Awesome story thanks for posting it 👍 My sister bought a 1958 Corvette convertible 283 4 speed from a pawn shop in Canada. The pawn shop had the car in storage more than 20 years.
In 2000, I bought a mint ‘75 Ranger early Bronco from a pawn shop in Miles City, Montana. 43,000 miles on it, for $2500. I more than doubled my money, but I really should have kept it.

Decent car but the pawn shop knew it wasn't a real hemi car just a elephant motor transplant. Pawn shops know exactly what they buy brings on the market and that's why it was 30 k. If a real documented hemi car it would be well over 100k
I know the story of the car and where the motor came from the Dayton was retagged and the person found his stolen Dayton on the Eastside off of East Warren & Hereford Stan & John who owned the Challenger were from Mound & Charles I offered them & had cash with when I looked at it In 2012-13 and I told when ur in Detroit I know where all of the cars
Was that the red Daytona that was for sale for $4500.00 at Royal Transmission on VanDyke and Hall Road back in 1980? I'd heard something happened to it but never had a solid story.
If he sells that he's absolutely INSANE ...that cars been built for the 1/4 the way he got it prob did well too but that Hemi in it now with a 4 speed is going to be EPIC ...i wouldnt sell that for 200k nope that would be a forever car and handed down in family ...

I still find it hard to understand how so many late 1960s muscle cars were totally roached out within 10 years of ownership.. I mean I have a 34 year old Honda thats pretty much still in amazing shape....
Some Dodges and Plymouths had problems with water leaks my 73 Duster leaked around the windshield and the trunk lid. I figure the only thing that saved my car was it was garbage kept until just 4 years before I got it.
Yep! I've found quite a few here and there with tags still on them ranging from 78-83!! Lol.....that pretty much says it all! They commenced to being beat death from the moment they hit the pavement outside the dealership!! 🤦♀️
You do realize there were less than 3K produced with a 383 4-speed? Plus this had leather, rear speaker, and who knows what else that wasn't mentioned on this vid. Ex brother-in-law had the same car in the late 80's he listed for parting out, motor and trans were used else where. Ol' MOPAR head came and told him he actually had something special, wouldn't steal it but gave him 3 times what he figured to get parting it out, and was happy to get it for that. Someone 'altered' it into what they wanted and I'm guessing this owner is putting most of it back except the hemi, and it didn't look like his only project.
@@Ray56z well I hope you get your 30 grand out of it after you put more than that in it, don't count on the future because you don't know it, also it's not factory you might get 30 35 out of it
I ran 12.5 to 1 in a big block Chevy bored to 408. I ran 93-94 octane Chevron and octane booster, mixed just like it said on the bottle. I never had a detonation problem.
The block had been 'windowed' as he put it, than repaired. Hole was where the block vin was which sounds about right. Left side, mid-section, tossed a lot of rods out there when I ran big block MOPARs on the dirt track.
Now that’s a cool car! If the 69 Charger Daytona ever resurfaces and is being restored, would your friend offer whoever restores the car to bring back the original numbers matching Hemi?
@@AutoArchaeology, my bad. So I apologize. I used to be a hardcore Chevy guy when I was younger. But as I grew up and did more research about the Big Three muscle cars, Chrysler, GM, and Ford, I learned to appreciate them all.
30 G's for a 383 car? I had a 70 383 Challenger back in the mid 70s I traded it running and driving for a 440+6 70 Cuda' 4 speed that had spun the cam bearings. Put a Kellogg crank and mopar NASCAR rods. I sure miss that Cuda'

If it’s 12.5:1 compression ratio what octane fuel do you need for optimal performance and where can you get?
