Tsx needs an intake.. wrong setup can cost you 10-20 HP.. battery relocation, and a 4” pipe would help him. Nice intake manifold and header, but it can’t breathe with the restrictive oem tube
Definitely! I’m getting restricted with the temp janky intake setup atm, was waiting on getting my custom 3.5” CAI done and slap my j37 on with it

Bro I’ve owned both and let me tell you.. TSX people need to stop thinking it’s quicker than a Si. Especially an 8th Si lmao 300lbs + LSD transmission makes a big difference
The TSX would do better on a circuit track tho apparently but even then I wouldn’t think so lol

Awesome video dude. I’m 25. Never been interested in cars until about 3 months 6 months ago. Definitely never would’ve thought I’d be interested in Hondas. Im obsessed. Just something about them has me locked. Bought a 2012 2.4L tsx about 2 years ago and didn’t know how sought after the engines are. So glad I have one. Never gonna get rid of it.

Expected this outcome the tsx is too heavy me currently owning a 2011 si I came from a 06 tsx and the civic si definitely feels quicker I have way more confidence now then I did with the tsx don’t get me wrong the tsx is a very nice car especially the Looks and features but the si is just more raw

The Tsx is a heavy sedan. Great engine but he would have to rid it of some weight and do a head swap. But good race between both cars.
It’s got a pretty good flowing A2 head being 04-08. Gearing vs the SI might be the deal breaker

Definitely could benefit from stage 2 NA cams, even stage 1. Probably would get you up to 245 whp or more with the right tune. With an intake manifold and tb if you did that all at the same time with a dyno tune right after you could probably push 255whp man, awesome car. I’ve got a k20a3 EP3 Si bone stock bought at 100k miles last month, just ordered a dc sports cai and gonna be gettin yonaka exhaust and headers soon +hondata remap then save for an A2 Type-S swap once my A3 croaks

Now I don't feel so bad having close runs with my friends fbo tsx. He has more mods, a better intake, 50 degree vtc static speed tuned light rpf1s, pretty sure his tsx is faster than that one. He pulls my 8th gen like half a car on 40s but i have a k20z3 with stock header test pipe, stock airbox that's been modified, tsx tb, tb spacer, light crank pulley 3 in exhaust on e85 self tuned. I thought my car was just slow but i see your k24 was struggling a little to beat thr heavier tsx. Those tsx with the right mods are fast

I have a 2013 TSX. I’ll admit,it’s the weakest/worst manual I’ve ever had.
I have a 2012 tsx manual yeah its nothing special. Slow as balls. Hey is it just me or is the clutch medal positioned like too far to the right? I always have to get perfectly in the seat and still keep my knees close together when pressing the clutch. Everything about the pedal and shifter placement just feels off. Ive also had like 3 clutch master and slave cylinders fail in like 1 year. Everyone says the tsx is one of thr best driving manual cars honda has. Do they mean the first gen or second gen?
@@chinchy111. Definitely not our gen!! I have a 2017 Civic Type R,& I had a 2002 S2000. Those are/were the best manuals Honda ever made!!

No where near fast in the real world compared to the newer turbo cars, etc. But there is something about a 220hp honda that will always put a smile on my face.

I'm running a k24a rsx z1 head at full 50vtc. Stock z1 cams. Non-issue for me

Don't need to rev out past 8k on full K24. Their powerband is all midrange with stock cams
@@yosh_tuned that's because of the cylinder head. The rsx and civic heads flower more up high. My frank makes power to 8450 with my rsx head.
@@lindaover9764 it's literally a few cfm differences lol. Won't make much of a difference with stock cams. The exhaust system/proper VTC will play more of role
