Of all my years in the PSX Bussines, I´ve never heard about Gamera 2000. The Ps1 never cease to amaze me.
Got it on rom iso !! U ll love Vanark to
I'm sad to learn that it never released outside of Japan
@@orinanime most of the games mentioned are Japanese only titles,.. cheap way to make a hidden gem list lol.
Hey, I got a ps1 2 years ago, and I got 50 games for it, and I love it! I like my playstation way better than N64.
I found it 2 years ago, looking for panzer dragoon look a likes
Sled Storm is criminally underrated. And you forgot to mention its top notch soundtrack
Good shout! The soundtrack is really good!
I agree sled storm was bad ass! I just played a demo back in the day but I remember that it was bad ass!!!
Yes, Sled Storm deserves more recognition.
I was late to the party and finally bought a PS1 in 2000. I got sled storm. Played the shit out of it. great graphics, gameplay, soundtrack. I remember trying to find a secret area but never managed to get up there. I ended up believing it wasn't achievable.
YESSSSS!
One of the family games for me. That game rocked!
It was so rewarding to play. Rough, but rewarding.
The soundtrack is both for everyone, and not for everyone.
"DragulaaaAAA!"
Anyone remember Future Cop LAPD? Me and my friend would play that for hours on end split screen.
Gear Fighter Dendoh, Panzer Bandit, Ghost in the Shell & Rising Zan the Samurai Gunman ✨👌
Commenting for reference.
Gungage and Blaster Master Blasting Again are also good games.
Rising Zan!! Weird game but I love it.
Fear Effect and Galerians could use some more appreciation too.
Silent Bomber is fun, shame it's so expensive now. It's apparently available digital on PSN Japan for PS3.
Oooo Galerians! I covered that in a previous episode. Such a good game!
@That Video Games Show, Maybe check out TRAG for the PS1 too. Interesting mix of cyberpunk, Die Hard, and Resident Evil.
Thanks Genome I’ll give it a look 🙂
Been wanting to finish Silent Bomber since I played it back when I was around 14 yrs old. I'm 35 now and just finished it on my emulator using my phone like 5 minutes ago.
Damn that game is hard. It's so hard so I used cheat. Man I can't imagine that game without invincibility. The barrage of enemies makes it impossible.
Good gameplay, too hard, story sucked.
You’ve been ON FIRE lately my friend. These are some amazing games, some I didn’t even know about!!
Thanks Reagan! Glad you found something new mate 🙂
I agree! i knew nothing about a lot of these games, I think a video of gameplay also helps. the ps1 and 2 were beasts!
Sentient is a game I never see anyone talk about. It's a mystery adventure game that takes place in real time on a free-roaming space station with in-depth conversation options. It was leagues ahead of its era.
Tomba! was a really good platformer. Starts up kind of easy but you get sucked into it pretty quick. Wonderful soundtrack, and some Metroidvania style elements.
This list is fresh as hell! Never saw these games mentioned in other videos before
Glad you found some new games!
PS1 has a lot of hidden gems waiting to be played !
Loved your show for a long time now. First time commenting. Your picks are always unique and interesting. A lot of these are pricey but I picked up Silent Bomber as it looks really fun!
Heard of 2 of these games, wicked video amigo, diggin the vibes, kingontoast
Thats some amazing work you're putting in your videos, i found new games to try i didnt even know existed before, thanks man and keep up the good work, you got a new subscriber
Thanks Laplace! Glad you found something new 🙂
Wow, thanks to the RUclips recommendations I found my hidden gem! Great videos, man!
Hey, bro
Just wanted to give you a huge thank you for introducing me to hogs of war. I love worms 3d and was sad that i couldnt find anything like it on psx. Ive been playing all afternoon and LOVE it!
Any chance we can get the soundtrack list used in yout videos? some of them are pretty cool! And you have a new subscriber. Keep the awesome work you are doing!
AMAZING VID, DIDNT KNOW MOST OF THESE GAMES THANK YOU
Thanks for including Hogs of War. A true British Classic
Are we not going to talk about the fact Tiny Tank is wearing a cowboy hat?
It's a power-up obtained when defeat a certain boss.
There's some absolutely awesome lighting in some of these games!!
Your gameplay videos are always so colorful, do you use and upscaler or something?
been so long since the last time playing on PS1 and there is one game that I always play back in the days and I wanted to play again now but I forgot what the title is. And then I search videos on youtube, after many time spent watching those videos I found it on your video, and yes it's the last one and the title is Silent Bomber. Thankyou very much, I finally can revisit it now.
I was definitely not expecting to see Asuka 120%. I thought I was like the only person who knows about it
great list as always
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
7:57 "There are so many tricks to be..."
meanwhile I've seen only *TWO* tricks drive over and over again LOL
very very strong list thank you!
Another great vid. Appreciate it👍
Thanks Des!
Great video as usual.
I suggest you to check "Chase The Express" it's an interesting game, mix of survival horror and stealth action game.
Another game that I really think it's underrated is "Road Rash Jailbreak". Yeah it's a bit clunky but it's fun as hell.
"C-12" it's another game that nobody remembers but it has a lot of quality. It's an action adventure game with a sci-fi plot.
Great vid, thanks.
One of the best lists I have ever see, thanks for sharing!
Thanks Hafid!
Great video! Hopefully I can play some of these on my Vita!
Brigandine and Clock Tower are my favorite hidden gems on PS1.
"Its not the size of your howitzer its what you do with it" i remember that tiny tank commercial still
Just found this channel, the content is really good
Those backrounds in Raycrisis, wow!
Great selection!
Did you record the footage on an emulator, to get this framerate?
Awesome videos as ussual mate good job!
Thanks Stelios!
Excellent work bro
Thanks Matt I appreciate that 🙂
Thousand Arms is my favorite underratted gem from the PS1 era.
This channel has the best hidden gems list for video games i’ve ever seen
Awesome list for sure.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Silent Bomber was the "bomb", as it is for sure an hidden gem, and one of my favorites on any system.
Discovered Silent Bomber last year. Liked it so much that I played through in like 2 sittings, even though the game is kinda short, I rarely do this.
Glad to finally see someone giving some love to Rhapsody! One of my favorite games ever.
A few of my favorite hidden gems on PS1 are Devil Dice, Future Cop: LAPD, Omega Boost, Apocalypse, Monkey Hero, and Pitfall 3D.
Except none of those qualify as “hidden”
What about Mr Dominio?
@@jamesyu5212 I would consider them to be hidden. There are definitely different degrees of hidden.
@@chesspunk489
Devil dice was a well reviewed puzzle game. Future cop LAPD was made by Colony Wars guys, and was prominently advertised. Omega Boost was a Polyphony game. Apocalypse- Bruce Willis? Monkey Hero, advertised as a Zelda-like. Pitfall- need I say more? It's pitfall.
Again, none are hidden.
all of these were fairly promoted and sold when they came out. They're not hidden at all.
Just bought a PS1 last week, thanks for the list!
My wife and I both still enjoy playing Tiny Tank...fun game! Ghost in the Shell is one of my favorite sorta obscure PS1 titles.
Had such a blast with hogs of war as a kid and silent bomber was awesome but it got stupid hard so I never completed it 🤣 nice list haven't heard of the other games 👍
Cheers Gaz! Glad you found something new 😊
@@thatvideogamesshow damn right man 👍
Its funny when your Canadian and you hear of Sled Storm being a obscure/hidden gem EVERYONE had it here haha
I remember spending many hours playing the Hogs at War demo. It reminded me of Worms a lot.
I don't like racing games but Sled Storm... is another story.I loved that game since the first time I played it,so fun to play!
So much fun, especially all of the tricks!
Ray Crisis, Time Crisis and Dino Crisis: A Dream Come True
Holy shit someone finally recognizes Silent Bomer. Total sleeper hit and was a ton of fun back in the day. Never heard of Wolfgang, looks great though. I'll for sure check that out.
Yeah, Silent Bomber is a great game and very hard too jejeje
I played Tiny Tank all the way to the end. Some of the cg scenes are funny and entertaining but gameplay can get difficult in certain areas. Still it's a must play.
I am so happy. I finally have seen someone else play tiny tank on RUclips. I loved this game growing up and that black hat bit was my goal to keep that thing as long as possible 😂 hilarious and so much fun. ☺️
Such a solid game!
@@thatvideogamesshow indeed!!! It’s one I’m always excited to pull out and play
"Captain Tsubasa J" was a big PS1 hidden gem for me! also Pocket Fighter
I like your videos is always well done. I just miss the game sounds. I think u could present the games while playing their sounds on the background.
N2O: Nitrous Oxide always get left out even though its sooooo good
N2O was a trip! I loved it. The Crystal Method soundtrack was one of the best OST choices I've seen a game make. And you could stick it in a CD player for a free album 😆
I just recently bought and played Rhapsody. I loved it. It has flaws in some dungeon design but the story is a tear jerker.
Well I’m sold. I love a good story in a game!
a pretty obscure ps1 game id say is eternal eyes (2001). its an RPG where you collect puppets for your team kind of like pokemon but its a strategy rpg. its nothing amazing and is a bit bland but i believe it has some charm to it. i like the character design and the music is fantastic. just gives off a really nostalgic feeling but thats probably just because i remember watching my sister play it when i was a little kid. its really cheap as well
Still havent seen anyone talk about The Unholy War, its my fav hiddem gem. A mix of arena 1v1 brawler with a fun cast & a tactical mode. A mish-mash like ergheiz but both parts were really good.
I was just coming to talk about that. I almost never see it mentioned, but hear nothing but good things when someone does bring it up. It's criminally unknown.
There was a Fire-fighting game on PSX, hammered it on the demo disc.
Re Boot Tiny Tank. Seriously that game rocked and with today's hardware it would be a great shoot 'em up.
Speed Punks needs to be on one of these lists... it's an excellent kart racer with truly unbelievable graphics for PS1.
As soon as I saw Sled Storm I immediately remembered the soundtrack.
Great video thank you a lot!
may i ask what music is this from time 3:00 i did not find this music in the game RAYCRISIS OST
Can you help?
Some great choices here dude ;)
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
I have been playing the ps 1 for a long time now. My favorite hidden gems are Brave Fencer Musashi, Tomba 1 and 2, Pacman World, Bugs Lost In Time and its sequel, and Blast Chamber.
11:19 Nice cut!
I've played Sled Storm when it came out back in the day and it's a lot better than you've been able to describe, in my opinion. The biggest features are the soundtrack and the awesome snowhawk sleds (the ones that look like dirt bikes converted to snowmobiles but with only one ski up front). Those snowhawks completely changed the way the game handled.
I also played Rhapsody when it came out as well and it's a pretty solid RPG for its time as well. Kind of a sappy story to it, from what I remember, but the gameplay was spot on compared to it's competitors (like Lunar: Silver Star Story, Tales of Fantasia, etc).
Soul of samurai was an amazing game, wish I could see it in a top some day
A question about the Encroachment Percentage in RayCrisis: what other benefits do you get from keeping it from reaching 100% besides not being sent directly to the final boss? I might have to try it out.
I am a big fan of classic gaming, this vid is kool
Small Soldiers was slept on because the team behind it didn’t spend much of anything on marketing, they figured the movie was large enough to ride the wave but they released it too late for that to be the case. Its story is divorced from the movie, instead focusing on the backstory of the Gorgonite war and their homeland. Amazing third person shooter for its time with stunning soundtracks and epic split screen multiplayer versus! The campaign is fun as hell too.
Sled Storm the best!
I gotta go back to Silent Bomber, my childhood memories
Silent Bomber was very well known in Europe. Crazy nice game, really need a remake
Man, that Tekken TAG2 ost in the beginning of the video is very nostalgic.
Such a great song! 😊
hogs of war and rhapsody we're actually pretty popular back then. especially rhapsody. it's one of those games that you would often see get recommended in magazines as a classic around that time. it's also the game that made people know about NIS.
Yeah most of my friends had Hogs of War tbh, used to play multiplayer mode in our own generated maps so much!
I think i have 4 copies of Silent Bomber. The PAL version has a production issue. The game crashes at a certain cut scene on most copies. Never got to complete it :(
Sledstorm is a legit fking gem.
Maaaaybe rough to get into now, but was absolutely a pure gem at the time.
The image looks real crisp, where do you play these games for recording?
Looks like RetroArch to me
Thank you so much i will get at least 2 od the gMes
HOGS OF WAR, I GREW UP ON THAT SHIT. The stitched multicolour map was my favourite.
Such a quirky game!
Brooooo silent bomber!!! I played this game on a game informer demo disc and have been searching for it ever since. I totally forgot it’s name.
I'm curious as to the name of the tracks you used for the intro, during RayCrisis, and Gamera 2000?
Fist of the North Star import,Dark Tales from The Lost Soul import and the Point Blank series if you're lucky enough to still have a CRT📺.
That turtle is badass
Koudelka and parasite eve are my favourite ps1 games
Hogs of war also voiced by the late Rik Mayall, made the game so much better I loved him man
Same here, especially the Bottom series!
@@thatvideogamesshow yeah watched the whole of that show multiple times when I was younger, such a character
I wish games like Tiny Tank, and later on Metal Arms were still being made today. I love quirky robot characters.
Totally agree, there a severe lack of games of that kind these days.
Ahhh Tiny Tank one of my fave game only few know it
I rented it all the time as a kid
I got hogs of war on release, it was a really good game, I'm so glad they released it on steam as well, as that game is extremely polished for a playstation game, and has a lot of secrets! Silent Bomber always gets a like from me, that game definitely deserves some love, especially for the epic boss fights!
Hogs of war inspire Worms 3d and Worms 4.
Mini tanks made me think about Seek and destroy.
A PS2 game where the tanks are actual characters. 😂😁
Devil Dice is a great hidden gem
I'll take a bullet for any human that likes Silent Bomber, the GOAT of obscure video games. My childhood PS1 favorite. 😭
which song is playing when yyou're talking about rhapsody a musical adventure? Is it a OST from the game?
Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure also has been ported to the Nintendo DS and it is also a part of a trilogy of JRPGs that are collectively called the Marl/Marl's Kingdom Trilogy. However, the other two games in the series were never localized, though you can get some English translated unofficial copies of the game.
What do you rate the series?
It would be tight if you had the list of games in the description
Sled Storm is good, but everyone knows it. *Sno-Cross Championship Racing*, on the other hand, was completely overshadowed by the PS2 launch! It is the Gran Turismo of snowmobiling. Check it out!
Sol Divide was a good obscure game...
