They've added a lot since I was there about 15yrs ago. Back in the 60s or so, this used to be called Gatlinburg Ski Resort. That was before they added the gondola ride up the mountain.
Plus we love Ober. Last time we were there we were on line to get on the ski lift to go down the alpine slide while holding beers. The ski lift operator asked what we thought we were doing and told us to quickly chug our beers. I have never got on an Alpine Slide were I was told by employees to chug beers first. The place is great.
Me and my friend worked there one summer back in 97/98 and they had a dorm for seasonal workers we got to stay in. It was so bad, the managers were all on the take, dirty as the day is long. They fired us for having company at our room! BUNCH OF SCUMBAGS!
While I don’t know how long the other folks owned it, Ober Gatlinburg was sold in 2022 to the owners of Ole Smoky so I would guess management is very different now.
You and Molly always do such a nice job ! I really enjoyed seeing the new OBER. Thank You!
Good video! Thanks!
Chair lift is great too! Old Tyne photos are great!

The mini malls and shops and restaurants and hotels in downtown are great. Get outside town to the glades too. Ice skating is fun up there.
Chair swings are great!
Clingmans dome is great, too.
Hello we are going tomorrow! I'm curious about your camera though, what are using during this video? Especially the shots with the giant zoom.
Sony FDR AX53
@@IntheLoopPodcast Thanks! I really like it.
You should visit cades cove
I have been to Cades Cove, quite enjoy it.
@@IntheLoopPodcast do you have a video on it
For?? we did that yesterday was not impressed at all only seen one bear and it was just terrible with all the hype
Can you pay individually for activities such as the coaster? Or do you have to get the wristband?
I believe you can pay individually, but not 100% sure
I have never been there. It seems kind of deserted.
You said the slide is concrete. The Alpine Slide is not concrete, it is fiberglass sections put together to make a track.
Old tram car, old cabins are in the park.
Goats on a roof top I personally think is the fastest
Act right up there because strangers ain’t come down from Rocky Top reckon they never will.
What bar was the bear walking out of? Haha

Walking from the Smoky Mountain Brewery to our hotel we saw a bear, two trips in a row
@IntheLoopPodcast that is amazing. We only seen them in the park when we are down visiting, never near town.
You should go to Alaska
An Alaska cruise is something very high on the “to do list”

They need a dark ride...
I notice you left out all the cheesy game area lmao!
Must have missed it
Bear has riss
This place sucks. Trapped in the 1980's, and not the best part of the 80's.
