    I can't understand why some parents will not teach their children their native language. English is everywhere. No paranoia needed. The child will speak english. A language should not be looked at as a handicap but a powerful tool in life. Being bilingual can enforce a childs ability to learn more and learn more about others. So why do we treat another language as a prejudice device and not see it as a gift?🤔

    This video was hilarious. The origin of Aguas was true but this took place when Mexico was under the rule of the Spanish crown and it was usually the Spaniards that would throw their waste or "dirty" water in the street and would yell "aguas" remember "los aztecas" already had "acueducto" and a an ancient type of plumbing.

      Do you see the comments complaining that Norberto doesn't know Spanish well enough? He got 18 out of 19 (the same as me), and it sounds like his native language is English (as is mine). La gente es cruel, sobre todo en el mundo de comentarios de RUclips, y el público se burla de los personajes sin piedad. Es importante siempre tener en cuenta la lección de "valemadrismo". If you're trying, if you put in the effort - lo que dicen vale madres.

    ok, I take a look at the test, I'm mexican. And you should know that a lot of this words and phrases have lots and lots of meanings. For example: Pedo is drunk, but also problem, and also fart, and also a way to say hi like: ¡que pedo!

      Pues, *su padre* es de México, y él habla inglés perfecto, supongo que inglés es su idioma nativo. Soy estadounidense y sí, su español es mejor que el mío, pero - está metiendo las palabras en oraciones para quitarse el acento gringo. Es mexicano *de sangre* por su padre, y no mencionó a su madre. Al principio, dijo "I'd BETTER do well on this" - no quiere decepcionar a su padre.
      Me da pena ajena imaginar que "he doesn't sound Mexican enough" y a la vez "he doesn't look American enough". He's Mexican-American. He sounds and looks 100% Mexican-American. That better be enough, because that's who he is.

      Jeff Acosta You should watch the Pero Like video about how not speaking Spanish doesn't make you any less Hispanic... But of course I don't speak Spanish either, and my great grandparents emigrated from Mexico. They didn't teach their kids Spanish because they wanted them to fit in with the Americans as much as possible.

    • @isabeldoades6930
      @isabeldoades6930 7 лет назад +26

      Jeff Acosta Is there a problem not knowing Spanish? Why is it that all the Hispanic people I meet think it's some kind of fucking requirement to speak Spanish if you're Hispanic? Like I'm a Mexican and Puerto Rican and guess what, I don't know Spanish because I don't need to. No one expects Asian people to speak whatever their origin language is and no one expects Germans, Greeks, or literally any other race to speak their native tongue. So why in the world should it matter?

    • @janetll0943
      @janetll0943 7 лет назад +10

      I only know Spanish because it was my first language and had to learn English when I moved to the US. But plenty of people of my school are Mexican and can barely hold up a conversation with someone who knows the language really well. That doesn't make them any less Hispanic

    • @shard4206
      @shard4206 7 лет назад +7

      Why should i speak a slave language? The Spanish tortured people who spoke their own language. In Mexico if you spoke the native language the spaniards would tie you up and burn your genitals with fire. Learn your history. Fuck Spanish.

    It could be used as a substitute curse word, (ex. "Chin!")
    "chale.. "

    We say “aguas” because back In the day where restrooms were not the thing. People use to pee in “vasijas” or bottles. So every morning they used to throw their pee through the window. So they say “aguas” in reference of the pee they were throwing through the window. It was a shorter way of saying careful/watch out to the people, so they didn’t get dirty with the pee. That’s what my 98 old grandma from Guadalajara Mexico 🇲🇽 told me. 😄
