NAIL THE MIX is an online mixing school created by Joey Sturgis, Joel Wanasek and Eyal Levi - the guys who produced bands like TDWP, Chelsea Grin, Blessthefall, Machine Head, Monuments, Miss May I, Of Mice & Men, Reflections, Born Of Osiris, Asking Alexandria and dozens more of this generation's best metal bands.
Every month, NAIL THE MIX members get exclusive access to the REAL MULTI-TRACK SESSIONS from a REAL ALBUM, and a 6-8 hour live streaming class from the producer who mixed it. These are the actual sessions by bands like Gojira, Meshuggah, Periphery, Papa Roach, Machine Head, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember and more - and NTM is the only place in the world you'll get access to them!
I never knew you could edit automation like he does, I thought you only could draw beforehand the anchor points and make it WAY longer process... that's what I love about watching pros do things, you always pick up small tricks and different ways to use a program
I just learned about the same select and offset feature in Logic about a week ago. Wish I knew about this years ago!
no wonder the mix is stellar the first i listen to this song!
This level of craftsmanship and attention to detail is so good to see. Loved watching Jens do it live. He’s so fast and efficient.
Awesome stuff man
I dunno, I've had pretty good results doing the same thing using Waves' vocal rider plugin.
Yeah, I use Vocal rider in conjunction with compressor and manual volume automation
Really helpful thanks
How is he inserting the automation points so fast? Is there a special keyboard shortcut or something?
I believe it's command+click. Not sure if that's the right modifier, though.
Command+/ will also make an automation point.
Keep an eye on the toolbar as he’s doing it. He’s using hot keys to switch between the editing modes.
Smart
Very wide mix
Misleading title
The thumbnail isn't though.
Mixing vocals in different languages is a disaster and specially automating them
