Now this what I call a great trailer. Its suspenseful and leaves enough mystery so as to not give the entire movie away, and it entices you enough with the mystery to make you want to see it. Kudos to Anna Kendrick for this directorial debut! If the movie as as tense as this scene was, we are in for a treat.
Yes I am relieved when the trailer doesn't give the whole plot away.
I totally agree! My thoughts exactly. Some trailers give away too much that by the time you watch the movie, there's no suspense

Wow, you go Anna, great to see her trying directing, and what a film and topic to chose as her debut.
Looks good, but in reality, they didn't even go on a date. After the game show was finished and they met backstage, she said he was so creepy and gave her a bad feeling, so things never went further than meeting backstage. Pretty big liberty to take on a true story lol.
Exactly why I won't be watching. Plus, the guy playing Rodney is too young and baby faced
@@danielmcshane7611 it's based on a true story, not a documentary. They never claimed it to be accurate and as long as it's entertaining who cares really.
I love how… knowing, now, that they didn’t actually go on a date-and movies aren’t meant to be completely factual to their’ true stories’-I’m excited to see how the storytellers make this into a cautionary tale and play on the audiences expectations and ideas on how the story (as told in the movie) will play out
I honestly didn’t get creep vibes from this guy purely based on what we see here. It was more amusing seeing him call her out on various things someone would do to cut contact without making it obvious they were cutting contact.
Love how in no way did they insinuate that that is the female from the show as if he didn’t have encounters with many others.

Rodney Alcala for those who don't know... Quite possibly the most prolific Serial Killer. That's just going by the supposed Trophies he kept. Last Podcast On The Left did a fantastic Pod-Series based on this killer.
Ohh, so this was inspired by that one dating show. A killer won a date with a woman who participated in the game from like the early 80s(?)

LOL!! In real Life they didnt date! She refused, because when they met face to face, she said: "I started to feel ill. He was acting really creepy". So this movie, it could be good, but its NOT a "True Story". xD

It didn't say it was a true story, it said that it was based on a true story. It cuts between the murders he committed and a re-imagined version of his appearance of The Dating Game and a fictional encounter with Cheryl Bradshaw.
