Self-unalive or not, this boy was gone. A child and the fact they didnt find his body for more than 100 days is what raises questions on the schools behalf. Shame on the school and shame on police.
Yeah, the school claimed on the Frist day of him going missing that they had search the entire school grounds before contacting the family that he was missing. I'm convinced the school tried to cover up some kind of fatal accident, cause, by their own negligence.

Really scary to hear how many countries’ systems for investigating missing children cases are so flawed. Like, they’re literally the most vulnerable population ????
Even in America, there was absolutely no system set up to investigate missing children until the disappearance and death of Amber Hagerman in 1996. That brutal crime was what led to today's AMBER alert system. Because a neighbor saw a suspicious, unrecognized truck in their neighborhood but there was no system in place for people to report witnessed events. Originally, before cellphone capabilities were implemented, it would be broadcasted on all local news stations, and posted on overhead highway kiosks.
Especially whenever natural disaster happen, it'll casually assumed as victim of the natural disaster case.

Academic pressure on kids and depression taboo in Asia needs to be addressed on a much larger scale.
The job industry is the root of that. Saying “the industry is so competitive, only the top graduates of these top universities can ever get a job that pays well” is absolute bullshit, majority of jobs can be done within just a few months of training and many industry leaders are in fact dropouts. Not everyone has to be a quantum physicist or surgeon so stop telling 12 years olds that they have to qualify for one or their life is over.

I'm a Psychology major and what his mother said about her not knowing what depression is, is really really sad. A lot of people especially older people aren't aware that depression is real and others even refuse to believe it exists.
Unfortunately true, and I hate it when I see people blaming the parents. the parents are just ignorant and unconscious and its wrong to say its their fault as if they don’t care or feel the pain for their children. Its just a different time and they don’t understand what we are going through.

As a Mother of 5, if my child was crying to me and not telling me what happened, you better know I’m going to see my child and help them. I don’t blame the Mother because some people may not know what to do. Yeah, unfortunately many kids in East Asia are forced to deal with all the “educations” like robots in order to have a little more opportunities for living.
Can we just talk about parents living there? The helicopter parenting wrt parents living WITH kids is disturbing and disruptive. There's OBVIOUSLY NO privacy. In a home the teen may have a room, but now a parent is in his/her face 24/7 except for classes and activities. The parent's elevated presence during these years when even in a totalitarian regime/etc with natural brain development and all puberty brings with it are crushed like a badly fitting shoe. It doesn't sound like a best situation for other kids either. Don't know if the dorms were separated by "with/parent" and w/o cohabitation, but ... 🤦♀️. Even doing chores is a part of the growth.
In a best-case scenario IF resisent adults were housed in a SEPARATE living facility, possibly sharing rooms with other parents, a parent's unimpeded presence could, no d'ugh, be an issue - from embarassment to the student, socialization/ANY sense of privacy for the kid and (no D'ugh!) would impact the kid's relationship with others. Imagine not being able to visit a friend's room because there's a vested in-your face parent there ALL THE TIME! It's a grotesque set up no matter how one slices it, EVEN for a Chinese/Asian parenting norm.

@@Marlenka1991 I blame society more than just one mother. Yes, she was ignorant and not the best mother but that is how she grew up and saw everyone around her acting too. In korea, your education directly correlates to your position in society. If you aren't already rich, the only way your can live a "respectable," comfortable life in Korea is have good grades in order to get a decent white collar job and raise your social standing. That is why most of the population (middle class or poorer) cares so much about education.
Edit: Oops China im sorry I got very upset with the govt and society in this case and it reminds me of so many cases of korean society not recognizing mental health is an issue I got carried away in my typing and got heated and mixed it up. This doesnt just happen in China, a lot of Asian countries are like this

@@Marlenka1991 I'm not Chinese. But I'm Indian. Our education system is just as f-d up. Our parents put alot of pressure on kids to study well and what not. Just a cultural thing. Like his mother said she didn't even know what was depression. I know it's the same thing in our Indian community. The older generation has no idea what depression is. Alot of them grew up on farms, and barely had the chance to become educated themselves. A lot of our grandparents/and parents who grew up in rural areas, their biggest problem was getting food on the table. I know that alot of these parents think, 'you have food and shelter, you don't have to labour in the fields, so why would you be depressed.' So I wouldn't blame them really. It's sad definitely. They need to be educated about depression not blamed.

Even if a minor runs away, it shouldn't be ignored just because they run away. They are still kids and dismissing a case because they ran away is wrong. Even a runaway deserves to be found.

In my country, the parents still have the right to decide where their kids can stay ("Aufenthaltsbestimmungsrecht") so even if the kid left by their own will, police could enforce this parental right. But for some reason, they don't. They just wait hoping the kid comes back eventually and if they don't the cops lost precious time to try and find them. It's frustrating.

It's so possible and honestly normal that his mom didn't know he was struggling.
My first year of college was awful and bc I was away from home and not necessarily talking to my mom daily she genuinely didn't know how bad it was. It's super easy for a child to lie in that situation.
Even kids live with their parents still it is possible that they don’t know what exactly goes into kids minds. I lived in joint family and in my childhood I faked a grade on the mocked test that I failed but luckily got caught and my parents handled it well and helped me to get a tutor and my performance improved.
I live with my mom, kept it in for years, when i finally told her she called me a 'mopey teenager' about a year later I was bawling to my doctor during covid as soon as she got into the room, then ended up with a diagnosis and meds. Even if parents know they don't want to admit it, because they feel like it's their fault, like they did something wrong. When some people just have chemical imbalances, they're genetic. Mental illnesses can be hereditary and I know she's had depression and anxiety trouble.
Even parents who live with kids don't know their struggles or are not willing to see them... my mum wasn't willing and still is not to accept that my sister has anxiety.. and I went through worst 2 years of my life mentally but she didn't notice anything..
He also could have been purposefully hiding it from his family, he's described as a people pleaser and a perfectionist so maybe he didn't want to upset/burden his family with his problems, or even admit that he's not doing as well as he appears. I was like this as a teenager and that's how I thought anyway.

Also, it is possible that he committed suicide, and was quickly found by school officials who then tried to cover it up to avoid a scandal or taking responsibility. Then, when they realised the case wasn't dying down and the family wasn't going away, they strung him back up so that he could be discovered.
But the phrase "panda blood" does refer to rh negative blood in China because only about 0.3% of the Chinese population has rh negative blood, making it "as rare as pandas".

This makes the most sense to me with the extensive searches and how close he was to the school when found. He killed himself. School wanted it to seem like a missing person since they already had deaths at the school. When they realized it was worse for them because the family wasn't just letting it go they put him back to be found. That's what I was thinking by the end as well.

I heard this from my therapist: some kids develop this "sixth sense" for their parents' emotions. For some, this translates into all other people. So then, for example, even if your parents are not telling you to be #1 in class, you pick up on their disappointment that you aren't #1, and you feel guilty. He probably felt the same about his social life, picking up on whether his classmates like him or not and thinking he's unlikable. As soon as you said he was super caring towards his grandma, it sank into me. He was trying his absolute hardest to be good to everyone- putting effort into being helpful, not causing trouble. He probably only told his mom he wants to drop out when he could no longer stand it, it was probably his way of bursting out. It's not always the strict parents that trouble kids, but also the nice understanding parents with secret expectations. Kids pick up on it, and the especially sensitive ones- they're gonna take it to heart.

As soon as you mentioned that his white shirt was missing and his hoodie was zipped on backwards, and the dogs never picked up a scent, it was solidified in my mind that there's no way that he wasn't murdered and placed there. I was already pretty much convinced when you mentioned that the security footage from that whole night was mysteriously deleted. I just don't get what the motive was...

That assumption actually makes no sense. He could have easily dumped the shirt. I'm not sure why she stated otherwise, but it's extremely easy to zip up a hoodie, put it on like a pullover, pull the back up, and zip it to the top. Or zip it up, put it on, and turn it backwards. Super easy.
What's nearly impossible is to take a deceased body, climb 15 feet up with the body, and hang it with shoe laces. It seems that many people prefer the more dramatic story compared to the more logical one.

I saw another comment here mention their theory that the school covered it up to avoid as scandal, as well as taking responsibility, and when they realised they wouldn’t be able to brush it under the rug and move on, they strung his body up the way it was before and let people finally find everything the same way they discovered it. I’m inclined to believe this theory, as someone unaliving themselves would do more damage to the school’s reputation.
I love how their relationship has them talking about true crime cases together like this and he spends most of the time listening and putting in some input here and there. I don’t usually comment on other people relationships but I just thought that was a cute little part of it to see.

What I find so heart breaking and bitter sweet is he thought it was meaningless, that no one cared but the whole world cared. The school didn’t but the world did.
This case just left an unsettling feeling in my mind, heart and stomach.
1. The recording/ pen found on the wall sounded “placed for evidence”. (A pen on a wall would stay the same place after 3 months?🤔. Is there no wind in this country?).
2. Students that have been at this shed never “happen to go back there” and stationed guards that worked night and day at this location never saw a thing.
3. Better yet, his last recording was almost midnight. He never walked with his phone or a flashlight. So how was he able to tie two laces firmly enough to hold his body, tie those shoe laces on a branch IN THE DARK, LAY a pen on the wall in the dark.
Ohhhh and don’t forget in the child “confessional recording” he SAID that HIS VISION was DETERIORATING‼️
4. If the white shirt and melted with his decompose body, why was there still a complete jacket? (Shouldn’t be partially degrade or completely too?
5. Why didn’t the decomposing acid not melt the laces or weaken it? (Which means the body would be found on the floor with small fragments of lace). It wasn’t a rope so why🤔
This just sounded like someone harmed him but his “backstory” just fell into it being the PERFECT motive for hanging himself.

If the school called the parents around 11pm, he would have still been alive at that time. That means when the father had rushed into the car to get to the school as fast as possible, he was still alive. It’s kind of disturbing, knowing that the father was driving as fast as he possibly could to the school while this poor boy was making such decisions and sitting in the dark past midnight.

This just made me realize that if they waited two or less hours opposed to the five, his father and aunt would have made it to the campus while he was still alive. It probably wouldn't have made a change in outcome because of where he was, but the around 20 minute gap between the phone call to the family and the kid's last recorded log is saddening

I also went to a similar boarding school in Vietnam. The system was like this where we were grouped by grades and I was a lucky one to not be at the bottom of the classes I ended up in. This benefits the teachers, but having all your grades public and ranked for everyone to see is detrimental. There were a few students in my school who too jumped to their death due to the pressure of having to perform well for these important exams.

One my middle school teachers was like that she taught history and at first I didn’t like her but she would seat us in a certain way where the better your grades you were in the front row and the lower your seated in the back and she would call it drowning which as a 12 year old was embarrassing asf so it motivated us to work hard or how we would grade each other’s assignments instead of the teacher so we wouldn’t want to look dumb to our peers but I can’t imagine the pressure of my grades being plastered out for the whole entire school to see I get it but I don’t

This happened before at an Italian boarding school, and the kid was a high-ranking government officials son.he decided to stay on campus for spring break, and finally, his mom allowed it. But a week after the students left, he went missing. They searched everywhere for him, and then one day, they found him hanging on a tree right inside the main gate when you came in. He fell from the rope soon as police got there cause his body had been gone too long. The medical examination showed he didn't hang himself he was already gone before that. The family didn't know how you could miss him. No one could. They found out later that he was put there after everyone left. Cause he found out his roommate was doing it with the teacher. So they hid him till everyone was gone.

When you started stating what he said in the recording pen, I started tearing up. My heart broke for him knowing he was so overwhelmed and under so much pressure due to his academics. I hope he is able to rest peacefully. My condolences to his family as well.
A girl in my year (we were like 40-50 students max - everybody knew each other) took her own life and it felt so random. Out of the blue, no signs. It was only in hindsight that we noticed things. I don't know the circumstances of her passing as it wasn't my business, I heard some rumours. So I can 100% believe that it came from nowhere in people's eyes. I think I had a chill conversation with her the day before or the day before that. Nothing strange, then, poof She was gone forever.
I still have her picture somewhere I believe. I've kept it for 15 years as a reminder of what that choice means and I've never wanted her to be forgotten.
My friend in high school took her life the night before we were all supposed to have a sleepover- the story we were told was she was upset about a fight w/ fam or bf but you never know where minds are at - there were no signs
Our English teacher was beaten to death by her husband on Thanksgiving one year and I've kept the vintage magazine of Marliyn Monroe she gave me all these years since to remind me to not be a woman murdered by any man and not getting started by putting up with any signs of violence. So far, I have honored her memory.
"What is the point of studying if I can't improve?" hit me HARD. When i was young, I was a "gifted kid," and I started struggling around middle school. My expectations for myself were very high, so it felt like if I couldn't do as amazing as I always had before, I may as well not do it at all. I very nearly didnt graduate at all because of that mindset.
As for the odd way his hoodie was on, it may have been a sort of embarrassment. When i was at my lowest, i never wanted people to see me like that. I felt embarrassed to need help, embarrassed that I was doing so badly when others weren't. It could have been some sort of last minute "don't look at me" thing.

You know, if they had found him like he imagined (the next day) everyone would be so surprised and would talk about his death all day but when he has his hoodie backwards, they would talk about how odd it was him to have his hoodie backwards. It can also be to hide his face as well.

I have heard that in China, because the economics and education aren't good, many parents would sacrifice anything to give them children good education so that they don't need to suffer as they did. Many of parents went through extreme poverty or harsh situation. That's why you see lots of international students from China basically everywhere. I kinda understand.

THIS. I grew up in a wealthy enough household that food, water, shelter, and medicine were never huge worries. But when it came to emotional intelligence--garbage. We are all in family therapy now, but I doubt I will ever be able to forgive the years of invalidation trauma.
@ErutaniaRose I was thankfully lucky enough to grow up with a very compassionate and understanding family, even though we were always very poor. But, every one of my friends had parents who invalidated them, verbally abused them, or even worse. Every. Single. One. I hope you're doing better now, even though I know those kind of scars never fully heal.
My heart goes out to his mother. She tried her absolute best just to have people digitally spit on her. The only thing I can probably do is pray for peace for her and her family. Just to note, I had a brother pass in 2020 and that type of hurt never goes away and my mother will never recover from it. I find it incredible how absolutely no one could have found him on that wall since it was noted that other students climbed on that wall from time to time.

That's so sad. The mom tried to stay with him, but he refused. And he was traumatized by COVID, and honestly I think most people around the world were also traumatized by it all. It's ridiculous he was expected still to take the test while sick. But also more mental health awareness is extremely important.

@lovesweetdreams hey pal, I'm glad to hear it, but people respond to things in different ways 💀 and being depressed isn't even necassarly about trauma or "being sad", it can happen to anyone, and it's literally a chemical imbalance in the brain. That can screw with someones perception, especially when they are at at really low point

From someone who stayed in a boarding school for 4 years all I can say is I hated it with a passion, it felt like a prison. I feel so bad his parents not knowing why they lost their son is so heartbreaking and devastating. You can tell his mom is really affected just by looking at her videos she was physically worn out. I will definitely keep her in my prayers. 💔
"How did you notice?" Because he didn't show it, not everyone dealing with mental struggle shows it that much. I feel bad for both the family and the kid. And to whoever dealing with that sort of struggle, know you are loved. Exactly this. I struggle with s* ideation almost daily, and have extreme down days. But most people know me as very confident and extroverted, people at work love to comment how cheerful I always am, and how I'm always laughing. It's just a default state thats easy to do at this point. I guess I just don't wanna seem like an asshole so I act happy and outgoing. No one except a few close friends (who I only shared it with recently) have any clue whats going on beneath the surface.

Yeah I myself am a people pleaser I don’t like when people get upset with me and if I cry or show any type of negative emotion it makes people upset so I don’t show or say anything I go a therapist for my adhd I lied I knew I didn’t need a therapist for my adhd but even then I couldn’t even tell her for my whole time with her I never told her anything I was so scared that she would make a face, I’ve learned to read people well and if I saw a professional body language change even in the slightest I’d probably die inside I always kept a smile on my face

This one hits really close to home. I felt as if I was looking at another me, or a what could’ve happened situation. I feel for you Hu Xin, it’s so difficult to work so hard and try to make everyone happy, only to end up burnt out. I hope that if there is an afterlife you are ok and realized that there are always people who care about us, even if we can’t feel it. I think we were/are around the same age when covid was in full swing; and I felt the same way about school and life then. Everything seemed optional and even pointless so we lost our way. The thoughts he wrote down screamed undiagnosed ADHD to me and that makes me so sad 😞 I don't think people fully understand how much it affects people, teenagers, adults. People usually just think that you bounce around the whole time and can't focus, but ADHD causes so much more. I've felt like that so many times in my life, you feel useless and a failure. It never makes sense until you get a diagnosis and understand that you're not a failure. And this is even when you're doing well! But you know it's not your own best. So so sad. @@inimmz I have done nonstop research on this and heard it through psychiatrist lecturers on their own ADHD. Maybe this info hasn’t reached experts collectively yet. I never put info out there unless I’ve read it or heard experts talking about it. If I am unsure about something or haven’t researched it I don’t put it out there. It’s up to us ALL to do our own research. I’m not irresponsible in the knowledge I give out.
This is such a sad story. When I get suicidal ideation, the one thing that snaps me out of it every time, is to think about the impact it will have on my loved ones. I was talking to my adult daughter about it one day, and she said "Mama, don't you DARE leave me." Those words will stick in my head for the rest of my life.
Likewise for me, with my partner and best friend, whom I've known for most of my life. Feeling like a waste of space and life, struggling to get my life together, yet he's invested so much in me; from the love and intimacy we've shared, to how much he's financially looked out for me (especially now, being jobless and trying to find work to help support my return to my college education). If I didn't have someone like him, being my anchor, I'm not sure how much longer I would've held out. My mind's a mess, and I tend to fixate on death or morbid characters and events, because my brain's wired wrong. My partner keeps me from overfixating to dangerous levels.
Big same. I feel like I've been close a few times, but imagining how hard it might hit my mother has always held me back. We've always been best friends. I can't imagine being the cause of upset for her, but god damn I still wish I wasn't here most days.

I worked on a several different missing children cases as a journalist. Only one child found alive, but they technically were reported missing in a different jurisdiction from my news station. They found all the missing local kids, none of them alive. Truly crushing to see it all from the search process to the bitter end.
While not leaning into any one theory, I resonated so hard with the phonecall to his mother about "I just wanted to cry". Not speaking for everyone, obviously, but it's such a real thing for (some) people living with depression. As one such person myself, there are times when I cry and I really can't say why. I can't explain. I can't put words on the emotions threatening to choke me and burst my chest open, nor do I know what triggered them - all I know is that I am crying and I can't stop until my body/brain decides that we're done.
Thank you so much for walking us viewers through these cases. Not only do you speak about them with such respect, but it's evident how much effort and work that's been put down in preparation and research for each and every one. I also appreciate your communication in between each other during the videos: it both highlights and clarifies, but also humanises the involved people and makes (at least in my experience) for a wake-up call that these are real people and crimes we're hearing about. I felt like a rock dropped in my gut when you said his mother was deepfaked. While it's horrible that her image was used for scams, I momentarily feared someone pretended to be her son... I'm glad we haven't gotten to that point.

I feel so bad for the mother for the backlash she got. No parent would want their kid to die (of course there are some exceptions). Also I find it right that their parents never suspected their son to attempt su*cide, it would be last thing apparent would think of or would want to think of.
My sister passed from suicide and even when we got the call saying she did it we tried to find any other explanation except it being her. I definitely understand why that isn’t what anyone wants to believe since it’s such a heart breaking thing to happen.
I recently started watching your channel and really appreciate the way you approach these cases. The storytelling is excellent for starters, but I appreciate how you add clarification when it comes to cultural differences that play a part in the story but aren't something an outsider would generally think of. I also really appreciate that you don't state conjectures as facts. It's easy to focus on conspiracies and drama, but it's important to be upfront with what has been proven, what is likely, or what is whispered. As someone who does security at a store, I'm acutely aware of what I can see and prove, what I'm certain happened but can't actively prove, and what I assume might have happened but couldn't say for certain.

Nah, there’s no point in theorizing. People make theories to distract themselves from the harsh reality; people would rather make believe fake tragic stories that accept the heartbreaking truth. The truth is he off himself because of the pressure he felt due to the toxic school system, that’s all there is to it.

I do think people dismiss suicide too quickly though because it's in some ways easier to believe in conspiracies then that a young person would take their own life. Especially if you haven't dealt with these kind of feelings before, it's hard to recognise. Personally, that description of him going out onto the balcony and staring out at the forest for a few minutes before he disappeared... like that immediately screamed suicide to me, and then the evidence of him struggling at school and being a people pleaser pretty much sealed it. The backwards hoodie doesn't seem all that weird to me - I think the thought process would be he could cover his face and that would be less traumatising for whoever discovered him. I don't think it'd be difficult for a 15 year old to do - you'd zip it up first and then put it on, and then you could reach back and pull the zip up the rest of the way.
There was a lot of fishiness from the school but that can likely be explained by them trying to cover their own asses in an attempt to salvage the schools reputation.

We also had a recent case of 'now called suicide' by a 14 year old boy in his school hostel just a few days ago. It's so scary and heartbreaking to witness young people loose hope in the world.

And also joking around with friends while doing so and also still talking about true crime. I feel bad for the family. It must have been hard going from not knowing what happened to finding out he took his life. Most people don’t see someone is depressed or suicidal until it’s too late. So sad.
This is why it’s important to talk to the children in your life once a week for only 15 mins. Children especially want to be heard. It’s hard for people in general to share something so hard like feelings of depression, let alone if there’s any abuse or trauma. Children are our future and even though we have 5 children of my own, I often help other families with theirs. I love children, they are so pure and we need to protect them.
If it was a suicide then the cadaver dogs would have found him. There is absolutely no way he was hanging there for two months and no one found him. It's not a situation of maybe no one saw him. If he was there the whole time you would have smelled him.

I hate how much the public opinion, especially on social media, can just turn on a dime. Everyone goes from supporting the family throughout their search for their son, but as soon as it comes out that he likely committed suicide everyone starts blaming the family who clearly loved their son and just wanted him to be okay. If your child was telling you that their classes were too hard and they wanted to drop out of highschool, most of us would encourage them to stay with it and just keep trying. We would encourage them to not give up, because we understand the importance of finishing their education for a successful future. They even offered to live on campus to try to help him so that he wouldn’t have to worry so much, but he declined. They did everything they were supposed to do as a family, and that was to love and care for him. Now they have lost him forever, and SOME OF YOU ON THE INTERNET HAVE THE AUDACITY TO BLAME THEM FOR THEIR CHILD’S DEATH, AS IF THEY WEREN’T ALREADY BLAMING THEMSELVES AND SUFFERING?? Seriously, what is the goal in saying it’s their fault? Do you want THEM to commit suicide too? Maybe if they did we could all blame YOU for their deaths, and then the needless cycle of suffering can continue with your family having to deal with the guilt? Seriously people, no one knows the true reason why he would’ve taken his life, no one knew but him and he’s gone. If there is ANYONE still trying to blame the family, I implore you to cease in doing so.

The problem is, she literally blamed everyone else but herself. When she said, "I didn't know what depression was" it was the most surreal thing I ever heard in this century. It sounded like "I did not know babies cannot breathe underwater". Loving your child doesn't negate your ignorance, grieving doesn't mean you're not to blame at least partially. When you have a kid, you should educate yourself on certain topics like mental health.
It's absolutely insane that the study hall teacher didn't immediately alert the principal and the principal call the parents. In most public schools in America if you're child is missing from class (1st period) a robot call alerts parents by 10am. At my children's school if they are seen in the morning and not in the afternoon a robot call or teacher will call...if public school does that why do u think it unreasonable for a well funded private boarding school to do the same?
I’m in America too and they didn’t have this for my high school. My high school was actually built into a college campus so we could do dual enrollment and most of us just lied about what we were doing so we didn’t have to be in the high school building and could be on campus somewhere else, plus they couldn’t keep tabs on if we actually went to our college courses if the professors didn’t take attendance or if the professors refused to share attendance with our high school. So yeah my parents would’ve gotten an alert every time I had a college course (which I had 3-4 classes a semester so that would be everyday at least 2 times a day). Depends on the school.

in japan if you’re not at school by 8:30am they’ll call your parents immediately and ask where you are and sometimes the teachers would voluntarily go to the student’s houses if they’re having a hard time (well this was the case in my school at least)
it’s just as stephanie says, if a teacher calls the parents everytime a student isnt in class for reasons such as the student oversleeping, sick, etc. then it will just be a hassle. im not siding with the study hall teacher but i feel as if that amount of time passed before alerting the staff is understandable bc they were probably waiting for updates on him and when there was none, thats the time to alert everyone. here in the ph, public or private schools dont really alert parents if your child isnt present in class thats why my initial perspective is that there isnt a need for these alerts.
What gets me here is the lack of explanation for the missing camera footage. How can you not have it on the one day that a student goes missing? Did he tamper with the cameras? What happened
This reminds me so much of the Tanner Ward case. Please take a look into his story too. A young father went missing after a meeting with an old enemy. Found later hoisted high in a tree with mummified hands and his feet/shoes on the ground below. This was a public wooded area where many people had been even days before he was found. It was classed as su*cide and the wind was always blowing the other way to take the smell away.

I just discovered your channel. I love that you take your time painting the picture for us of what people went through in these situations. Thank you for not limiting your videos to under 30 mins, and giving us amazing detailed stories.
As someone who was also struggling like this during COVID, this hit hard. I felt exactly like him but I decided to pick myself up instead of doing what he did. His personality is also similar to my brother who cares too much about what others think. I hope that the education system can improve itself after this tragic death.
I am proud of you for picking yourself up and trying to continue, but I also think it's not that he didn't try and pick himself up it' just became too much for him to handle with all the pressure and stress that he decided to take his own life as to escape from reality

So that, when you have faith in Him, His righteousness is imputed onto you.
We are saved by grace alone through Faith alone.
Therefore, when you die, you will have eternal life with Jesus as He has clothed you with robes of righteousness.
He is sufficient and He saves!

I went to school undiagnosed. Everything you described is undiagnosed ADHD. This is heartbreaking. We HAVE to normalise mental health ASAP
You could tell the narrator is on Adderall or amphetamine the eyes show everything dilated pupils
I wasn’t diagnosed with ADHD until I was an adult and I also thought the same thing. Felt very similar to when I was his age but not nearly as good of a student by the sounds of it. Parents never noticed and I lived with them.
No what the described is literally just depression/low self esteem, that's how it makes you act.
@@epic7224depression and low self esteem are given with adhd. It’s very rare to have one without the other, especially depression, because adhd is a lack of dopamine in the brain. Lack of dopamine can mess with your emotional functioning.

It's hard to know what exactly happened but the suicide rate for young people in Asia has been known to be abnormally high due to academic pressure [among other things] and if that happen to him, it's devastating.
As for the jacket I have zipped up a jacket, pulled my arms into it and turned it around while wearing it so it's not like that isn't plausible.
Just like how Jeffrey Epstein commited suicide while the cameras weren't on. Funny how cameras seem to know the timing of suicides, isn't it?
It is densely populated because of that everyone has to be highly competitive for the limited resources; education, jobs, housing, food. Unless one has the ability to migrate to a country perceived to have less competition, one has stay and do what everyone else is doing : compete.
That was the thought I had too, that he could’ve put his jacket on normally then pulled his arms in and turned it backwards. Weird but not impossible.

Not everything is nefarious - sometimes people are just really bad at their jobs. RIP young man... depression is hell and I wish you had got through it but unfortunately it claimed another.

as someone (same birth year as the boy in the video) whos been severely depressed (+ has adhd and social anxiety among other things) for so long, his notes and recordings hurt because it felt way too similar to thoughts ive had. it hurts to think about how other people have the same thoughts and feelings and i wish everyone who read/heard his notes and felt that sting of familiarity could feel the comfort of reassurance and i hope youre all doing okay

Me and you are very alike, but I’m maybe a decade older than you. Life has had some big ups and big downs since I was your age, but it’s worth living. May not be perfect, but I plan to see it all the way through until I’m at least 80. Maybe then go out with a bang on all kinds of drugs while skydiving haha.

Could you please do the case of Sanda Dia. He died in 2018 after members of an elite fraternity forced him to drink fish oil, swallow goldfish and stand in an ice-filled trench. this case has been going on for multiple years now and the court has just decided the members (18 white boys) are only getting community service and a fine of 400 euros for the murder.
i really hope she covers this... thats so sad and dissapointing

the one thing that confuses me is if they searched that area, even briefly, or didn’t think to look up, how did they not see his shoes on the floor? this is a really sad story and i hope his family is doing okay

I feel bad for his family, especially his mother. I can easily see a parent of a child who went missing in such a suspicious way growing paranoid and starting to accuse people at the school. This case blew up with tons of people coming up with tons of theories so imagine what kind rabbit hole his actual mother fell into trying to figure out what happened to her son.

The moment you mentioned in the beginning of your story that he had gone up to the roof, and just stared out for a minute, I knew he had committed suicide. When I was a teen I have similar "issues" and that would have been something I would have done.
Turning his jacket into essentially a straight jacket too, might have given him the sensation of being held, and kept him calm.
It's not super surprising no one saw the body, things gets over looked in searches when they are UP. People tend to look down, not up, also more people in a search is actually hard because it's difficult to know who looked at what, and to keep to a grid. I have been a part of search teams so I know.
It's the school responsibility to have those cameras in good working order, when the principle and vice principle went to go look at the footage and realized it wasn't functioning, it's reasonable that they panicked and might have done some damage control.
I am not going to say anymore about this, who i heard it from, but he was wedged, not free hanging, which made him harder to see and his feet were neither pointing down or horizontal due to this positions.

I really like your channel and I love the way you tell the stories. What I like the most about you is I can actually see the shock, the sympathy, and the empathy on your face while you're telling the stories. I watch true crime stories and I find myself screaming at the TV
when I'm angry that they're not doing enough to solve the crime or when it seems they don't want to really investigate it and just let it go to the unsolved pile of crimes . I personally think that is really sad.
I also cry for the victims especially when it's a child!

The amount of time schools have been a the cause of a child's death is astronomical, these kids should go to school feeling safe, now kids these are wondering if they're next, it's so heartbreaking, these schools need to step up and do better
I was once put to the "top class" in my high school as well. But because my mom knew the principle, I begged her to try and arrange with the principle to put me in 2nd top class. BEST DECISION ever made. Man, that top class produced a lot of unhappy, pressured and unsatisfied lives. Just because someone was ONE mark behind, the rank could drop 20 gap. Absolutely crazy.

Honestly when you started describing how academically gifted he was, how he went to school in a flood, studied all the time, spent a ton of time helping his family, etc. My brain went straight to gifted kid, people pleaser, type A personality burnout/depression. As someone who was very similar to him in those respects I also got incredibly depressed and anxious when I could no longer keep up and felt like I was disappointing those who believed in me. I also struggled with SH and attempted unaliving myself. It's a really sad but very real pipeline.
Especially when it reached the point where he was given money to spend on himself and refused, first trying to give it to his grandmother and then paying his school fees…. Even if there wasn’t actual financial or parental pressure, kids can absolutely place that pressure on themselves. You convince yourself that money is even tighter than it is, or that you need to prove you can handle/support yourself, or whatever reason, and then you just keep pushing. And adults tend to just say “wow what a great kid” instead of realizing the amount of stress and fear underneath.
Could you please talk about Sanda Dia, he was a young man from Belgium that got killed while hazing. They made him drink liters of fish oil and made him eat fish that was still alive among other things. They tortured him and said racial slurs to him until he died. They only needed to pay a 400 euro fine and do some community service. For comparison if you don' have a public transport ticket you have to pay a 408 euro fine. The culprits literally got away with murder because they were rich with connections and the Belgian justice system sucks.

His experience with his grades, anxiety and his people pleasing tendencies is so close to my own experience in Highschool. Especially after covid. I really feel for him and his family
i really appreciate her not adding fuel to the fire of those crazy theories. people can think what they want, no one can stop them, but personally i think this is just clear cut case of a student driven to suicide due to the immense pressure that had been put on him to go above and beyond. not every case is going to be some convoluted murder mystery, some are just the harsh reality of how people's mental health can deteriorate to an extreme extent and have no one even notice. there were several points in my life where i was extremely depressed and suicidal, yet no one, not even my family whom ive lived with for years, knew a thing until years later. depression can happen to anyone, even when they look completely fine, more often times than not there are no obvious signs people can look out for, it just happens
