@@nlrenzo9432 House Reyne was an old House and Rival to House Lannister... Up until Tywin killed every single one of them, this song was written by bards and used as a warning to every other house, NEVER cross the Lannisters while Tywin is alive.
They even mention in a lore video on the series that any time one of the Lannister Vassals was thinking of doing something against the Lannisters, Tywin would send a bard who played this song, and any thoughts of rebellion were soon stopped.

@@Arrctv The Lannister victory at Kings Landing against the invading Stanice forces was mostly Tyrian, and Tywin kinda came in right at the end and claimed he soley won the entire fight. Tyrian was a much better strategist. Its kinda like how America and Russia claim they claimed they solely one ww2 and America claims they won ww1.

When it really kicks in at about 2:04, it becomes so much more than just a little ballad. It's an orchestral rendition of duty, and honor, and betrayal and regret. And a legacy built on tragedy and violence, and upholding years of tradition and passing the torch. I picture Jaime riding toward redemption along the duration of this song - realizing the terrible things he's done, and that his family has done, and trying to become a better person.
Yeah this music fits Jamie to a T, but Tywin no, he's sing the Rains of Castameare with pride not regret.

I'd like to see a miniseries with young Tywin, a young man with immense potential has to watch his weak-willed father fritter away the wealth and power of House Lannister, to see the Warden of the West and one of the most storied Houses in Westeros reduced to a laughing stock. And he sits and simmers as his sister is traded off to the second son of Walder Frey just so his father can make Walder like him. Then the Reynes and Tarbecks overstep their bounds and the Lion is unleashed in all his terrible glory while a madman in King's Landing watches with great interest

@@tiaaaron3278 Good question, I'd say someone like Ben Hardy or Tom Felton, Tywin was never a tough guy or a warrior like Ned Stark or Robert Baratheon, he should be more upper class, can exude real menace without raising his voice but can absolutely explode if needed. From what we know of his past at this point Tywin was a man bottling up a lot of rage and anger at the declining fortune of House Lannister and he finally got to do something about it

When you go on to westeroscraft and you warp to castamere you find a castle flooded and in ruins. Just before the main gate there is a sign that reads: "Woe to he who defies the Lion of the Rock" When I read those words the song just comes pouring into my head

-> 1. the literal rain alluding to the flooding of castamere.
2. the reynes, the family that owned it, is wiped out, only their ghosts weeping in the halls of castamere
I love the transition from red to gold. Great symbolism of the fate of the Reyne's and Tarbecks
Man think about how badass this would be as a comeback song for House Reyne. All the derision and mockery turns into pride and justice, and now the rains weep over the *Lannister's* halls with not a sound to hear.
It pretty much did come true The Lannisters are likely all dead because Tiryon might be a Targaryan. Its hinted at in the books that Tyrion is Aerys Bastard son so the Lannisters may very well be all dead.
