    This lay off is world wide so it won't affect a single place more than others, probably a drop in the bucket to how many people they actually employ.

    Middle management is always the first to go. However, that alone won’t get the desired results so the cuts will continue further down the line. They have been raising their prices but their service continues to decline. We no longer use UPS at our business because the attitudes of the drivers.

      12000 is 2% tops of workforce worldwide
      Cleaning out some redundant office jobs
      Dividend maintained , they will be better for it company wide

    With most big businesses, if you're looking to cut out some fat, start with middle management. My observation has been that it's the workers 🐝 that make the 🍯 !

      That’s almost for sure what is happening here
      UPS has about 550000 total workers, 12000 is about 2% of total workforce
      Zero union jobs involved.

    I witnessed first hand how the service quality at UPS went down over a period of 10 years. The fix a few years ago was also to fire 30% of staff at my office,which made the service probably even worst and now this is happening again. Bad service=less earnings= lay offs =bad service=less earnings=lay offs and so on. Till UPS is gone 😂 greetings from the EU

    FYI, there's a difference between being fired and being laid off. The difference is who's at fault. It's a big difference when it comes to being hired for a new job.

      do you really believe that a delivery driver deserves to be paid 50$ an hour or 400$ to 500$ a day plus full medical benefits. The drivers are taking all of UPS profits. Eventually if UPS doesn't get rid of that blood sucking union out of the picture ups will file for bankruptcy 💯💯💯💯

      No it's not, I had to lay off 6 good employees to make room for drivers that have no routes. Upper management is not going to step down and do what I do, they're too busy protecting their bonuses that middle management has never received.

      @@KaiBiz I'm not anti union I actually retired from a union job at 44 years old but I also worked for a city meaning city's will never run out of money to pay our pensions unlike a company like ups. The union will absolutely bury ups in the future 50$ to a van driver is stupid especially when you have half the population willing to do that job for 20$ an hour.
