there a few minor exceptions that would have made the assembly and installation process of the desk and machine easier.
Always Always Always Always Always turn the hand wheel toward you Never Never Never turn the hand away from you or you have a birds nest and the fun beings
would you say as a beginner project the outboard motor cover project....I have numerous projects for this amazing tool and you seem to have a video for all of them lol
You show the EZ Set Stitch Length Plate adjustments. Does it allow you to set the forward length to 6mm and the reverse to 2 mm? Would there be any use for this?
I was paying attention ALLLL the way up until your Rolex Hulk came in to view, then I couldn’t pay attention to anything else...like a dog seeing a squirrel!
I still don't understand the "stitch length" . How do you know what is 2mm, 4mm etc? When making bags I usually use a 2.5 mm for joining, and 4mm for topstitching w/ vinyl.
Can the Sailrite (blue one) do quilting? Would a quarter inch quilting attachment be available to use with the machine? I would love to do a review of the Sailrite versus my Husqvarna 980Q. The Sailrite would be ideal for home sewing projects. This year I bought a secondhand backpack with the intention of using it to store all my vacuum parts, but, it’s not likely that the 980Q will be able to use to sew on the material that the backpack is made of. However, after watching several RUclips videos on the Sailrite, I’m sold on the abilities of the Sailrite to handle heavy materials. Do you have a website on which a Sailrite can be purchased? It’s on my Wishlist! Thx!
Hi Verita, Quilting, well I don't know enough about that type of sewing to answer that question, sorry. You can buy a machine online at this link: www.sailrite.com/Sewing-Machines/Portable-Heavy-Duty-Sewing-Machines
Oh goodness ...my dream machine for sure !!! I think it would be perfect for my bag making. Can only dream :( Most likely no where close to affordable :(
The ability to control the machine at slow speeds is a learned ability that does take some time. One thing that will help is be sure the pedal is on a firm surface (if you have thick carpeting put it on a board) also getting used to the pedal and its control can be a bit easier if you do some practicing with the control in your hand rather than under foot. A monster balance wheel adds weight and inertia to the rotating assembly. It won’t make the machine capable of moving more slowly, and will not make the machine start more slowly, but rather will help keep the machine churning along at a slower pace. It will also facilitate sewing without power as it has an included handle. If just sewing one or two stitches, maybe to get around a corner, or another tight detail, one does not have to have the monster balance wheel or hand crank as you are able to grasp and rotate the balance wheel. I personally do a lot of sewing in which I will manually rotate the machine (grab the balance wheel) both at the end of a seam to properly position the needle as well as any time I need to sew just one or two stitches and want more control. If portability of the machine is not required we do offer an industrial table/stand with a servo motor. The Servo being a much larger electronically controlled motor is capable of full power at any speed, so it’s low speed control is unparalleled.
IS there a way to control the speed? We do not seem to have the control that you do at the slow speeds. Our machine "buzzes" when we slightly push the pedal....then begins to sew at a higher speed than we were wanting.
You need to buy from Sailrite the Monster II Balance Wheel and remove the fly wheel machine came with. The weight of this Monster II Balance Wheel slows the machine at the beginning when you press the pedal. You can still sew very fast once you are going on the straight.
I would purchase this machine in a heartbeat if it had the larger M bobbin the small bobbin it has runs out in just a minute such a shame they did not put larger bobbins in these 2 machines!!!
We do have a machine that takes an M style bobbin. You can find it here: www.sailrite.com/Sailrite-Fabricator-Sewing-Machine-in-Power-Stand-with-Workhorse-Servo-Motor-Kit
Thanks! Yes, the Ultrafeed will also sew lighter home sewing jobs like pants and shirts. Here is a video showing that: ruclips.net/video/I8K-XBMWDlw/видео.html
The threading directions in the manual do not show the same threading on the 3 holes. I was sewing and the thread kept breaking. Hopefully that was the issue.
I do not think that will resolve the issue your having with the thread breaking. If the issue is not resolved please email us for more help at: support@sailrite.com
This happened to me as well, but I soon learned that I kept threading the needle, right to left, when it's actually left to right. This may not be the case for you, but I saw this and wanted to chime in, just in case.
Got my Sailrite delivered yesterday spent the last four hours trying to get the bobbin thread to be picked up by the upper thread. Looks like it’s out of timing…. brand new machine can’t use it. To make matters worse Sailrite’s forum, in which I may be able to find the answer, is outdated and my browsers won’t allow me onto it because it has outdated security.
Sorry to hear about this issue. Please email us at support@sailrite.com for quick help from our sewing machine technician. In the meantime, I would place some scrap fabric under the presser foot, lower the presser foot and try sewing. I bet that the bobbin thread catches and it sews fine. Again, please email right-away for help from Sailrite.
@@SailriteDIY just an update for everybody: I sent pictures and videos to Sailrite and they quickly sent a link to a video to adjust the driver rotation. It took a little time maybe like an hour and a half but it wasn’t that bad. When it was adjusted correctly I managed to sew through this cloth covered board (a cocoon strap pack organizer) that was a stiff as say a sunvisor in a car. I must say watching the Sailrite breeze through that heavy board and cloth like it was a hot knife through butter made me feel better about my purchase. I look forward to use the machine more and I appreciate the customer service.
You can see the price and order it at this link: www.sailrite.com/Sewing-Machines/Portable-Heavy-Duty-Sewing-Machines These are heavy duty sewing machines that do better with medium to heavy applications, but can do some home sewing. The sewing needle isnt catching the bobbin thread out of the box. Is that normal? The new machine came with samples presumably sewn from my machine to show it's working properly. Can someone assist?
This is by far the best video to introduction to sewing. I have never understood a sewing machine like this before.

Watching the videos before getting the machine helps so much for decreasing the intimidation factor.

This is my first machine. Q: What's the best general advice for sewing and tailoring?
- Got to have one!
I wish Sailrite would put a quality light in their machines. They are such high quality to have a cheap light.
What don't you like about the current light?
I make jean quilts for my nephews as well as other heavy quilts. I think this is the machine for me but I would like to test this before I commit to purchase. Where can I go to find a showroom?

You won’t be sorry this thing is a work horse if your looking for something that will sew through damn near anything.
Could a Servo Motor be added to this LS-1 in order to slow the machine for use on thick leather?
This motor package is even better for the Ultrafeed: www.sailrite.com/Sailrite-WorkerB-Power-Pack-Motor-System-110V Watch the videos for it.

You ever plan to sell those machines in Mexico?

actually pretty affordable, i went to the site and it was $795 before taxes
Make your bags and sell them; will help pay for the machine. You won't regret it.

Is there a way to slow down the electronic foot control on my LS1 Ultrafed?

This may not be the case for you, but I saw this and wanted to chime in, just in case.
This could also be caused by cheap thread. You might want to get Maxi lock thread, or nylon thread, depending on what you're sewing.
