It’s common that men will “save” a woman they’re attracted to. If they think you’re ugly, they don’t care. They’ll step in when they can gain something from it. Otherwise it’s not worth it for them. The pretty damsel in distress being saved by her knight in shining armour and they fall in love.
I’ve had it before, when I’ve been out drinking and my mates left me on my own. This group of military boys were incredibly friendly and helpful, it was nice. For once these men are helping a drunk girl on her own, until I refused to go back to their base multiple times, then I was a b*tch, and ugly anyway.

I actually instantly knew he was not the real deal the moment his social media was mentioned. Because my cousin's husband was special ops (not in China but still), and he never had social media accounts, was not allowed to. More than that, family and friends were not allowed taking, let alone posting, pictures of him. He never advertised that he was special ops. So this boyfriend's social media with him running around in camo could have been the first clue that he was just pretending.

The fact that Hong came from an affluent rich family and he's a drop out sounds to me like he's relying his parents money and that he grew up like that. Spoiled and immature. I think ultimately, he's insecure that this Beautiful young girl from a humble bg successfully graduated and is on the way to be the best version of herself and he's just there busy with his delusions of being a special ops. Nothing going on in his life but delusions.
So every "wrong" move of his gf offended him because he's already insecure deep down, now he thinks his gf is also looking down at him, i mean how could she? A mere female. That's i think how he thinks.
I also thinks part of his motive was to satisfy his fantasy of being in military. And people are stupid enough to believe him. To him, she's not his gf. Someone he can use and nothing more. I don't he really cared for her even from the beginning. He just likes her because she's pretty and it feeds his ego to be with her.

I saw a video earlier today about a man waiting for his partner (idk if it was his wife or girlfriend) for 54 mins after she said she would be done.
The two of them got in the car and drove off as his jokingly complained about waiting almost an hour.
It was so normal and funny. I can’t imagine a situation like that going sour and turning into this. There are truly evil people in the world. The parents will never know a day of peace but I hope they rest a little easier at night knowing they gave their daughter the justice most women will not see in this life when against families in “higher positions”.

Growing up, I knew a guy like Hong. Just obsessed with the military, guns, and all kind of shooter games. Then he grows up, start playing laser tag, paint ball. Facebook page always full of photos of him fully geared up, tear gas mask, goggles and everything. Always post status about operations this and that, while it was just paintball or laser tag. I always thought he was kinda delusional. Watching this episode sent chills down my spine, all the symptoms are so similar. Anybody else also know somebody growing up who is like this?

I don’t think it’s necessarily always obsessive. I have family members that like to go to and organize airsoft games from time to time, have knowledge of guns and military tactics. But it’s not something that took over their lives - it’s simply a hobby. I myself have dabbled in airsoft, though very rarely, and must say what little knowledge I gleaned seems useful from a survivalist standpoint. I think the problem is when the military obsession is the only thing a person’s interested in.

@@therussianprincess7036yeah, growing up I’ve always been interested in the military and tactics and the like. I’d play Airsoft too, though I never did go around pretending I was some sort of Tier 1 operator, that’s weirdo behavior.
Though I was always interested in the uniforms, equipment, and training of the average joe snuffy, and it is what led me to actually enlisting in the US Army.
I’d say it’s a case of moderation, it’s only healthy when it’s an interest and not a full blown obsession, like don’t make that your core personality and you’re green.

I’ve never been SA’d before but I can NOT possible imagine how it must feel to have to essentially relearn daily life, just to return to “normal” (when that’s not even possible, at least from the experiences I’ve heard). Not only that, but to have to constantly deal with reliving the moment… even though it’s a thing of the past, it stays with you. It sticks to you. It clings to you, refuses to fall off and dissipate. It fuses with you and makes itself right at home when you never gave it permission, just like with your attacker. I’m not sure how accurate this all is, you likely know better as a survivor yourself, but I’d word it like you’re violated twice… or over and over again. First your abuser, then by the horrible feelings coming in, then by any people who don’t believe you, etc. It’s like the assault and abuse unlocked and opened a gate. Behind that gate are several wild beasts, from lions to bears that you have to fight off and wrestle. Every. Day. WHILE fighting to put back together the pieces of you your abuser broke.
Again, if this is not very relatable to you, or accurate in general, that’s ok. Everyone’s experience is different, no one has the same exact story and feelings. However you feel about it, *it is VALID. YOU ARE VALID.* I truly hope you can experience relief soon, even a bit of tension going away. Best wishes ♥️

I wouldn't ever think someone's imagined slight would lead to my murder; he should have been an adult & communicated his feelings rather than continue to date her while filled with hatred towards her. She more than likely wasn't even thinking about him at that time, she probably stepped away to call her parents.. & because of his bruised ego & need for power & dominance her parents lost their only beautiful & smart daughter. Hi, English Language teacher here. The equivalent language exam for English Fluency is the C2/CPE Proficiency. Native speakers would most likely pass the use of English section without much trouble as their passive fluency would collocate the question naturally for them. However, the reading and writing exam would be a completely different story unless they had been through University and had experience of context reading and academic writing. I always tell my students that by the time they reach a C1 level, they have a better understanding of English grammar that 90% of native speakers. I remember my friends back home in the UK used to say "Oh, your job is so easy!", so I'd send them C1 exams and mark it for them and have to tell them they'd failed. Just because you speak a language natively, doesn't mean you've mastered it. The vast majority of native speakers couldn't explain adjective order, or why we use the present perfect over the past simple and vice versa. And don't even get me started on asking anyone to explain what a mixed, inverted, conditional is!!
To pass ANY foreign language exam at the highest level possible is amazing. In my 16 years teaching English all over the word, the vast majority stop at B2, some get the C1, and very, very few even attempt the C2. So for this girl to have passed a Japanese C2 exam, at such a young age, makes her an incredibly gifted language user.
And you were spot on when you said "dating vibes" - I worked in China for 2 years and literally all the male "teachers" there bar one were there to "date" Chinese girls, they had no idea how to explain something as simple as articles and it disgusted me that they used my vocation to prey on students. Unfortunately language teaching is a completely unregulated industry and so it's a breeding ground for predators or people looking to make money from desperate students.

It really shows how much of a monster this guy truly was.

Hong’s father should be investigated. Who knows how many times he covered-up for his son. Maybe Lily is not Hong’s first victim.

If the family of the victims wanted the death penalty and got it
    Then justice was served
Who are we to decide on their behalf? They just lost their daughter.
If we lived in a world where the fate of the criminal was always in the hands of their victims, we'd see a world more just.

OMg finally a story where there is actual justice at the end. Its crazy how sick people fit in to society so well that they can trick anyone at any time for no rational reason.

How insensitive and disrespectful of Hong’s dad to ever in his right mind think that money could suffice for Lily’s murder. Smh. So glad Lily’s dad rejected that because seriously. How the hell is the money supposed to fix anything? No amount of money could repair that. The audacity!

There is a case that happened not long in Ghana where 2 teens killed their friend who was 11 year old cos they wanted to use him for money rituals . They are currently serving life in prison . If you can cover this case it shook the whole country because we barely here such stuff .

What i love the most about listening to these stories is how stephanie builds it up until bam, plot twist. It's so sad tho to think that the person you trust your life with is actually the one plotting to end it.
