      I just got accepted into the SkyWest Pilot Pathway Program today!!! with only 20 flight hours (the instrument rating is suggested but not required)

      @@6_sevenrich194 I didn’t get to fly out for an in person training because of covid but the online orientation was very informative and I learned lots of thing and gained access to resources to help me through my training

    I just applied to the Skywest CADET program @ 53 years old. I think this is a perfect time. I want a new challenge I'm financially stable and it would not create a hardship for me or my family.

    You probably answered this. Do I gotta be a CFI to apply? I’m commercial Single & Multi engine with IFR rating! Not sure if I want to go the CFI route!

    So they will ask you a question at the same time they give you an advice what to say about the questions? I am confused

    How does it work during flight school. I’m going to go to UVU flight school to get my R-ATP certificate. So as soon as I get past 250 I can join it and do it during flight school right?!

    One thing to know, that seniority you talked about is for the company seniority, not the pilot seniority. A big difference.

      @@nimbapilot6925 pilots earn seniority rank based on how long they have been flying as pilots. The more you fly, the faster you get promoted to captain rank. The company seniority at SkyWest, you as a trainee, gives you a power over other people who signed up after you, to pick your desired schedules etc. The seniority he briefly talked about in the video was the company seniority, not the pilot seniority. In other words, less stressful during training, first come first serve type of deal you get.

    Actually you don’t have to have your license to join it, as long as you already in a flight school, am currently in ATP flight school,and on my second week, I applied for it, and just got email today, said i was accepted. And I don’t even have my PPL yet.

    Hey , I’m about to start the American AirlinesCadet Academy . After my year of flight training can i join this program ? Or will i have to build my hours as a CFI as a cadet at the school ?

      Thanks for watching my video and leaving a comment. The orientation was on video call with 30+ other people. They were welcoming us and talking about the history of skywest.       Hi, thank you for watching my video and leaving a comment. The orientation was sadly online. I heard they use to fly people out to check out their location. Yes It was over a zoom call and they mostly talked about their history and why Skywest is a good airline to work for. At the end they opened it up for any questions. Have you applied for the program yet?

    I planned on going to ATP flight school in August. I only have high school diploma and am 20 years old. i am now realizing you have to be 23 years old to work for major airline so i don't know what to do now.

      You can be a regional first officer at 21. ATP is still a good choice. You will need a year and a half to get 1500 hours anyway

      Update..One year you have to pay for your training once you hit certain amount of hours then you’ll get some attention.. will report next year .. good day 😊

      Yes you can apply now even if you are doing your training at a small local flight school. I would highly recommend you to apply now!

      @@MichaelHsu95 are they highly selective? My grades were pretty mediocre in highschool but I have a 3.9 at my community college

    Now I have a Mortgage and other bills to pay. Would this program involve pay or is it for someone that doesn't have as many financial commitments?

      I will say you contact Southwest airline to know if it's only for us citizens or residents.Ask if it's also open to international students

    I'm Korean, so I need to get a visa to apply this program. If sky west could provide H1-B visa for foreigner, I want to try it.

      H1-B won't work. Youy need at least a green card to work for any aviation companies.

    So what really is this program? Helps you get the job with the company? Also, why does the seniority matter when one is already a CFI at a different school ? What benefit would I get?

      The seniority helps you if you decide to work for skywest. They give interview prep before your interview as well

      @@MichaelHsu95 I just watched a video from their YT channel and I think I understand now. So, the seniority would help me to schedule for sim for training to fly with them earlier than the rest once I get hired by them? I thought they meant SIM for training in between getting the 1500 hours.

      @@GOMD77 the seniority will help you get the base you want sooner as well as choose a good sim time during training. The sim is the one used for airlines when you get hired on. Hope this was helpful, be sure to subscribe!

      No it’s not. This is not a training program, they will not teach you how to fly. This program is for when you have all the requirements to join the airlines

    "Because it's free!" Does any pathway program charge to join? Some of them actually pay the members while they instruct.

      @@MichaelHsu95 I was referring to the so-called "stipends" or "tuition reimbursement" offers that are advertised. There are quite a few that advertise it. Also, I wasn't being critical. I thought you brought up an interesting point.

      @@danbuffington75 got it!! I’m not too sure about the tuition reimbursement since I didn’t use it, but all I know is that nothing is free. If the airline will give you money they will get it back somehow, sometimes in the form of making you sign a contract saying you have to work for them for x amount of years. How far along are you in your training?

    Nice that you don’t have to pay your dues. But buyer beware…..no substitute for experience! 14,000 hour Corp Pilot.
