- The first video introducing the newest car in our collection. Note a correction-the Daytona hood is actually a standard 1970 Charger hood with some minor differences such as hood pin holes and a couple of indentations. The 70 Superbird hood is actually a modified 70 Coronet hood. Sorry for my confusion!
You know this man is hardcore when he sounded genuinely upset that the presumably original brake shoes were cracked.
Who care cars are not supposed to stay all original and their not mean to sit. Theses car are racecars treat them as such have blue print made of how to build the chassis sell the prints to kit companies or start your own.
@@joebone3151 The autos are not race cars.
Class Act.
This car landed in the right hands.
Yes!
No doubt
I love it when a plan comes together,
Hi Bob, 16 July 2023 - Just stopped by to see how things are going. Your Hemi Dayton is looking great and running well. She was the best of out 3 Hemi Cars. Thanks for taking such good care of her.
Best Always
Christine for the 426 Hemi Chicks
Wonderful communicator and dialogue! Thank you for sharing the story, much enjoyed!
My father owned Race Motor Sales, the selling dealer and I drove the Daytona before it was sold.
Pics or it didn't happen. lol
Tom, i would love to talk! Thanks for your note, bob
Way cool!
@@eggmanfryer It always feels good to show yourself as cynical, but you must remember back to the days around 1970 - very few people regularly carried cameras around. But there could be paperwork to document his claims. It is possible that what Tom Race said is true. Who knows?

These cars are such a big part of history. Thank you for keeping them alive
Its amazing how these cars are still around. Definitely a piece of history here. Enjoyed your video.
These old cars and their stories are wonderful. I loved the cars when they were new, and I still love them now. Great video.
Well I am for sure one that has NOTHING but admiration for someone that has found and keeps any of these cars up and running. The first time I saw one of these I was 9 years old and it was in 1970 I just thought WOW a ENGINEER MASTERPIECE then I heard they were running them at NASCAR and that just SOLIDIFIED that thought in my mind! But never have had money or opportunity come together at the same time. So I am glad there are people that care about and for these cars and keep at lest one together for me when those two events come together for me to own one of these TIME CAPSULES! Thank you for your time, effort and allowing people like me to see them!
So cool! My favorite car of all time, thanks to 6 year old me watching Joe Dirt when it came out. I love that you're saving everything as much as possible to keep it original. That's exactly what I would do. Don't wash it! It looks perfect the way it is. I'd love to see this thing in person.
Glad this smart man is the new owner and keeps American muscle in it's original condition for as long as he is alive. He is a rare breed like the cars he loves. Thank you Sir!
Original dust is even better than original patina!Awesome car and preservation.
I could talk with this guy for days and not get bored... would love to see his collection..he is the guy who should own this car because he loves and respects them. Great video
What a Princess of a car…..and you’re treating HER like Royalty. Thank you for posting this video and thank you for breathing new life into that Gem….Mac
A Ferrari is a "Princess", this is an attack dog with rabies dripping off of it's fangs.
i would prime the engine then remove all the spark plugs and spray some lube in so you get some upper cylinder lube and slowly bar the engine over a few rotation before even using the starter. maybe a good thing to remove the valve covers too to make sure none of the valves are stuck open it will really suck having a struck valve and the piston slap the valve and bend it that's why it's best to bar the engine over before cranking it with the starter
I’d take the motor completely to bits. Replace all seals etc, clean out sludge.
Why waste all that time art? Start it up and stomp the pedal to the floor, if anything needs fixing you'll find out real quick.
Love the car, my sister drove my Dad's Daytona to HS back in the 70s as I'm 6 yrs younger and was always jealous. Dad also had a 69 charger 500. He was an engineer at highland pk. I lost my dad last yr he would have really enjoyed seeing this video as I have. I just found some photos of his of winged cars lined up either at creative or Chrysler that are press photos. I'm an E body guy myself have three, one which I drove in HS and bought in 1980 and still own. Love the videos and glad to have found ya. Dad always said only original one...
Hang on a sec, I have to pick my jaw up off the floor....
One thing's for sure: it's good to be the king!
It's hard to be jealous of this fella though, well off as he is - he IS trying to be a good
steward of the cars and doesn't mind sharing them with us - and that is the heart and
soul of our hobby - us being good stewards so that the next generation can also enjoy
these cars as they were built!

awesome car and still in incredible condition. I have to admit, I dont understand the fascination with keeping the "barn find dirt" on these cars that people rescue. Take pictures, then wash it. Not my car, though.
Washing a car is not restoring it and neither is replacing the tires and brakes!
your stereotypical youtube "barnfind" "patina" "abandoned" bullshit doesn't compare to finding a hemi daytona wing car still original...this is a 6 figure car buddy
I'd be cleaning that baby by hand and very slowly love a Daytona.
I personally couldn’t leave a “barn find” as it was found but I understand the significance in doing so. These cars are only original one time and original cars tell incredible stories that you don’t want to “wipe away” so to speak
Beautiful! Thank you so much for the love, respect and care you are giving to the car and the restoration of this remarkable piece of automotive history. Looking forward to seeing and hearing it running once again.
Big Fan of this fella' ! His passion for these two models is clearly evident. Many Thanks Yo ! 💥 💯 💥
I love that the only part of this video that raised my eyebrows was addressed in the description. I also love that Bob's shop is in my home state of Indiana. Well done!
In the early '80s, a friend and I went to a closed Chrysler dealership in Michigan to look at a Mopar collection. One of the cars was a yellow Superbird, 440, auto. It had something like a 2.74 rear end. It also had a trailer hitch. The woman who owned the car originally used it to tow her boat.
The car is cool. The owner is too. I think they belong together.
Fantastic !!! What ever you decide to do I know will be the right thing. Cant wait to see it started. Thanks for rescuing and preserving this special car .
I am so grateful for people like Mr. Jennings that preserve these beautiful machines.
Yeah don't wash it just rinse'er off. This guys take on keeping it really original is outstanding. As a mopar tech and resto guy it has always pained me to make some of the cars I've worked on through the yrs look "new" rather perfect a way in which it never looked. Nothing excites me more than to see an old mopar with some patina on it. Well done sir.
I would be as excited as this guy is if I owned this car.
You really got my attention. I have been driving mopar muscle cars for almost 50 yrs. I can't wait to hear that Hemi-Daytona run. It sure is in the right hands Bob. You are doing a great service to the Mopar community and the hobby.
THis car is by far the best hemi charger ive seen that ive wanted some day in my life just to look at wow ! Love the content .
So happy you are living your life this way. You must be so happy
I applaud your respect for the car's heritage.
Absolutely spectacular!!!!! Thank you for preserving it "as original"!!!!! Beautiful.
What a truly amazing car n find! I'm glad it's in the hands of someone that has a great head on his shoulder n a great car!
Awesome!! I love your plan with the car. Perfect to preserve a so original car. I so look forward to seeing the progress. Thank you for sharing!!!!
Thank you for sharing. Absolutely love those cars. I appreciate all of the insight you’ve shared on this video. Thanks again.
I really enjoyed the passion and integrity... loved the story loved how the info was presented ... keep us updated please......
What a great find!!!!!
Thanks Mr Jennings for helping to keep the great Mopar history alive and well.
Just love these cars thanks for your time and effort video and preservation
Terms like “only original once” “history lesson” and “survivor” are the ONLY correct references to this car. I like your rebuild not replace approach to parts and pieces that must be brought up to standard. We in the Mopar community are so fortunate this car landed with such an insightful car collector. Best wishes, hope to see this one at a Charger gathering alongside my ‘68 R/T a car I’ve owned for almost 50 years 😉
I love the Daytona. And I also love the SuperBirds. I can never afford one but wish I could one day. Thanks for sharing.
everyone does,no you will never own one unless you have a spare $200,000 for one in "very shitty" condition
Get Christine on the channel....she sounds like a plethra of Mopar knowledge
Hi Paul, we're now here in Phoenix. Still on the website where Bob found the Daytona. Still active there and sometimes here.
Thanks for the plug.
Best Always

I am that Jack T that purchased the very car from race motors in 1969, have new photos and original title !
Man , this guy is truly passionate about this ....nice to see!!
What an awesome find. Thank you for sharing!
AWESOME!!!!!!!! I'd be happy just sweeping the floors in that garage, just to be around those machines
Of course wash it. Or rather, clean it thoroughly. But don't use water - wipe down with lots of damp micro-fibre cloths, including inside all the door jambs and turret curves etc. And even give it a polish, where the paint still is. Clean the glass as well as possible inside and out - it will look exceptional, even with the areas of paint deterioration. Keeping the dust on is just a touch silly.
Love the aero cars. I once owned a '69 Dodge Charger 500, great car and fun to drive.
Interestingly, my Brother still has his 69 ChArger SE(setting next to,new Interior, Brakes, etc: with it up on Blocks for some three years now: I will,be returning to our Northern Indiana Home soon( his Wife just Died): and the topic may come up, no,sense wasting *& letting Charger go to,waste, etc.
Hey DH, my old man owned a ‘69 500 that I’m trying to track down. Dad owned it from ‘71-‘82. He bought it from the ex-racer Ray Alley. I located the guy he sold it to, who then sold it again up in Michigan in the mid 1980’s. The car was originally a silver on black Hemi automatic, stripe delete car. Dad got it dinged at a grocery store and after trying to match 1970’s silver, he broke down and painted it black. And if no one repaired the dash, it still has teeth marks on the passenger side where I was teething as a toddler. Hoping you have some information about your 500 or have heard the legend of the yahoo that color changed his Hemi Charger 500?
@@seanvandergracht2641 thanks. Interesting story, etc. hope it works out, my. ROTHER HAS A 69 Charger SE/383,etc.
Nice car, my dad had a 66' 383 & 69' 440 cuda'. What color was your 500 charger??
the Daytona and Superbird are fascinating but the Charger 500 was by far the most successful Chrysler aero car with 22 wins.
My favorite Mopar ever built!!! They are just unbelievably awesome up close!!!
Great video, amazing car. I liked the closing comment also.
Take to the big show. Then wash it. Do not wax it. Just get the dust off.
Great car and great video.
Thank you.
Norm in Indy.
What a gem. This is the perfect guy to own the car. Perfect plate name too.
I know some people get carried away with clear coating "patina" cars at shows now days. But this it a perfect candidate for simply cleaning the outside real good and spraying on a compatible clear coat so it can be saved in as found condition as long as posssible.
I like how you tell trolls to step off! Nice!!👍👍👍
This guys shop is heavenly
Fantastic collection
Met Mr. Jennings at Mopars at the Battleship last weekend. Great guy. Will talk wing cars all day.
Awesome beast . Good to know it will be looked after correctly.
This is just fantastic! This Daytona is in the right hands!
Met this man the other day, really nice man
Amazing find ! Beautiful car
Great find and purchase. Hope to see it in Chicago November 2021.
Nice fellow glad he owns that rare vehicle only because alot of hemi car owners are buyer only this gentlemen loves it lives it
"TROLLS"??? Please, don't you trolls have anything better to do than to rain on someones parade? What This man does is Magnificent!
In 1976 I bought my girlfriends 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum for $1500 bucks (she wanted a Mustang). That car was fully loaded and super comfy to drive. I blew the engine (drag racing) and gave the body away. I've had tons of hotrods, but that Charger is the one I miss most. BTW, Wash the Car!
My father was Chryslers top salesman in the United States in 1969, he worked for Bill Swad Chrysler Plymouth in Columbus Ohio, he drove me to school everyday in a Superbird.
Wow, you got a very rare gem there. It's in good hands there for sure. Drive and enjoy it.
Great find can’t wait to hear it running 👍
I lived in Dallas most of my life. I recall a guys house I would pass every day going to/from high school. There was an orange winged car in the garage…not certain if it was a Daytona or Superbird. I never noticed the car move for many years. This was 1974-1977. I now wonder if this could have been that car. Very cool!
Amazing I love these winged cars awesome collection well done 👍🏻.
back in the day I owned a purple daytona that looke a lot like the one on the lift in the background. My Wifes grandfather bought a Brand New blue Superbird and had the dealer deliver it to his house on Chistmas day in 1970
Warming story
yeah, and your fucking handle is og gamer..............i smell a hot load of shit
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 try washing your upper lip
Nice! This guy is the perfect guy to look after this car. His enthusiasm shows through. I would love to see the entire car detailed thoroughly though, i am not an expert but i cant see how making that original paint as good as it can be would detract from its originality at all.
I recall one of these running around the Lebanon Indiana area around 1979/80 time frame.
And???
During the middle 70's a Red Daytona Charger. Ran around Zionville, Indiana. Just about half way down 334 going into Zionville. Shawn.
and?
I like this guy
And I love his garage
As an old Mopar mechanic and enthusiast, love this guy and his dedication to preserving these beauties of the past! Oh, and his attitude towards you trolls is spot on but a little too mild. F*#k off is more like it.
Great great story & video. Congratulations on a magnificent piece of history. Great job on the interior too. That said I would also do a deep cleaning with a cleaner preservative. I would also fix the rust on the lower part of the rear window and what I thought was rust under the rear deck lid, the edge closest to the rear window. That just my 2 cents worth since it didn’t have rust from the factory. Clay bar the finish, buff it out and then do the body. The paint can be matched for fade so it looks perfect should it have faded a bit. Congrats again!
oh how I love these cars thanks for showing it
Give the car a bath, after almost 50 years she has earned it. Leave the rest of it alone except for which needs to be replaced or repaired so it can run and drive. You're on the right track.
Great find beautiful time capsule
7:39 I see a little paw print above the charger emblem. What a beautiful car, wonderful to have and cherish.
Awesome ❤️
I'm the 50th subscriber ✔️
Hoping to see more videos 🙏🏻
Love from India ❣️
Unbelievable find! Those particular Chargers are very rare and valuable. Save the classics. The Daytona is the ultimate muscle car.
Awesome history,love these mopars
I think I would just dust it off but not wash it. What a awesome car nothing better than a Hemi wing car that is all original
Fantastic cars. One bad ass Daytona as well.
Those Daytonas look best in orange with those hubcaps, perfect. My old black 72 Roadrunner still had original paint, jeez they were ordinary paintjobs really...
Dont get cooler than this car 👑
Incredible stuff 👍
Sweet. This Daytona was built on my birthday!
Awesome car and video can’t wait to see it run
I totally understand the hesitancy to wash it.
Its beautiful.
Interesting story and video. Metro Detroit,Loves Muscle Cars!!! G
What a time capsule!!
Love your passion....... I hope to own a 68 or 69 charger someday.......😃
if it aint within the next day or two ,save up 6 figures for something you can "very carefully" drive 3-4 times a year
I apriciate how he is keeping it all original thank u so much for doing that this cars in good hands now thats how u buy a classic un touched all original not that customized crap
Washing your car was just a normal part of vehicle maintenance, so I would say yes, go ahead and give it a good washing.
I was 9 years old when these were driving around. People didn't want them. Dealers would take the wing off and nose cone just to sell them
ThNks , true, I seen Superbird in LAFAYETTE IN , Downtown in a Parking spot on Street(BEFORE Graduating Purdue in 1970 )( Spring)m way to long & Dramatic to buy and use for A young married Couple: buying my first new Car @ some $3000.00, from Dodge Dealer: 70 Coronet 500 / loaded , Ralley Red,etc.. “ANYHOWS “, some of the really great 70 : TORINO COBRA, GTO STAGE 4, Suoer BEE HEMI were really expensive for us.. Interestingly, decided Not to buy a 70 Challenger /magnum/4 SPD/RT/ SE ( every OPTION**)green/Green/Green, though we did not like DODGE GREEN THISE DAYS , & a/ c, vinyl etc. : & expensive..
Now you better have mid six figures to buy one.
This is so awesome..thanks for this vid..💪♥️😎🤙
Great car, great guy. Glad he's going to run it around some. Wash it, don't wash it, whatever. Just enjoy it and don't paint it!
Cool car! Should've left the headers on it, if you're going to leave the racing decals on it, then I would've left them on. Kinda goes with the whole look of the car. Awesome that you saved it, they are beautiful cars!
