So I'd legit read a whole book of tales from this guy- It reminds me of those, like, search and rescue stories with the stairs in the woods and I'm living for it
The narration makes me think of a hardened seamen who’s seen his fair share of hell on the water reflecting on every moment in his life and the sea creatures he’s seen
Heck yeah, I love the stories you come up with for these month challenges. Also all the drawings are amazing and the new pokemon design is very cute! I love 'em
Rewatching after going back through your Apoctober series. The stories really caught me; you don’t expect such terrifying lovecraftian ocean creatures to be portrayed with sympathy. It’s really engaging, and both this and Mazah have me hooked!
The second mermaid makes me think of selkies. I really love the mermaids though, and how they aren't always as beautiful as the tales make them seem. They are all so creative! also after watching more of the video: Melumuse is so pretty 🥺 I love how her hair looks like flowing water, and I also see a lot of Cresselia refrences (no sure if you meant for them to be similiar) the slightly open mouth, the arms and the cressent hair/wings. All in all I love Melumuse too much I wanna explode!!!
Hooo. Man, all these could become eldritch horror. That art, that voice, that story. All perfect. You should make another series. Btw, Melumuse is amazing!

I love how uncanny all the non-pokemon mermaids are. Just making them all so uncomfortably human in the most off-putting ways is just so great. Wow... this has to have been probably my favorite video I have seen this year. A Sea faring tale told by an old sailor with major fantasy designs and story. I want to add the creatures to my d&d world. And follow that with your amazing pokemon design only to end on that comedic note. *chefs kiss*
I’m vibing so much with this new mermay lore and this grizzled, learned seaman as the narrator. Yet another creation of Jack’s that i’d pay top dollar for a full comic or novel about.
I love the feel of all of these art pieces! I was half expecting to see something to come crawling out of day 5, real Orphan of Kos vibes from the Bloodborne DLC.
While I like the general feel and theme of the siren legendary, I can't quite imagine how how it looks in motion. It kinda reminds me of Cresselia, it looks pretty but it sort of just floats around awkwardly. That sort of 'floating' design could work for the crowded reef or deathly-still deep ocean, but an estuary creature should look more naturally mobile. Hope this doesn't come off as sounding too demanding, it's just a thought.
Ooh, I always look forward for the mermay lore! I really like how this year we'll be exploring the relationship of the creatures with humans closer to the surface
