    Harry Truman, who never saw the inside of a Law School, was one of Pendergast's 'pocket judges'. Substitute the name CORLEONE for PENDERGAST, and you have "Harry in his pocket", "like so many nickels and dimes".

    Tom Pendergast did a lot for Kansas City. I would support him for public office. Even though he was corrupt, Kansas City would not be the city that is today. Kansas City would be boring without him. If I had lived in the 1930s, I would pick Kansas City, Missouri to live. He took Harry Truman to the White House. What a colorful character.

    Actor Bill Worley looks much like the real Thomas Pendergast did in his old photographs. Back in the 1930's and 40's my grandfather knew Mr Pendergast personally... because they both invested money in oil wells.. most of which turned up dry.

    Absolutely agree Tom Pendergast was doing what he did best fourth Harry S Truman and he went all the way to the White House

    I don't agree with the Harry Truman Pendergast CORLEONE comment below but I totally disagree with the comparison of Pendergast to Stalin that took place in this video. Stalin was vicious and had gulags.
