I Moved the Double Main Line Track and Expanded the Freight Depot Yard in Railroads Online!

- Hey everyone and welcome to Railroads Online! Today we are moving the double main line around the freight depot and turning it into a functional location. I sort of forgot that we actually have to pick up and drop off goods here and can't just block all traffic to do so.

Don't forget, you have to get enough levels to get to tier 5 in order to buy a cattle car, and that's really hard with the low amount of XP the seeds and water net you. Probably worth it to go ahead and build up the line to the logging camp, even if it's just back to the freight depot to sell the logs directly.
Building up to the logging camp is also nice as you can also set yourself up to build up to the oil fields and coal mine (even if you won't be ready to use them)
Absolutely love this series. It was actually your series with Hyce that inspired me to start my own play through!

YAY MY FAVOURITE SERIES
Problem is even with enough money you still need to be level 5 to buy the tier 5 cattle car. This would be a very long grind. I'd rather try to exand into the old industries to make some money, even logs pay double of what you get for seeds, water, and straw. I wish starting with the wheat farm chain was more viable, but logging camp and sawmill are still a much better option, even if they are very hard to reach on this map.

What I did was I moved the freight depot to on top of the un-removable platform on the other side so that I could expand the train yard. I know its a bit late now but you could have kept he main where it was if you moved the depot to the siding
I feel like the round house and sheds should allow you to make modifications to your locomotives and rail cars. Imagine being able to bring in your rail cars and upgrade from lock and pin couplers to knuckle couplers? Or the ability to repaint your equipment including changing the labels?
I didn't think I'd like watching a game like this. But the Railroads Online have been my favorites to watch before bed haha. I love learning new things from your videos.
The light should always be on to warn any animals
There's a second side to the Freight Depot, so you can have people loading seeds while unloading at the FD, without fouling either.
The way I make my track straight and parallel, is temporary switches
Edit: For double track or even triple(for an Express) is to connect the switch with another switch like you did when extending the main switch on the left right line of the main, extend that for a bit, then connect a switch to that and another as if to switch lines, and then work backward till it looks symmetrical
He did that in the past, all day long. You won't know how many switches he has placed all over the place, to get super straight lines^^

You should add a sperrte Track next to the main at the Wheat Farm to pushback your seed pallet train into😊
it sucks there's no way to automate the trains, cause I think that's one thing rro needs especially for Endgame when you have everything linked and whatnot having to do everything yourself sucks and that would probably add more longevity to the game and even help early game

i discovered that when you buy cars, and im assuming locomotives as well, they now spawn near you instead of back at the freight depot, also it does seem that the proper driving mechanics are implimented, or at least with betsy

Now with the geolites thingies to measure grade and in props they have the text sign. You can label your grades on the track!!🎉
Also your “only locomotives past this point” idea is possible as well!
Oh and I found out through patch notes the round house shed is supposed to refill your engine I think with water and potentially wood but it might be bugged rn.

i would recommend getting the RGS Class 47 4-6-0 as the next loco coz everyone got the class 48 as the second loco as soon possible at least back in the early days but if you are focusing on the cattle line first perhaps another D&RG Class 25 (Montezuma) or either of the Betsys
Grind for more Cash than you think you need. That way you're prepared for any "oops" moments

Best grind money and have a good train to pull a lot of cars. More money per trip idea.
Now that train cars don't usually spawn in the spawn yard anymore, (They spawn closer to the player now.) I wonder if new worlds will still have that 3 lane spawn yard.
I think i saw someone spawn new locos and cars on any placed rails, closest to the player

kAN, You can also unload products on the other side of a depot as well. I always use both sides of a depot as unload points.
A good number of trains would be good to transport several items without stopping, but large trains with I don't know... 7,8 or even 9 cars would help until you make good money

Your mixed car set hauls too much water to the cattle, you can split the water between the wheat farm and cattle and keep the wheat products flowing while you haul straw and wheat to the cattle without making an extended water haul to the wheat farm.
20:49 you can unload on the other side too
Got enough space out there around the farm for a reverse loop.
The game is looking much better now, they just need controller support and it'll be perfect.

Put your engine facilities inside the wye section of the yard. Trust me, it looks cool.
For money you can bring in your friends so I think Expansion is way better because otherwise you grind money now to get it anyways once you have a few 'employees' and the faster you build all up the sooner you can let them loose
@KAN Gaming - when your getting a bit OCD, 🧐 🤔 try distracting thoughts away from the impulse to keep backtracking "pun not intended".
Maybe it will be easier to do things in order, put a yard rail down the opposing sides of the building at 12:00 then connect it to the main line. Like a passenger and other goods drop off...
Remember:
1 Structure eg. Bridge, building, sand coal wood & water tank.
2 Yard rails.
3 Main line.
Then everything will be where it's naturally supposed to be...

If you wanna be able to load seed and have someone unload at the same time , why not move your tracks on the other side of of the station next to the station ... Just a thought ..
double tracks are great, i just wish the switches worked better eith the 45* crossover. you can't make proper gridirons to do X's so you can switch in both lanes. Right now if you put down a corssover, and then connect the turn lines from 4 switches to them the straight parts don't line up and it needs to be excessively wide to compensate, and you still end up with weird S bends that aren't good at speed.
i like to bring my boxcars when i deliver seeds you get an extra 3 pallets per car i will also fill them up when i go to pick up grain as well
Kan you need to make the MAIN line up with the FREIGHT DEPOT
They fix the issue with the cold dumping area

You DO NOT need to relink switches. Also you are using level 3 grade track, for FPS purposes use level 1 or 2 if possible because the computer 'draws' the extended fill under the ground and must still process it even if you don't see it. Also... so odd hearing an American use 'shunting'. Where'd you pick up that habit??

he's Canadian, and they use the term shunting in Canada

You should live steam when you’re grinding or just running trains for fun. Just not you building track the whole stream, Just a suggestion.

So I redownloaded rail roads online excited that I could build whilst flying as my game is fully updated and I can't fly? And the whole game just seems to be a buggy mess any ideas on what I could be missing? I don't even have the tool that allows me to check elevation etc
Hey does anyone know how to fix my inability to start loading cars. No matter what I try or what type of car it is I cant get any cars to load with material. Any help is appreciated, and yes... I've lined the cars up correctly and am using the right cars. 🙌

Hyce got to a point where he simply wasn't having fun playing the game any more (in part because he has a much lower tolerance for inaccuracies than the RO devs do, so things like the weird coupler spacing would bother him a lot), and he made the reasonable decision to stop doing something that wasn't fun. That was months ago, though.
