Deep strike, psychozaku, fazz ver ka, full armor gundam, strike Rouge, transformer types and most the ones that have elaborate, heavy and/or articulated backpacks. Especially kits that have a normal version but also an upgraded kit. They usually don't re engineer kits for the extra stuff. It can really affect balance, posing and parts staying to connected
If you haven't tried any RG kits they are a good test and learning tool. They're highly detailed, have as many or more parts than a MG and have a full inner frame. I'd also suggest choosing a kit that has you quick drawing your wallet. Look at reviewers on youtube and take notes on what they say isn't good. Get a couple opinions as well. A lot of those guys are just clip, fit and panel line. Mostly base their review on right out the Box status. Some of them want kits to be an action figure.. they usually show busted fins, armor panels that fall off and joints that are weak. I glue most knee armor on. Because if you can't easily take a kit apart to pose the individual sections you of have thumbs on the knees as you pose the legs. Quite a few don't just bend. they have staggered bending and knee pads that travel. Nearly every kit has color correcting stickers which trigger non painters. As well dark plastic without undergate casting. It's very difficult to fix discolored plastic. There's also pretty easy solutions to most situations where a kit has problems

I'd have to say a great beginner MG would have to be the ZGok. It's definitely an acquired taste for the design, but it's overall build is very simple and straight to the point. It also has great flexibility for dynamic posing and looks great if you paint it in a different color besides the default blue or Char red.

If you take your time you can build any kits, I just got my narrative mg ver ka, it is a very technical kit, every piece is small. And I have not build mine, but I too do not recommend it, to beginners, maybe after building 2 mg. If you are someone who is not overwhelmed by a lot of parts and a bigger then usual mg go for it, but I still recommend, 2 mg before this kit, coz it’s special and you wanna hone your skill before tackling this kit. I myself wish I had hone my skills a bit more before I did my first ver ka.
i'd say any MG that use MG RX-78 2.0 inner frame is a good choice for beginner. it usually has beautiful inner frame the build isn't complicate(also disassembling the upper torso can be a bit of a pain). it's price is on the lower end of MG. for me, GM sniper II or GM sniper custom is my recommendation.
Late, but wanted to say, Wing Zero Ver ka is absolutely not a beginner kit, especially the kits problems with the wing joints tending to crack overtime meaning you'll need to do some fixing to make it hold up. Instead, the MG Proto Zero is a better choice, easy to build, posable, heck of a looker. Id also add the GM Sniper Custom as my personal pick. Good price, tons of accessories, really cool olive drab green color scheme. I would also say the Gundam X or Double X if one can find it, also fun first builds especially with an awesome shelf presence.
How difficult is the MGSD Freedom in comparison to "normal MG"? Because that's my first and only MG that i build. Only got interested into gunpla a month ago with the RG line.
If you have no problems building the MGSD freedom you shouldn’t have a problem building a mg, the difference might be a regular mg has a longer build, just savour the build and enjoy the process.
@@Toyama23HobbyChannel Thanks for the answer! The only "problem" I have with the MGSD Freedom is the very stiff joints (makes sound when i move them) for posing when done.
